“Would return in a heartbeat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2009

We just returned from a week long trip (Dec12-19) at HE and would return in a heart beat. We traded in through our timeshare via Interval International, so we had a studio room in the Phase 2.
The Room: Beautifully decorated and comfortable to boot! Nice studio with kitchen and full size fridge. Bathroom was just like the photos, spa tub and separate shower. Yes the towels were a bit scratchy, but not unbearable as mentioned in other reviews. The kitchen was FULLY equipped, surprised to find a blender, coffee maker, can opener, toaster and more! The fridge comes with items availble for purchase: beer, water, soda and Gatorade. The only mishap was that the shelf in the fridge door fell off one time when opening the door causing a few beers to fall out and break. The patio was large, relaxing and private. We were on the 4th floor of the 2nd phase and had a view of the ocean, only slightly obstructed by the phase 1 building.
The pools: both phase 1 and 2 pools were wonderful. Each had plenty of seats, umbrellas for shade, swim up and walk up bars, waiter for drink service, food served and excellent views. Phase 1 does have a better view overlooking the ocean and a small area away from the pool closer to the cliff for sitting, sunbathing etc. this is where we spent most of our sun time relaxing listening to the waves. Both pools have a towel station for fresh towels.
The Restaurant: Only one on site as of now. We had breakfast via a buffet there 2 mornings, lunch there once, dinner once and a mid day snack. Food was good, not outstanding but good. Nice mix on the menu of items from appetizers to salads to fish and entrees. Service was great. Room service is available in you room with just about the same menu.
Check in /out: NOT A PROBLEM! might have been the fasted I have ever encountered. They do provide towel card upon check in that must be returned or a fee charged. Please note that is you make calls, there is a high fee associated- I did hear one lady become upset at a $20 call. The rates are posted in the room. BellBoys will help you to you room via the golf carts. The carts are also available for transportation around the resort at anytime, just call the front desk. They do have you sign a card acknowledging that you do not have to tip anyone other then the bars and restaurant, which was nice. We did still tip the valet guys and the bell boys that helped with our bags a few US dollars.
The Spa: not open when we were there. They did have a temporary spa with 2 rooms with massage tables and facial items. We were watching them finish up the spa and unwrap the spa items, so i would expect it to be open real soon. Same with the Gym, not one when we were there, but we did see the gym equipment in the room, just not organized yet. You can find plenty of exercise walking the hills of the resort if needed.
Timeshare sales pitch: Optional, if you do not want ot do it, tell them no and they leave it at that. We did decide to do it, as we were interested in buying (but opted not to) and received a discount "diamond card: that gave us 15% off at eh resort and also some good discounts down at the marina.
Valet: we rented a car and parked it with the valet, as that is the only option. Never waited longer than 5 minutes to get it, but you can call ahead and have them bring it up while you go to the front desk.
There is a concierge available to help you plan and do activities if you desire. they do have free WiFi so you can book things on your own if you want.

Overall this was a very relaxing resort with great service-not a typical timeshare. The resort is not finished yet, but no construction when we were there. They stated that they planned to start phase 3 in jan 2011, but it is far enough away from everything else, I can not see it being a big problem.
If you have any other questions please contact me. For those of you traveling to HE ENJOY!! I will post pix soon!

We stayed one week in a studio. Great view, amazing pools, staff is totally awesome and helpful. Only one restaurant, it was good with a variety of prices on the menu, didn't feel like you were held hostage with high prices. They have a shuttle that goes to town every 2 hours but we had a rental car which we could park in town at Marina Fiesta for free. Hacienda is along the corridor, away from the night life in Cabo but for us that was perfect!

