Words cannot explain how wonderful this hotel/spa is.

The hotel itself is beautiful and very, very clean. There must be some aromatherputic smells they waft through the lobby area, because as soon as we arrived, I felt relaxed. The nice warm towel they give you when you arrive is just an extra bonus.

The staff- overall, were very attentive and friendly (especially the bellhops). The wait staff at the pool area had a lot of people to handle, so they did their best to be attentive.

The room was immaculate and gorgeous. The bed was extremely comfortable. **make sure you call to get some of their special pillows** the pillows on the bed origionally are fine, but the feather ones are top notch. The only downside to the room were the rock part of the floor, in which we continually stubbed our toes upon. I could honestly care less about the prices of the mini-bar. Yes, a Voss water is 12.00, but as other reviewers stated, you can buy water at the shop downstairs for a lot cheaper and take it back to your room. We did get turn-down service for only one of the nights. Seemed they came while we were showering to get ready and did not want a maid in the room. She would smile and give us fresh towels and chocolate, so thats nice enough~

The view--- from every room I imagine, is the best view. If you leave your balcony doors ajar, you can hear the ocean as you sleep (and also the wind, which can sound like a screaming banshee at times). However, I could spend an entire day just sitting on the balcony looking at the view. That alone made this a great hotel.

NO KIDS- what else can I say. I would come back here simply because of that reason....

The food: The breakfast at Siempre, was nothing exciting. I would simply just go to the small market and get a muffin or breakfast sandwich instead (the coffee is better there too)However, after a long few days we tried it again for dinner. It was delicious!!!! I enjoyed every bite of it...and I did not find it to be that over priced at all. For 4 people (who like to drink) our bill was only 300 USD and this included an appetizer for each, dinner and dessert, and drinks of course. The food at the pool was nice and always hit the spot after a long day in the sun. (shimp tempura tacos, yum)----

The timeshare deal- NO HASSLE at all! They could tell we were worn out from traveling and was basically stated a simple no, and they validated our drink tickets and off we went and never heard from them again. They did not even let us know they were timeshare people, we just assumed and found out later they were. HOWEVER, WHEN i go back-- I will take them up on the tour. I heard it was only 90 minutes from some of the guests and they got A TON of discounts for doing it...to include 100.00 bar tab, 200.00 for dinner and things to do in town. That is worth it (given that some of the drinks are pricey and if you like to have a cocktail like us)

Activities- we did participate in the scuba class and went scuba diving--- can't beat it! 60 USD for a long, beautiful dive. I watched the water aerobics, and they looked like they were having so much fun. The instructor bought the women a drink and they just swam around with their swim-noodles and chatted at the end and seemed as if they all became friends.

YOU JUST cannot beat this resort. It is beatuful, serene and top notch for your $$$.

My new husband and I selected the PB Pacifica as the hotel to stay for 7 days while we were married in Cabo. We also urged all of our friends and family to stay there. We were so happy with our choice. It is a beautiful property in Cabo. Clean, new , beautiful, modern. The spa is spectacular! The service wonderful! Food excellent, view incredible, beaches fab! I could go on and on. I am a former Ritz Carlton employee and wedding planner, I am very particular! I will be honest so here goes........

1. The internet cafe and deli ...great bargain for cabo!
2. Shrimp tacos and nachos and the pool bar ...awesome!
3. We rented a bed on the beach with a butler and ipods, worth the 90 dollars!
4. did the timeshare pitch ...the 300 dollars came in handy
5. concierge fabulous!
6. very windy and cool at nites...beware of this, bring appropriate attire.
7.wedding planner on site...we did not do our wedding on property we decided to host it at cabo del sol and i am happy about this choice, but considering they knew we were getting married they did not do one thing special for us even though we brought 30,000 worth of biz to the hotel, so that was not cool.
8. the director of sales was very mediocre not impressive
9. some of the staff was borderline rude there is a feeling that they are bitter because all of the americans coming to cabo in there country, part of this made me feel awkard as i am always kind to staff at hotels because i come from the service industry...this only happened with 20% of the staff but it happened so it is no 5 star resort trust me!!!
10. rooms are small, get a suite if you can swing it
11. don't do your wedding here, too windy and kind of casual
regardless we hope to go back but cabo is so expensive!

My husband and I are in our late 20s and we absolutely loved Cabo! There was free shuttle service to/from the hotel to downtown, so we saved money on taxi fare. The food was great at the local restaurants as well as on the hotel premise. We got to party it up in the evenings at the local bars and the clubs like Cabo Wabo. By the way, Zoo was completely filled with high-schoolers on spring break. The spa treatments at Holistic are amazing, and the staff is wonderful, friendly, totally accomodating, etc....

We attended the time share presentation, and I think it was completely worth it. We received $200 credit towards food/drinks at the Pacifica hotels (chain of 3), $50 credit towards the spa, and discounts all almost all activities. Our group didn't show any interest at all with our salesman from the get-go, and he got the point that we weren't interested and cut our meeting short. We were respectful about it, but I'm sure these folks get people like us attending just to receive the perks.

