“Wonderful vacation place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013 via mobile

Our family just got back from another amazing visit to Villa Del Arco. Not only is the place amazing, but so are the people....From Jorge Espinosa at the pool area, Julio the chef at the Taco bar, our amazing room custodian Jose Luis and finally to our concierge Cindy Bartz, everyone is so kind and intent on making sure we have a wonderful time. Even tho we don't use the all-inclusive option, there have been many refinements since last year. For instance you can now dine at La Casona, which is the restaurant at La Estancia. Previously you had to buy an upgraded all inclusive package to get this. If you are not on the all inclusive plan, be careful....the drinks and a lunch by the pool can quickly get costly. Our family will pick up our alcohol and mixers at Wal-Mart as we come into town next year. Thank you Villa Del Arco!

My girlfriends and I went on a "Girl's Getaway" for a week last August. We wanted to stay on the beach and not too far from town. We rented from an owner with no limitations as to which days we had to fly in or out....the place was a 2-bedroom, 3 bath, and could sleep 6-8 for $900/wk. The accommodations/grounds were very nice and we had a view of the pool. The pool does close ridiculously early (8pm?), which was one reason why I would not stay here again. By the time you got back from dinner and wanted to relax, the pool and hot tub were closed......like a geriatric hotel. They do however have a sister property that the hotel trolley can take you to for free.....I think that the pool there closed at 10pm......it has a slide, but it was a dirty looking pool. The other property is where they have a mexican fiesta dinner show...quantity of food not quality.....mooooo......did I just say that? :-) Villa del Arco did have a water aerobics class that a few of us participated in, but that was it. The pool gets really crowded during the day, make sure to get your lounge chairs early and grab an umbrella if you need it. We did not do the "all inclusive" so drinks can be spendy, although they offer a happy hour 2 for 1, make sure to ask for a strong drink, as they are watered down. There is no swim up bar, but the service is pretty good if you tip, and the food at the ship is not bad for appetizers. It is a 15-20 minute walk along the beach to "The Office" where they have good food to eat and entertainment. There is a bus stop out in front of Villa del Arco, which will take you into town for next to nothing. The hotel does try to get you to do a "90 minute presentation" for a 30 minute neck massage and a "gold card".....we passed on the offer.....not worth our time.

Beautiful place, the location is great not in the middle of city center so it stayes quite at night but if you like action a 15 min walk on the beach and you are in the middle of it with many restaurants and shops, you can also drive or take a quick cab ride. The resort has large super market and several top quality restaurants If you are not the type of a person that likes to get out of the resort. Overal this is a great place to spend a week or two.

We stayed in the deluxe suite for 5 days in March 2013. There were 5 us and we all loved it. The room included 2 balconies. It was facing the ocean and the sun hit the balcony in the afternoon so we were able to spend a lot of time in private on the lounge chairs. We did not do the all inclusive, which we did not regret. It was about a $7 cab ride to town one way (and very easy to get a cab), so we took advantage of the local restaurants. The restaurants were not cheap. They are about $20 a plate almost everywhere but the hotel's all inclusive package ($90/person/day) did not seem worth it. There is a Walmart that is about a $10 cab ride away. You can stock the fridge with drinks and food for the hotel. The hotel includes a kitchen with everything in it (glasses, silverware, dishes, blender, baking dishes...). There is also a washer and dryer in the room, which was a great surprise!

There was a large pool and seats available on the beach. You would have to wake up at about 6 am to save a seat at the pool. The pool area is very calm (not for teenagers). There was hardly ever music playing, no bar in the pool, and no poolside activities like other hotels. The one teenager (19 years old) was pretty bored. The beach is nice, but there are constantly people trying to sell you items there. This is why we often just hung out on our balcony when we did not have a planned activity.

The staff is extremely nice here. The concierges are extremely helpful. Ask them for restaurant recommendations or to book any of your excursions. I did not book any activities until we got to Cabo, which happened to work out well. If you sit through their timeshare presentation, you get some deals on the excursions. It was a little bit cheaper than prices I saw online.

Also for sitting through with the presentation, we got a lot of free drinks. I did not sit through the presentation (my parents did), but they were traumatized. We were told it would only be 90 minutes but it was 4 hours long. Luckily, they held strong and did not purchase a timeshare and we were able to get gifts.