My wife and I bought into this resort in 2007 and were not disappointed on our first stay. First, the dirt road into the resort is only about 500 yards not three miles. Once inside the resort the views take over. The food was very good and priced right (try the surf and turf). The pools and grounds are kept very clean and the staff are very friendly. The location is perfect, only about three miles from downtown Cabo San Lucas and about 20 minutes from San Jose del Cabo. The only thing that was bad if you want to call it that, were the in- room towels (very rough to the touch). Over all, an awesome place to vacation or holiday. I stayed at other resorts in Cabo and this place is far more superior. Can’t wait to return next year…

The staff at the Hacienda Encantada are friendly and helpful. The views are spectacular and the dirt road is only about 500 yards not 3 miles as some people have written. The resort is very clean and the amenities are very good. I would recommend renting a car for your stay as you can park at the Fiesta Marina a sister property downtown and getting around Cabo is very easy. The new spa and workout facilities were just about completed and will be a great addition to this facility.

We traded to Hacienda from Playa Del Carmen. The resort is beautiful, the location however is very remote, 3 miles down a dirt road(soon to be paved) from the highway. There really is no beach, mostly big rocks you have to climb over to get to a very small beach. As for the shuttle to down, if you are not a member, it is $10 per person roundtrip per day unless you get it comped by attending the 90 min timeshare presentation. We did this, and the presentation was fairly low keyed, no high pressure and we were down in about 2hrs. In addition to the shutlte, we received 2 $50 gift certificates for dining in Cabo. So about $200 woth of stuff. As for the rooms, we were told Phase 1 was reserved for members only, everyone else goes into Phase 2. Our first room was on the 2nd floor, little view of any thing. We requested a move and on Sunday they moved us to the 5th floor and we had a spectacular view. All in all, the pools were really nice, we did not eat there much so no comment on the food. The staff was very nice and friendly. We wouldn't go back due to the remote location and no beach.

We just returned from a week at Hacienda Encantada and found the resort to be very nice. We were in Phase II, which just opened. In fact, we were the first to stay in the room. We had a beautiful view of the ocean and even though we had a studio, it was fine for two people.

Unlike a previous reviewer, I thought the bath towels were wonderful - fluffy and even had the resort name embroidered on them. You do receive towel cards which you exchange at the pool bar for beach towels. We just let them keep the towel cards all week, and exchanged our used towels for clean ones at the end of each day. That way, each morning we had clean towels ready to head to the pool. Most resorts utilize towel cards so it wasn't a big deal to us.

The pool in Phase II is a quiet pool area and we preferred the pools in Phase I, down by the ocean. They were absolutely beautiful!

There still was a lot of work going on in Phase II but we even enjoyed watching the workers put finishing touches on the fire pit, and the Tequila Bar.

We went on the tour (and we've been on a lot of time share tours) and this was one of the most pleasant. No pressure - we joked with the sales person the whole time - never bought and he knew we weren't interested but never pressured. The resort offers free shuttle to their sister resort on the Marina and that is a big plus. The only bad thing is that the last shuttle back leaves the Marina at 8;30 PM - a little early for night life. But you can always take a taxi - however they are rather expensive. It was $40 US round trip to WalMart in a Taxi. We've stayed a little closer to town in the past, and personally, I prefer that, but if you want a view and a nice clean resort, this is the one. Everyone working the resort was also very friendly. There was problems with the water in Phase II, so we were provided complimentary bottled water throughout our stay in our room. If we needed extra towels or whatever, they delivered them fairly promptly. All in all, if you remember why you're there - to relax - and treat the staff in a friendly, relaxed manner, service is great.

We even had rain for three days while we were there and we just kept thinking - we could sit in 85/90 degree rain or be back home in 40 degree rain - we decided we'd rather be in Cabo in the rain!

This resort will be beautiful when completed. There are several Phases yet to go, but I'd like to go back when they are finished just to see the difference.

People will always find things to complain about, but in the end, just having the resources to take vacations to places like Cabo should make you feel Blessed.

This new property is located on the corridor in Cab San Lucas, and provdes a quiet respite from the tourist town of Cabo. The location is excellent for those wanting to be "one" with the ocean, as crashing waves are just steps away from your room. The fully-furnished suites are designed with higher end details, and provide all the comforts of home including fully outfitted kitchens and a spacious bath. The pools are pristine, and the property is well maintained by a friendly staff. Stay in Phase 1 to be closest to the ocean, and requst a room away from any ongoing construction as this is still a property in development.
