Don't listen to the moaning of having to stay in Phase II, if you are not an owner. There are trade offs. Yes, in Phase I you have an ocean view that includes a constant view of Los Arcos an "lands end". But, you are further away from everything else the resort has to offer. Since there are no restrictions as to where you can go in the resort, if you are in the Phase II building, just walk down to Phase I, grab a lounge chair, and enjoy the view.
The low down. The food is good but pricey. Adult beverages: $5.00 (US Dollars), wine $12.00, and mixed drinks $10.00. We were there for 2 weeks, the only activity we encountered was Alberto. He sang and played the guitar. If you are a dancer his selections allowed for cha-cha, rumba, swing, foxtrot, and slow dancing. You will find Alberto at the Tequila Bar most nights.
The resort is kid friendly and offers two toddler pools, one with sprays and buckets that pour water on willing victims. A small food pantry is open until 10.00PM, items are expensive, but in a pinch they probably will have what you are looking for. The staff is there to please. We never walked pass an employee who did not greet us with an Hola, or buenos dias, or buenos tardes. House keeping comes everyday (a little excessive) but you always have a tidied unit and fresh towels.
