My husband and I just returned from a week at the Sheraton Hacienda and were pleasantly surprised. After reading some of the postings we wondered if we had made a mistake. But, we were very pleased with our entire stay. (We chose the Sheraton because we are Starwood Gold members and they offered a great deal!)

The front desk staff was very nice and cordial. Because of our Gold status we were ungraded to a beautiful ocen view room in building 29. Our room was pristine and very clean. One posting said that the rooms were tired. Ours was not. They can be noisey, however. We had a family with teenagers next to us who slammed the door at all hours of the day and night. Also, because the floors are tile you can hear the guests walking in the room above. Yes, the grounds are immaculate.

There have been several comments about the food. It is resort food. A little overpriced and not memorable. We have stayed at several resorts in other locations (St. John, Puerto Rico, Scottsdale and Hawaii, etc.) and it is usually the same. For breakfast we found Girasoles was considerably cheaper than the restaurant in the main building - Tomatoes, I think. Also, many of the bars have 2 for 1 drink specials at different times during the day. So, that is a bargain.

Our maid service was fine. Typically our room was cleaned after we left the room at 10 or so. There was one day when it was not cleaned so we called the fron desk and the maid came immediately.

Overall, we really enjoyed our trip to the Sheraton and would definitely go back again!!!

This is my 3rd trip to Cabo. First stayed at the Westin, second Pueblo Bonito Rose. I will NOT go back to this place. The pools were ok, the staff ok, but other than that, this was not my favorite. The food at the restaurants and poolside were not good, and way too overpriced. I couldn't help feeling like I was being held hostage. You are so far from anything you kind of have to eat there, but it isn't good and it is too expensive.

I know that at most resorts there is always the early morning rush to get a good spot by the pool- but this place was the worst. Mainly because it wasn't just a rush to get a good spot- it was a rush to get any spot. even the cheap plastic beach chairs they ran out of.

At the beginning of the stay they give you a "towel card". You then become obsessed with NOT LOSING your towel card. Because you then have to pay for the towel. I hated this. And then, you only get ONE towel. If these were nice, plush towels- I could understand. But these were not that great of a towel.

A few additional problems:
I called to see if there was a rollaway available. No one ever called back.

I called to see if robes were available (the paper wrappers that go around the robes telling you not to steal them were left in the room so I assumed they were available). First time I called they said they'd look into it- no response. Second time I called I was told they didn't give out robes.

There was a light burned out in my bathroom the whole time. Never got fixed.

Asked the concierge to make a reservation for us. He never called back. When I went to find out what happened he blamed the restaurant. Then he called the restaurant with me standing there and couldn't get us a reservation. I then asked if they could recommend an alternative. Since I figured I'd do a fancy night at my first choice some other night, I just wanted an inexpensive casual place (I have a family of six, so eating out gets pricey). The concierge said that the place they recommended was only 7-14 dollars for entree's- but good mexican food. The appetizers were more than that! We had already ordered drinks when they gave us menus so I felt a little stuck. Entrees were typical cabo $25-$35 a piece. Needless to say, NOT impressed at all with the concierge desk.

Given you have similar (or better) options much closer to CABO (i.e. Finesterra, Pueblo Bonito's, etc) I see NO reason to stay at this hotel. It just isn't that great. I could go on with another dozen little gripes but I'd seem like a whiner. My advice, stay closer to town.

I just came home from the Sheraton Tonite. I stayed their from 12/24/-12/31. My experience was interesting to say the least. The hotel is very nice, the staff is friendly and the weather could not have been better. It was 85, sunny, dry and not a cloud in the sky. I do need to let everyone know about some things the hotel needs to work on though. I am from NYC and this particular week there were quite a few guests from the NY/NJ area which brings me to this scenerio: There was a situation where some guests were paying off the hotel staff at the pool/beach to reserve chairs. This became evident for the first few days since I had to go to the beach at 7 AM to get two chairs for myself and my wife because all the chairs with mats were being taken by the hotel staff for the "chair reservers". People started to take notice and complain about this and this DEF was not the first time this occured at the Sheraton. They finally put a notice at the front desk saying you cannot reserve chairs but I still saw it going on even as I left on 12/31..The second thing is the price of food and beverage here. You can expect to pay $14 for a cheesburger and $16 for a chix ceasar salad at the beach. A bottle of water is $7.00. My suggestion which is what we did is to bring your OWN bottled water or go to COSTCOS which is like 10 minutes away by cab. And speaking of cabs, when you go to downtown Los Cabos, take the hotel shuttle for $10 round trip PER PERSON. The regular taxi is $20 each way regardless of how many people you have. My other advice is to look at your hotel bill CLOSELY BEFORE you check out! I left on 12/31 and requested by bill the day before. I found DUPLICATE charges on the bill totalling about $80 dollars. What they do is break down the bill between food/beverage and tip separately. So if you stay their for 7 days and you order drinks and food every day, your bill will show pesos but it will be broken down for each time you order. (ex: you order lunch for 30 dollars: 20 for the food 5 for the beverage and 5 for tip) so you basically have to match your receipts to the bill they give you to make sure you are not overcharged which we were! They adjusted the bill but make sure you get the bill the day before so they dont give it to you as you are leaving. Overall, we had a great time, very relaxing but the food was def overpriced and the "reserve chair thing" seemed to be addressed but who knows......Just make sure you bring your own snacks, water and save your receipts for every charge you make to your room...you will need it!

We stayed at the Sheraton for three nights at the end of a two week stay in Cabo. The resort is nicely landscaped, really enjoyed the tropical flowers. We had every meal on the resort and enjoyed them all. Our room was an ocean front level which had a wonderful view of the beach and sea but if you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you. The walls were so thin that you could hear everything! The staff was perfect! Very friendly and welcoming.

I stayed at the Sheraton Hacienda...Dec 16-20. I loved the place. The grounds are gorgeous. Great property with romantic setting. The landscaping is meticulous. The rooms are spacious with a wonderful bathroom. I found the staff to be friendly and ready to lend a helping hand. I felt totally secure and relaxed.

I did not eat at the restaurants as we rented a car and opted for the local restaurants for authentic Mexican cousine.

The pools are beautiful and the staff was friendly.

The only thing I didn't appreciate was that upon check-in, after a very long travel day we were hit up for time share pitches disguised as an orientation of the property. I found that pretty annoying and let them know of my feelings.
