My husband and I are SPG Rewards Members and have the SPG Credit Card as well because we are big believers in the quality of the hotels in the Starwood program. Unfortunately, we were unable to be upgraded due to the hotel being booked over the holidays.

The hotel itself is located about 10-15 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas and we rented a car during our stay to visit the town, marina and San Jose. Taxis are very expensive. On the plus side the hotel grounds are exceptionally beautiful, well landscaped and spread out. The pools were numerous with something for everyone. Our pool which was the "Delphines" was the most quiet and we were easily able to find chairs each day. We ate at three of the four restaurants including their gourmet restaurant Pitahayas and were pleased with the high quality of the food and the service at each restaurant. We have read about the price of the breakfast buffets at $26pp but we found we could order off the menu for about $10-12pp and the portions were huge. The lunches at the poolside restaurant were also very reasonable and comprable to what you would find in the states. The high costs are found in the price of wine (3
X markup), beer at $5.00 apiece and drinks which ranged from $12-15 per margarita. We would recommend taking a taxi to a minimart, Costco or the brand new Super Walmart and loading up on water and drinks.

The fitness center is great and recently renovated with personal tv's built into the cardio machines. My only serious complaint was that I scalded my hand on the water machine inside the gym. There was no sign or indication that there was a hot water (boiling hot) spout next to the cold water. I complained to the folks at the spa desk that this was very dangerous and someone could be seriously hurt if they were caught unawares like I was. We did not see any correction however the remainder of our stay. Who on earth needs boiling hot water in a gym in Cabo anyway???

The rooms themselves were large, clean, with quality linens and very comfortable mattresses and pillows. The rooms also came with pillows. I would not describe them as luxurious but they are up to date and very comfortable.

My husband and I have traveled extensively and found the Sheraton an excellent choice based on service, onsite amenities, grounds and rooms. It is a great choice for couples and families.

I stayed at the time share side of Hacienda Del Mar in October 2007. It is a BEAUTIFUL hotel. The grounds are stunning. The pools and beach are also gorgeous. (what other adjectives can I use?) Our room was also nice. I had stayed here once before and read reviews from Trip Advisor, so I knew what to expect when it comes to the food and drink prices. They are high, like everyone says. We brought some food with us and also went to Costco our first day, filled up the condo, and bought very little food and drink at the resort. There are 2 for 1 drink specials all day long at the various pools and restaurants. So, check your hotel guest newspaper and take advantage of those. The pool staff are great. When you go to get your towel, they escort you to a lounger, set out your towel, and put up an umbrella for you.
There are some beach vendors, but they are so much more polite than those you will find in town or at the airport. You can just shake your head no, and they will keep walking. Such a relaxing place! Go there if you have the opportunity!

We spent 13 days, 12 nights here the last week in August, first week in September for our honeymoon. Yes, there are nicer (and significantly more expensive) hotels in Cabo. However, our room was absolutely gorgeous with unobstructed views of the ocean, overlooking the infinity pool in the main hotel building. We had a huge balcony, and enjoyed many candlelit dinners out there. Our way around the expensive breakfast was to order room service to share. There is plenty of food. Also, the mexican restaurant has cheaper breakfast and amazing views compared to the hotels main restaurant. The upscale restaurant on the property, Pitahayas was WONDERFUL. We are from NYC and the food was as good as any top NYC restaurant. Great wine selection and great menu. The lobster risotto was the best!

We left the hotel most nights to explore the fancier hotels and enjoyed many great meals outside. The restaurant at Esperanza and the Palmilla were our favorite dining options; however the stay at the Hacienda was fantastic.

We would definitely return and stay at the Hacienda again. It is a great value without comprimising service especially when you are staying for 7+ days. The concierge staff was very helpful as well. We did get roped into a timeshare breakfast but committed to nothing expect for a pretty good free breakfast.

Also, don't miss the Tequila bar - ask the bartender for his recommendation and you'll be converted to a lover of Tequila you can actually sip!

I was married at the Sheraton in July. We had 110 guests stay at the property. Everyone loved it! There are several pools including an infinity pool and one with a swim up bar. The rooms are very nice and have great jacuzzi tubs big enough for 2! The hotel itself is beautiful and offered a lot of great photo opportunities.
There are several restaurant options to choose from although they are all a little pricey, but I guess that is what is expected at a nice resort.
We can't wait to go back!
