We have just returned from the Pacifica and we could not have wanted for a better experience. The hotel is just beautiful, very well designed and peaceful in its setting and from the moment you arrive you are greeted with impeccable service that continues throughout your stay.

The Pacifica is a quiet hotel that has a choice of amenities and options that it is by no means a boring hotel. Taxis into town are reasonable at $10 each way, (which is the same cost as some of the other hotels closer to town!) Cabo itself is a little tacky, the Marina is nice and offers a slightly more upmarket feel with its restaurants and a very cool bar. Hire a car and explore the surrounding areas though, you can go off road with a jeep and find beautiful coves for fantastic snorkeling and breathtaking views along the coast.

The rooms are nicely decorated in calm colours and muted lighting with one of the most comfortable beds that we have ever experienced, and you get to choose your choice of pillows. The balcony had a great view overlooking the pool and the mesmerizing ocean shoreline - which is just great to watch and relax to. The balcony is furnished with very comfortable padded seats to relax in. Ask for at least a room on floor 3 and above and block B is probably the best. Maid service was very good and turndown service each night.

The food in this resort is truly first class and we ate at the Siempre restaurant all but one night. The menu is very extensive, not pricey and absolutely delicious choices no matter what your taste. They also have healthy options that are full of flavour and low in fat. The style of Siempre is equivalent to some of the fine dining restaurants we have sampled in cities around the world with a home made bread selection, a sample from the chef to get your taste buds tingling and meals that tempt your eye as well as your palate. The pool menu is also first class.

Unfortunately on our second night we ate out in the resort of Cabo, and I became very sick and was in bed for 2.5 days, the resident doctor had me back on my feet within 12 hours of calling him and the hotel staff could not do anything more to make me comfortable and help in any way they could. My first meal in three days was room service and again they went beyond the call by preparing a very light dish for me.

The pool areas were delightful, as throughout the hotel they are very clean, the loungers are very comfortable and everything is on hand. We loved the four poster beds on the beach complete with thick mattresses, pillows and billowing curtains around you. Ask about their night dining on the beach, it is the best, but limited to two couples per night.

We cannot praise the staff and their service enough, throughout the hotel they are friendly, extremely courteous and certainly go towards making your holiday. We are a well traveled European couple who stay in hotels through business or pleasure practically weekly and we would definately place this hotel amongst our top choices.

We will most definitely return to this hotel and would recommend it to our friends and family we are that confident in its ability to deliver a superb holiday experience.

We just stayed 4 nights at the Pacifica. The resort itself is beautiful and the service from the staff there was excellent, some of the best we've experienced. The resort is close to Cabo San Lucas ($10 cab ride), and very far from San Jose. We didn't find Cabo San Lucas to be all that noteworthy so we stayed primarily at the resort, which is easy to do since it's very secluded from anything else. The design of the resort is very clean and minimal and very nicely executed. Definitely request a room on the 4th or 5th floor so that you will have the good views. The room itself won't blow you away, but you won't be disappointed with it at all - though it could have been a little bit bigger.

They did a heck of a job training all the staff there because we thought they were exceptional. They were always there when you needed something, were extremely polite, and never intrusive. We would rate the service a definite 5 out of 5, hands down, from the time we got there to when we left.

The food was excellent for a resort property. The restaurant Siempre was a nice surprise, not expensive at all, and the service and decor was first rate. We also thought the food at the pool was fantastic. Again, the food at the resort and drinks were very reasonable, and definitely worth it. We are very picky eaters and thoroughly enjoyed every meal at the resort. Go to Mi Casa one night and get Mexican food if you want, it's worth the cab ride into town.

We got messages two days that we were there and we really enjoyed the spa there. The message rooms are well designed, and the therapists were really quite good. Request one of the treatment rooms with a window that is under the falling water outside - it's a nice bonus. The spa itself was run very well and kept extremely clean. Hit the gym and it was very functional for a quick workout. You really have to get a message if you stay here. Make sure you book your messages a couple of weeks in advance, just in case they fill up.

Like other people have said, this is a very low-key resort. Not having kids at the pool or at meals was one of the reasons why we chose this resort. It is really very quiet and there is not much to do other than eat, hang out at the pool, go the spa, or walk on the beach. There was never anybody in the hotel bars and very few people at the restaurant.

The negatives are very minor but I should mention them. We didn't feel pressured to do the time share tour and we didn't - really not a big deal. When you check in, they give you a welcome package with all these coupons, which we thought was a bit tacky. And the low prices of the resort lends itself to a different clientele that you would experience at a Four Seasons or a Ritz Carlton. Other than that, the resort was run exceptionally well and is an amazing property.

Overall, we really liked and enjoyed the resort and would recommend it highly. The resort itself is beautiful and is great for a spa weekend where you don't want to do much of anything else but eat and relax.

My wife and stayed here for our honeymoon during July. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Slightly on the pricey side for the food, but was expected for resort food. I would recommend using the shuttle service to be picked up and returned to the airport, it’s cheaper than the cab ride. We were approached about timeshares, but didn’t feel pressured by staff after we turned down the presentation. The hotel is gorgeous and extremely relaxing. There are several water features that create a soothing sound. This is definitely a great place for honeymooners, or others seeking alone time. Not a good spring break place. The hotel is secluded by mountain ranges on three sides and the ocean on the fourth. To visit downtown cabo you could take a cab $10 U.S. one way, or the hotel has a shuttle that runs to a sister hotel (walking distance from downtown) every 30 minutes for free. We had a wonderful and would revisit.

Prior to leaving for Cabo, we called Pueblo Bonito Pacifica and were reassured by personnel that “It was sunny and rains usually lasted no longer than 10 minutes.” However, upon arrival, we noticed that a construction crew was cutting plywood to board up the hotel. They misrepresented and endangered us in order to not lose revenue from cancellations. During the first night, we woke up to what could only be described as the stench of sewage that did not go away after two hours of leaving the balcony door open. Later we noticed plumbers in the adjacent room. By the afternoon, tarps, plywood and sandbags completely covered the resort property - totally taking away from any positive experience. Our room had one maid service throughout the entire 5 nights we were in Cabo because staff was busy with resort clean-up. It's understandable, but completely ruins a vacation of beach and sun. There were no flights out of town until a day after our package stated and Pacifica charged us despite it all (and I'm leaving a lot out)! We tried to make the most out of the trip by getting spa treatments (added service charges are not given to the therapists) and eating at their restaurant (which was really good). We are thoroughly disappointed that a hotel offering holistic rejuvenation would not ask their guests to stay home if this was the condition we would find their services and property. They exercised complete disregard for our time and finances and expected total gratitude.

My wife and I booked our vacation at this hotel after changing our minds and not wanting to go to the Bahamas. We read reviews about this hotel and once we arrived all we can say is it is absolutely perfect. The hotel and staff were perfect. The room is large enough, not sure what people were complaining about, the staff was always at pleasant and we never had to wait longer than a few minutes for any request. The room service, and maid service were the best we have had in Mexico and we go to Mexico every six months. The food prices were your standard hotel priced food, but it was great. The drinks were a little pricey, but hey, your on vacation, and this is a five star hotel, and they have every top shelf liquor you could ask for. This was the most relaxing vacation we have ever had, and definantly use the spa and work out facilities. We highly recommend this hotel and will be back again.
