Nice place, new, clean, beautiful sandy beach, nice water, nice pool area. Ok that said, we booked with a relative who is a travelocity "agent". Normally we book with AAA and have always had a good experience with AAA. Long story short is, we wanted a ocean front room, AAA said they could do it. But we used a relative to help them out with their bookings. They assured us they called the hotel and we had the ocean front room. We arrived there, and no ocean front room, in fact the hotel said they "never" give ocean front to internet bookers. Later in the week when we were moving our room to a better room, I heard another couple at the counter complaining about the exact same thing, so if you book this hotel, i suggest calling them to make sure you are getting the view you are expecting. If your like me, i dont like to be suprised like that on my vacation. We did the time share tour, i was irritated for about half of the day after that. Its just not for me.
The beach is beautiful white sand, but if your thinking of relaxing on it forget it. Every 1 to 2 minuts you have some peddler coming by asking if you want to buy "a hat, a blanket, some silver jewelry, some pottery, some shell jewelry, t-shirts, and cover ups. Then when you have seen it all, another batch of peddlers comes by, with exactly the same stuff, ALL DAY LONG! over and over and over. Even walking down the beach, you are pestered by peddlers renting wave runners, water taxis, parasailing, massages, horseback rides and tours.
Dont get me wrong, we rode ATVs, did the Zip line at wild canyon, did the parasailing behind a sweet 34 foot carrera (carlos 3), took the snorkle tour by sunrider, saw 3 whales on the way to snorkle, went to lovers beach, and had a great time. But the constant sales people was not for me, in town was not much better, there you get the timeshare sales people on most corners all yelling for you to come over and hear their deals.
Ok i got all that out. i probally will never go back to cabo. been to Riviera Maya, and Puerto Vallarta, and i prefer either of them to cabo.
The ATV tour was great, we took the one to migrino beach, wow, that was a beautiful and empty beach, we were the only people as far as you could see. nice.
Wild canyon zip line, Crazy fun! 2,673 foot zip line, photos, nice!
Overall, had fun, nice hotel, fun activities.
Best meal was at "Ponchos" in downtown, any taxi can take you there, good mexican food, nice atmosphere.
We did notice that the prices in the souviner shops raised alot when the cruise ships came in. For example my wife was looking at some hand bags, they were from 18 to 20 dollars over the weekend, (all cruise ships gone during weekends). then on tuesday we were back in town looking at the same handbags. Guess what the prices were? 45 dollars, at shop after shop, amazing! we did finally get one, for 15 dollars! but they started at 45. oh well supply and demand i guess.
I like Mexico, its big and has so many places to see and such a variety of country side, we always feel safe and have never gotten sick or anything. Cabo at night in the city, a little bit to much on the party side for me, if your not a drinker there is not to much to do.
Next trip for me, Tulum, mexico. look it up, its nice. not resort nice, natural beauty nice, unspoiled nice.

I recently took a group of 386 people to Villa Del Arco for a wonderful 8 Days. The hotel is gorgeous and perfect for families and all ages. They keep the grounds immaculate! The staff of the hotel was always friendly, helpful and there to please. We presented them with many challenges with a group of this size, but they always delivered. We had no problem what so ever with the Time Share people. You simply say, "NO"....end of story.

We had a perfect location to town and were offered the facilities of the two Villa properties next to us. A convenient store to shop for groceries made it wonderful for the families. A first class Spa and wonderful pool area....it has it all!
!
The rooms were spacious and offered kitchenettes or full size kitchens that were amazing. All in all, I would stay there again in a heart beat and happily recommend it to any future groups. We
can't thank the staff enough for a fabulous experience!

We stayed at the Villa Del Arco for 7 nights in late April 2008 in their one bedroom. The room itself was located on the west side of the resort, facing a retention basin/wash. If I stood on the balcony, I could see the ocean so it was considered an ocean view room.

The resort itself is beautiful. The pool is amazing and Jacuzzis are located all over the property. It sits right on the beach and not too far from town. There are three restaurants: a contemporary seafood restaurant called La Perla, a sushi restaurant called El Faro, and a casual pool restaurant called the Buccaneer. The Buccaneer is located on a large ship that sits in the lower end of the pool. If you are not on a meal plan, which we weren’t, the food and drink bill gets very expensive very quick. We ate at all the restaurants but we didn’t think the price was worth La Perla or El Faro. We did eat a bit of snacks at the Buccaneer. We also tried restaurants at the sister resorts of Estancia and Pallmar. The steak and seafood restaurant at Estancia was by far the best, but again extremely expensive.

