We stayed in the deluxe suite for 5 days in March 2013. There were 5 us and we all loved it. The room included 2 balconies. It was facing the ocean and the sun hit the balcony in the afternoon so we were able to spend a lot of time in private on the lounge chairs. We did not do the all inclusive, which we did not regret. It was about a $7 cab ride to town one way (and very easy to get a cab), so we took advantage of the local restaurants. The restaurants were not cheap. They are about $20 a plate almost everywhere but the hotel's all inclusive package ($90/person/day) did not seem worth it. There is a Walmart that is about a $10 cab ride away. You can stock the fridge with drinks and food for the hotel. The hotel includes a kitchen with everything in it (glasses, silverware, dishes, blender, baking dishes...). There is also a washer and dryer in the room, which was a great surprise!
There was a large pool and seats available on the beach. You would have to wake up at about 6 am to save a seat at the pool. The pool area is very calm (not for teenagers). There was hardly ever music playing, no bar in the pool, and no poolside activities like other hotels. The one teenager (19 years old) was pretty bored. The beach is nice, but there are constantly people trying to sell you items there. This is why we often just hung out on our balcony when we did not have a planned activity.
The staff is extremely nice here. The concierges are extremely helpful. Ask them for restaurant recommendations or to book any of your excursions. I did not book any activities until we got to Cabo, which happened to work out well. If you sit through their timeshare presentation, you get some deals on the excursions. It was a little bit cheaper than prices I saw online.
Also for sitting through with the presentation, we got a lot of free drinks. I did not sit through the presentation (my parents did), but they were traumatized. We were told it would only be 90 minutes but it was 4 hours long. Luckily, they held strong and did not purchase a timeshare and we were able to get gifts.
Overall, the place was very beautiful and spacious. I would recommend this place to everyone, unless you are teenagers looking for a wild time at your resort. But you could walk down the beach (about a 10 minute walk) and you will hit a wild area with lots of young partiers. Villa del Arco is in a great location as it is relatively close to town and the marina.
