I have visited the Sheraton Hacienda on numerous stays to Cabo. The hotel complex which is a series of 3 or 4 story villas all connected by winding cobblestone pathways with flowing fountains and glittering palm trees. You first see the dramatic sprawling property from the highway. At night time the glowing buildings give a truly Mexican feel as if you were entering a small village in itself.

The staff here are just amazing. They win over your heart and give you a feeling that your family. Everybody knows me by name and great me with genuine warmth and happiness to see me.

The front desk Manager and agent gave me a wonderful suite on te top floor of the main building. The view from my enormous balcony was of the entire pool area and beautiful beach beyond. The manger told me this was her favorite suite in the entire hotel.

The winding infinity pools are very attractive and well laid out. the beach are is very clean and the beach attendants assist you immediately as soon as you step on the sand. Asking you where exactly to place your chairs and Umbrella.

Cabo is a pristine strip of beach in an area with the most perfect climate. Sunny dry weather is a guarantee each and every time. While there are more meticulous and luxurious hotels throughout the area. For the cost of under $200, The sheraton and its wonderful staff is a great option and its proximity to the downtown area and the Marina makes it even better.

We stayed for 6 days in mid-Nov and had a really nice time. When we checked in they tried to schedule a timeshare pitch but we politely declined and never were bothered about it again. Our room was nice sized, with a large bathroom. We stayed in an Ocean View Room which overlooked the golf course and had a partial ocean view. Our deal came with a $200 food and beverage credit which was nice since we took advantage of eating and drinking poolside. There were drink specials throughout the day at the different pools which was nice. The wait staff was attentive and friendly at all times. The grounds were very well maintained. The shuttle is $10 a person round trip to Cabo which is cheaper than an cab, we took advantage of it a couple of times. The beach is a little rough but there were still people in the water. Had a nice up front view of a pod of whales in the ocean while we were laying out poolside. Only downside is that the pools seemed to get really crowded and to get well positioned lounge chairs we had to go out before 8 a.m. to get a chair. Our experience was overall very good and we would not hesitate to return to this hotel.

Our room was beautiful - big nice blue and white tiled shower, traditional and modern. Spacious room. Spacious balcony with sit up chairs. Nice bed. All good stuff. The hotel and grounds? All A+. One 'annoyance' is the massive generator by the parking lot, it is noisy. But really, the attention and care taken with the grounds and foliage are outstanding. The pools are really beautiful and even though very busy with us dirty messy humans,, the area is kept super clean. There is one pool that doesn't have music. Like most places, there is a mild clash from area to area with uneccesary music which may be a slight bother for discerning ears. However- the attention to detail with tile mosaics on the bottoms of the pools, and the real life big boulder boundary between pools, and the cleanliness are all outstanding and well worth visiting. The ocean. If you are a confident water person, on some days the ocean was beautiful for swimming. Ducking into the intimidating waves, and popping up over the other side, was amazing fun. Getting out could be tricky - but good excersize...oh, the gym was high end too. The water was warm and beautiful. The restaurants might seem pricey to certain budgets. But try and see beyond that. For a few dollars more than what is paid at home, you get extraordinary service and extraordinary quality of food. With an extraordinary view. Well worth it for at least one meal a day!! We also took when we first arrived, an expensive taxi to Walmart to get food for the room. The architecture and design is all fab. So is the complimentary coffee station in the early hours outside the lobby. Overall, we loved it and yes, we are going back.

We recently stayed at the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar.
First, let me say that my husband and I have traveled all over Mexico, and usually stay at adults only, all-Inclusive resorts, so this was a different experience.
If you are looking for a QUIET resort, this is the place for you.
We stayed in an ocean front room, which was clean, neat and nicely appointed. In addition to being a hotel, there are timeshare units, which are connected to this property. Both the hotel and timeshares share the entire property including its restaurants, beaches, pools, etc. Upon check-in, you are given a welcome package, along with a pitch to come listen to the timeshare presentation for a $200 hotel credit.
The property is situated between downtown Cabo and San Jose del Cabo, so it is an easy cab ride, but cost for a cab is $20 each way into town, and half that using the hotel's shuttle service, and other than pools and a nice beach (which they recommend not swimming in), there's not much to do so going into town gives you options.
Frankly, I was not wowed by the experience. While the hotel, grounds and our ocean front room was clean and well maintained, the food was "adequate" and pricey (for example, the breakfast buffet cost $53 a day for two people), and there was no nightlife to speak of. On the upside, the hotel staff was great. Always courteous and friendly, as has always been my experience while traveling in Mexico.
Overall rating: Adequte. I just wasn't "wowed".