Other options for food are everywhere. We found a great little place down the beach called Mangos. They have half priced drinks all day and a cheap $9pp Mexican buffet. Also, I highly recommend getting a gold card by sitting through the Del Arco timeshare presentation. It saves 15% on food, drink, marketplace items, etc.

The timeshare presentation is the usual 90 minutes. It took us about 2 hours total for the presentation and the additional check out. The timeshare people for Del Arco get you when you first check in. We found the timeshare presentation is negotiable for what you can receive when complete it. For example, we received money towards the shuttle back to the airport when we checked out, 2 excursions for half price, and the precious gold card. Again, I highly recommend sitting through it for the benefit.

Here are a few additional thoughts:
1) Our room faced the wash where they have drag racing every Saturday night. It starts about 11 pm and kept us up until daybreak.
2) There are many rooms facing the pool and the ocean itself. I recommend a room overlooking the pool. The pool never seemed really loud and those are the best views of the ocean.
3) The pipes make a lot of noise. As it happened, our neighbor upstairs used the restroom every morning at 2 am which was extremely noisy.
4) You can request a taxi to town at the front of the resort. The cost to the center of town (by the mall) is $7 each way for up to 4 people.

Overall, we felt the resort was a typical yet beautiful timeshare resort. Our biggest challenge was the expense of the food and drink as well as the location of our room.

In Cabo for a wedding and we just wanted a nice place to stay without constant salespitch to buy a timeshare. I think that goal is impossible in Cabo and you just have to learn ways to avoid the hassle. Upon arrival at the airport the onslaught begins with attempting to get a taxi to the hotel. If you want to avoid the timeshare people, DO NOT stop to talk to anyone offering taxi service. Proceed directly through the 2 sets of doors and grab your taxi outside. Better yet, arrange your taxi before arrival.
When checking into the hotel tell the front desk clerk that you do NOT want the Gold pass for the restaurants and DO NOT want to talk to timeshare reps. Ask for your roomkey and towel cards. You will be left alone if you are assertive.
The Villa del Arco is a beautiful resort with the only negative being an unswimmable beach and the timeshare nightmare. Food and drinks are way overpriced for the quality, but that is the same in most other resorts too. Avoid the breakfast buffet and head to Lennys via a short cab ride for consistently good breakfast for a lot less $$. It is a bit of a dive, but great, friendly staff and reasonable prices.
Be careful with the "honor" bar in your room. We were charged for items we never used.
If you need quiet, late mornings ask at check-in where the timeshare tours will be taking place and avoid rooms on that level. The constant parade begins quite early each day, and the clomping footsteps and chatter can be quite annoying if you are a light sleeper.
We stayed in a one bedroom with livingroom/kitchen area...also included convenient washer/dryer to make light packing an option. Bed was ok, pillows horrendous...might want to bring your own if you are a pillow freak.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, though sometimes slow, but it is Mexico and you are on vacation, so relax and enjoy!
This resort is a good location if you want convience to activities/downtown with a little less noise than the downtown locations. The marina is a 10 minute cabride if you want to do charterfishing.
Overall, we would probably consider Villa del Arco again, but will most likely try one on the resorts along the corridor for the next trip.

We loved this resort! We booked through a timeshare as a gift from a friend. our 2 1/2 year old loved it! There is a great pool for little ones. The trolley was fantastic! We took it over to the sister resort, only a two minute ride, for coffees and ice creams. The one bedroom suite was fantastic! It was a one bedroom apartment with stove, convection microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. We could cook meals and save on that.

There was not a DVD player, but we rented one at the sister resort. (We watched movies since we had early nights with our son.) They gave us a first floor unit that walked out to the pool. The maid service was great as well. She even filled our tub with bubble bath and flower petals, put on soft music and made towel swan with flowers!

The spa and workout center are great! I would have stayed there the whole time. Indulge in a massage, the best I ever had.

We just avoided the timeshare people with one statement. They did not bother us at all. They do offer a good all inclusive option you can use for a minimum of 3 days. But with a Sam's and Walmart, beer and food were in the room! We can't wait to go back......