Holistic was zen-like and tranquil. Definitely not a place to bring your children!

My Husband & I stayed at the Pacifica the week of the 13th - the 21st, not nearly long enough.
From the minute you enter the doors, you feel a sence of calm and are greeted with Lavender wet towels & an incredibly friendly staff.
This vacation was exactly what we desired and needed.
As full time employed parents, this resort was everything we could have ever asked for, relaxing, serene, peaceful & absolutely beautiful !!!
We spent several nights in town ( took the taxi for $10), ate at Mi Casa ( our favorite everytime we come to Cabo) and went dancing at Cabo Wabo. But I must say returning to the Pacifica every night was the best part of our vacation.

I won't repeat all the reviews, only validate all of the positive aspects of this resort.

The funny thing about the timeshare presentation, was that my husband wanted to do it , but I was not crazy about it, and we were NEVER approached. I feel sorry for those who were and did not want to be, but alot of people we spoke with actually bought, so they must have some great sales people :)

Bottom line, we loved every minute here and one of the best parts was all of the great people we met at the pool and the overall peace & quiet. We love kids, but there was no kids around making us wish we had brought ours, so the guilt was relinquished by being here :)

A couple of notes: book transportation ahead of time with Trans Cabo or Greyline, we were SO glad we did.
And a quick warning about the airport. When you fly Alaska the line is huge so get there early and also,we witnessed several people purchase alot of Alcohol before leaving the airport. Great if you are flying direct, but if you have a connecting flight, they will NOT let you take it on the next flight, even though they say you can in Mexico. We saw some very upset people in the LAX airport !!

Highly recommend this resort, it is from now on our 'alone' vacation.

Enjoy !!!

Overall Pacifica made for a very enjoyable, relaxing vacation for my wife and me. If you're like us - mid-30's, no children, vacation once or twice a year - you really research where to stay and what to do not only to maximize your dollar, but also your time. Pacifica met every expectation we had (though did not beat expectations). The best part about the hotel is the juxtaposition it serves to Cabo San Lucas. We LOVED Cabo - going out, partying, eating dinner, the craziness of the town - but even more, we LOVED coming back to the tranquil, peaceful setting at Pacifica. The idea of staying on Medano Beach makes me want to vomit, between the kids, the vendors, the noise, etc.

What are the best parts of Pacifica - the pool is great. The service around the pool is great (though slow at times). The food at Siempre', and the rest of the resort, is fairly good and not that expensive in comparison to some restaurants in Cabo. It can be expensive though (Cabo, I found, was pricey as a general rule). Our room was nice, but don't hold out for an upper floor room. We did, and got two queen beds. Not worth it, though we did enjoy the balcony every evening before dinner. Also, Pacifica is close to Cabo. A very quick $10-12 cab ride vs. the long ride from corridor hotels. Additionally, we did have dinner at La Frida one night (at Sunset Beach) and it was outstanding. Very delicious. Outstanding service. Again, prices comparable to the nicer restaurants in the area. Spa was awesome. My wife used it more than me, but I did spend one morning in the sauna, whirlpool, etc and it is really clean, and very serene. No, I did not mean to rhyme that last sentence.

So, what is the bad? Stay away from the darn time share presentation. You may think the credits and free breakfast are worth it, but after being STUCK for 2.5 hours, we literally were walking out with the representative berating us for not buying, and how 60% of people end their marriages in divorce in the U.S. and that those who vacation together, only divorce 7% of the time... etc, etc. Awful experience. The sad part is, we may have actually bought one if the gentleman had taken a different approach. The turkey even let us walk - excuse me, run - out w/o our credits; we had to go to the reps at Pacifica to ensure we got our $200 food and $100 spa. Again, not worth it. OK - so beyond that, it was windy. And not just a little windy, but a pretty steady cold wind off of the Pacific Ocean. It didn't bother us one bit, but was kind of a nuisance. After a Chicago winter, it still felt warm. No, you can't go in the ocean, but it is beautiful, and running/walking on the beach is fantastic - especially in the morning before the wind kicks up. Right now, Pacifica sits all by itself, undisturbed, and you have a mile of beach to yourself to linger, run, whatever. I say right now b/c there is a whole master community planned there, with Nicklaus golf courses, another high-end hotel, and private homes. There are other minor irritants, but nothing I've not experienced elsewhere and actually far fewer incidents that my wife and I have encountered at a variety of hotels and resorts elsewhere in Mexico.

Some things we really enjoyed about Cabo - The Office, Ediths, Panchos, going to Cabo Wabo and El Squid Roe (yes, cheesy, but so what, it was fun). A bar on the marina called BAROMETRO - it would be right at home in Miami Beach. All of this was very convenient to Pacifica, and still far enough away that you don't have the mess that Medano Beach has. All in all, we will go back to Pacifica.

  • Liked — Excellent, beautiful, well maintained resort.
  • Disliked — The timeshare deal is annoying at best. Rude at worst.
