My husband and I stayed at the hotel from Apr 29th-May 4th, 2005. This by far is a five star hotel, the grounds and hotel are super nice. We were upgraded to an ocean view suite, which was only $125 more a night. It was way worth it. The rooms were large, with a kitchenette, walk in shower, huge deck, and jacuzzi tub. It was also very quiet at night across the entire hotel grounds, which was nice. The resort grounds were by far the prettiest we have stayed in yet (Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Cabo). The hotel is quite large though, and if you have a room away from the beach, you will walk some distance. The 23 acre beach is very clean, and the waves are very large and breathtaking. You cannot swim in the ocean at this hotel. The hotel restaurants are very few, not alot to choose from. But, what is there, is quite nice and the food is good. Breakfast at Tomatoes is kind of expensive, $26 per person for the buffet. Here is a little trick..request "take out" breakfast, instead of eating at the restaurant, and it is only $16 per person. Hotel service was okay, not the best I have seen, kind of slow at times. Make sure you cash out your American $ early, sometimes the hotel did not have enough cash on hand to accomodate you. Pool side bars are good, make sure you wait for Happy Hour at 11-12 and 3-4. Drinks are 2 for 1. The resort has a shuttle to take into town at $10 per person round trip, this is a nice feature, but this should have been included with the hotel, like other hotels in the area. The city of Cabo is nice, lots of restaurants to eat at and lots of shops. Within the marina, the eating is the best, but most do not get crowded until 8pm or later. Make sure you take the glass bottom boat ride out to the Arch for $12 per person. They will also drop you off at Lover's beach, which is really nice, but make sure you take your bug spray. Overall hotel was great, food was good, but taxi's to and from the city got really expensive.
