This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed. The front desk staff was very rude when we checked into the hotel, they did not have the rooms that we had reserved. We paid for an ocean front room and they put us in a room that we could not use the balcony because there was construction in front of our room. The refrigerator was broken. There were cockroaches in the room. The staff argued with guests over everything! We thought the food was below average and very expensive. This vacation was ruined because of the hotel and the staff. If you have any other choices do not choose this hotel. They consider themselves a 5 star hotel but they do not have any idea what a 5 star hotel represents. We were shocked at how the staff treated their guests.

Visaited Hacienda Del Mar Resort Sept. 24 thru Oct. 1. Resort was super and had great pools with views of the oceans and lots of happy hours. ( 2 for 1 drink specials).

Thr room was decorated beautiful and very spacious. We had a great view of dessert, golf course and ocean from our balconey. We ate at Girasoles and Tomatoes two of the restaurants at the resort. Food was delicious but expensive. Great views of the ocean from the restaurants. The staff were all excellent. Enjoyed going downtown Cabo but taxi was expensive $20 one way. You could get a shuttle for $10 which included round trip but the last shuttle left downtown Cabo at 9:30.

Took a glass bottom boat ride and saw a lot of neat fish. The gentlemen that took us on the boat ride told us a lot about Cabo. Lots of neat restaurants around the marina. Of course went to a lot of local bars: Cabo Wabo, Giggling Marlin, El Squid Roe.

Met a lot of nice people at the resort. Good food and very relaxing vacation.

Spent a week at this resort on a company awards trip. We visited friends at two other resorts while we were there and we definitely were at the most fabulous spot! What a beautiful place. We like good food and pool drinks and expected to pay premium prices for them, so we weren't shocked when 4 drinks and two burgers by the pool was $30. If that's not ok with you, I suggest the little grill down by the spa - they have fabulous pepperoni pizza that's cheap and ping pong while you wait!

I was really skeptical about staying here after reading about all the illness. I'm a little bit of a "mexico" germ freak having been sick before in that country... and I didn't want to get sick here. To my pleasure, this had to be one of the most beautiful and cleanest places I had ever stayed. There were at least 5 people cleaning something the whole time. They were scrubbing the railings on the steps, the concrete on the walkpaths, even the walls outside our villa. I don't think any germ could live very long there.

My favorite part about this resort was the pools. They're cold - so get ready - but they are so beautiful. Go down first thing in the morning and place a towel or you aren't going to get a chair. I had a beachside massage on my birthday that was awesome and great.

Rent a car if you're going to stay here. We rented from Budget for $15 a day - unlimited miles. OK - it was a junk car - but who cares? It got us into town and no cab fares. We also got to the airport faster than our counterparts who were taking shuttles and cabs when it was time to go home.

Bring ear plugs. The tile floors in the villas make it very very loud - not condusive for sleeping in. We could hear the people above us walking across the room. But the beds were comfy and the rooms were clean and dark for good rest after a day at the pool. We popped in our ear plugs and slept like rocks.

This is a beautiful place. Be ready to spend some money eating and drinking, but it's definitely worth it. I would go back tomorrow!

I read through this forum before embarking on my trip to Cabo, and I was a little leary, but let me just say that my stay at the Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar from September 15 - 18, 2005 exceeded my expectations.

We had an amazing room with the most incredible view of the ocean (Room 2011). The hotel was spotless and well-groomed, and the staff was great. The food was wonderful as well. The time share folks were there, and I knew from reading this forum not to pick up the not-so-well-disguised "Welcome Packet". We did get a phone call in our room from the time share folks, when we didn't pick up our packet, but I explained that we were not interested, and they didn't push this issue.

I would definately recommend this place to anyone going to Cabo. My only negative comment would be DON'T GO TO CABO IN SEPTEMBER. It's hot! Very hot! And very, very humid. I have lived in Las Vegas NV for 35 years, so when I tell you a place is hot, I mean it! Head there October through April, and skip the 95- 100 degree time period.
