First, my family and I travel frequently. We've been all over the world and have stayed in a wide variety of accomodations, from the most posh to average hotels. The Sheraton Hacienda del Mar is at the bottom of our list.

My family and I spent 8 days at the Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar and would NOT recommend this hotel. First, upon arrival, you are given a sales pitch for the timeshares. Having absolutely no interest and a full day of travel I found myself in the wrong state of mind for vacation - not what a hotel should do. Shame on you Sheraton. Next problem was the renovation of a bar between the 2 main pools. From 9am to 6pm there were jackhammers, drills, hammering etc.. I live in NYC, don't really need this on vacation. When I made the reservation nobody said there would be renovations and there was no notice on the website either - shame on again Sheraton. Finally, needed hotel maintenance staff in our rooms 3 times during our stay to repair toilets and tubs. My advice to this hotel is to shut it down for a few weeks to do necessary repairs.

On the plus side, the hotel staff was very nice and the location and setting quite beautiful.

We ate at all the restaurants and found them avaergae and overpriced - my recommendation is to go to San Jose Del Cabo for dinner - The food is superior.

We would definately come back to Cabo, we just would NEVER stay at this hotel again.

This was the first tropical vacation for my husband and I. We had a relaxing, but not perfect holiday. The grounds, ocean/beach and location of this resort were beautiful. Our room was nice, the porch with ocean view a plus, all the pools were lovely, the staff were accomidating and friendly. However, our biggest gripe was cost of food and beverages the LACK OF COMPLIMENTARY transportation to and from Cabo, San Jose, or the airport from the resort. Considering the prices at the Sheraton, charging $10.00 a person round trip (for every ride!) to only Cabo was irritating. While the retaurants and drinks at the resport were good, they were pricy. Therefore, getting to Cabo for entertainment, (and a little change in atmosphere) or San Jose for activities, (and purchasing groceries and beverages) or even back to the airport became a source of stress and inconvience. Also, the shuttle only leaves and picks-up every 1.5 hours, and leaves for the last time from Cabo at 9:30. So enjoying a late dinner and some margaritas after 10 will require an even pricier taxi back. We will investigate other resorts before returning to the Sheraton. Its inconviences and the cost of available food and drink have caused us to look elsewhere for our next vacation.

We just returned from a wedding at the Sheraton in Cabo. Our experience was very pleasing. The hotel & its grounds are a paradise in the middle of a desert. The people were very friendly, maids, gardners, & wait staff. We did not do the time share presentation. We know better, they are very aggressive anywhere you go. The room was clean & very nice. We had a deluxe oceanview. It partially viewed the ocean & the golfcourse. It was very quiet & away from all of the activity at oceanfront & had it's own pool outside our building. We ate at Tomatoe's often. Pricey. but offered a good variety & was very, very, good. We also ate at St Cortez. Very very very pricey, but good as well. The beach was gorgeous, but we chose not to swim, it looked too dangerous, but there are plenty of pools. We took many walks on the beach day & night. The taxi's are $5.00 us dollars per person one way. Not too bad unless you go into town often. We only went into town twice. We enjoyed staying in the calm setting of the hotel. You will enjoy your stay if you come with the knowledge it is expensive coming to Cabo. You will pay alot of money for anything at such a top shelf resort. We don't usually do trips like this, but the wedding brought us here & we loved every moment we were here. Our daughters, 11 & 16 also enjoyed the hotel very much. If we are able to one day we would like to visit the Sheraton again.

We just returned from a 8 day stay at Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar Resort with our two daughters. I loved the architecture and the manicured grounds. We have all travelled the world, but have never encountered a time-share registration-deal forced down-your-throat which we found ourselves involved in right after our arrival. I did not even know what hit us! The lady was a great salesperson in the lobby. Anyway we were not able to check into our room which was supposedly being cleaned until after 3:00 pm (check-in-time) and were referred to the Tomato Restaurant, I heard later from most other guests they had encountered the same scenario. Makes you wonder. Anyways my husband did not like the food at any of the restaurants at this resort other than Pitaya's, which was great. The restaurants are all way overpriced, also in town, $2,000 for food alone was not enough for the four of us for our 8 day stay! Three of us got sick halfway into our stay with the stomach flu, I needed a Dr. because I fainted from god knows what. He thought it was not the food we had at a certain restaurant in town the day before, not sure what caused it, but I did hear other people talk at the pool about the same symptoms. If I went to Cabo again, I would certainly stay in a room with a kitchenette and at least be able to prepare a bowl of oatmeal with some fruits for breakfast. Thank you. The store at the restort was not open due to construction. But we all got a lovely tan and did have a good time despite all the little handicaps. Would I return, I'd have to really think about that one....

Well, where can I begin. WE arrived in Cabos about 4:00 pm. This was our first trip to Cabos. We got our very first passports. Our first flight since I was a youngster! At the time we arrived the weather was of course very warm and humid ...a little breeze (warm breeze) It was really different coming in having to go through the declaration deal. (form you feel out with passport info. The people at the entrance were very helpful and friendly.

We rented a car at Thrifty's rental car. My husband did not want to get insurance on the car. (we have insurance at home with AAA) but I told my husband that AAA did not cover outside the United States) Since he told the guy that he did not want the (30.00) a day insurance he ran our credit card for 2000.00 and my credit line was only 1100.00 so of course it did not go through. hey asked if we had another credit card. We told them no! (and really we did not have another credit card I just cut them all up prior to and only kept one) My husband was going back and forth with them. So we got the insurance, which was smart. It was a total of 333.45 (Nissan ) On top of that the guy told us about a 90 minute meeting (TIMEShare ) just for listening we would get 100.00 and we could give it to them towards the car or do whatever. Plus discounts on all the activities etc. And also he asked for a 20.00 deposit to reassure that we would attend and if we did we would get it back.Ok OK getting really long here. To make the long story short., when we arrived at the Sheraton, we got somewhat of a better deal on the Timeshare meeting. We received breakfast, 100.00 cash, our 20.00 back 100.00 for restaurant of our choice on the premises and I got a 20 percent discount on the day spa.

The hotel was beautiful. The bell boy (Alex) very friendly and other guy too. Forgot his name. Our room was beautiful. Nice mable like cement floors?? Big Shower. Large enough for two people. (hey now) Two sinks flat screen TV. Our room overlooked the garden, pools and you could see the ocean. It was very peaceful not a lot of noise. Beware ot the long distance calls. The charge 1.oo per minute. They charge you just to hook up with the operator about 4.00. The charge for everything just about. Called for room service just to get 2 bowls for our cereal and it took at least 30 minutes. I am glad that I was not starving. Also when you go shopping be sure that you know how to convert your PESO's to the American dollars or you could get cheated out!

Anyway, yes I would go back to Sheraton! Beautiful place!!