Overall, the place was very beautiful and spacious. I would recommend this place to everyone, unless you are teenagers looking for a wild time at your resort. But you could walk down the beach (about a 10 minute walk) and you will hit a wild area with lots of young partiers. Villa del Arco is in a great location as it is relatively close to town and the marina.

we will be going back this year in july 2013...and are very excited to do so...Staff is awesome...very friendly especially the pool staff...they will get anything you ask for ...we definetly found who we wanted all week and just gave him an occasional extra bonus for outstanding service...he even saw us on our balcony and brought us up a round of drinks...also our rooms were beautiful but they decided to upgrade us to a room that was unreal...did I say penthouse...wrap around balcony Jacuzzi on it too.....it was BEAUTIFUL....the ocean is very swimmable right there too...breakfast,and lunch food was all very good dinner so so ...we actually ate at there other places and enjoyed those alittle more..that would be the only slight negative comment...trust me we did not let that ruin any part of our stay.....can't wait to return...

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

My boyfriend and I stayed at Villa Del Arco from March 6-13 2013.
This was my first time in Mexico and his second. He went to Cancun a few years ago.
We decided to try Cabo San Lucas after reading lots of great reviews about the quality of the accomodations & food, its variety of activities as well as the safety of this region.
Needless to say we we extremely impressed and would go back at any time.

A few things should be highlighted: Cleanliness, location, food and service.

1)Location is perfect. Hotel is located on Medano beach. The only part of the beach that
is safe to swim in. Pacific side of Los Cabos is considered too rough. Hotel is close to
the marina and city as well as Sam’s club and Walmart. Hotel is a good 40 minute
drive from airport.

2) Cleanliness : we have never seen such high level of cleanliness at a hotel.
Every part of the resort is scrubbed and attended to on a regular basis.
From the grounds to the rooms, I would give this resort a more than perfect grade.
We even noticed the on duty hotel manager doing the rounds and inspecting the
grounds with the workers. Cleaning ladies do an excellent job and go above and
beyond their role.

3) Food : Very tasty food. All restaurants at resort are worth trying. Another suggestions is to try the pizza at Villa Del Palmar and its Salad Bar. Tacos at Villa Del Arco are very popular. We didn’t book ‘‘all inclusive’‘ since we knew from reading previous reviews that there was not only a kitchenette in the room but also a Walmart close to the resort as well as a small market on hotel grounds. We also wanted to have the option of eating outside of the resort and in town near the marina. For your information, the all inclusive at Villa Del Arco is 89$US per person per day.

4) Service : Every employee that we dealt with at this resort had 1 thing in mind : customer satisfaction. From restaurant managers that can customize a meal for you, to a front desk manager who helped us get a better room, all staff was kind, courteous and always looking to make your stay better.

A few things should be noted :
On day 4 of our trip, spring breakers arrived to the hotel. Of the 3 hotels ( La Estancia,
Del Palmar and Villa del Arco ) Villa del Arco was by far the calmest and Del Palmar
was the party hotel for Spring Break.

We decided to do the sales / timeshare presentation in order to get the Gold Card. This card gives you 15 % off all restaurants and activities which can be very useful. It also gives you free Internet code at the Hospitality suite. Just beware of the pushiness of the sales reps. The presentation is said to be only 90 minutes but it lasted closer to 3 hrs and they really try everything in their power to get you to sign.

After talking to people at the resort, most have been to Los Cabos in the past and most also came back to Villa Del Arco via a timeshare program. Some are owners and some people purchased their accomodations via timeshare rental, which might be an option worth researching as it seems to be less expensive than via other travel sites.

Room Tip: Ask for a hight room ( floor 4 and up ) there are 7 floors in all. Also ask for ocean view. Call or...

We had the most wonderful vacation at the Villa Del Arco during spring break, in spite of the fact that we booked our trip via EXPEDIA, which is the worst travel booking agency that I have ever encountered. The "Deluxe Suite" booked via Expedia was little more than a closet with no view. The front desk recommends using Costco travel, which guarantees a room selection. Other than that, the property is so beautiful, modern, great facilities & the upgraded rooms are wonderful. The friendliest staff I have ever encountered, great pool, very nice beach (walking distance to the beach bars (the office), and the best food that we ate in Cabo, was in the restaurants on site. We will be coming back to the Villa Del Arco as soon as we can. If you pay for the all inclusive deal, the restaurants & drinks are well worth it.

Room Tip: Book a room with an ocean view if possible, the highest floor you can get. The 1 bedroom suite is h...
