My wife and stayed here for our honeymoon during July. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Slightly on the pricey side for the food, but was expected for resort food. I would recommend using the shuttle service to be picked up and returned to the airport, it’s cheaper than the cab ride. We were approached about timeshares, but didn’t feel pressured by staff after we turned down the presentation. The hotel is gorgeous and extremely relaxing. There are several water features that create a soothing sound. This is definitely a great place for honeymooners, or others seeking alone time. Not a good spring break place. The hotel is secluded by mountain ranges on three sides and the ocean on the fourth. To visit downtown cabo you could take a cab $10 U.S. one way, or the hotel has a shuttle that runs to a sister hotel (walking distance from downtown) every 30 minutes for free. We had a wonderful and would revisit.

Prior to leaving for Cabo, we called Pueblo Bonito Pacifica and were reassured by personnel that “It was sunny and rains usually lasted no longer than 10 minutes.” However, upon arrival, we noticed that a construction crew was cutting plywood to board up the hotel. They misrepresented and endangered us in order to not lose revenue from cancellations. During the first night, we woke up to what could only be described as the stench of sewage that did not go away after two hours of leaving the balcony door open. Later we noticed plumbers in the adjacent room. By the afternoon, tarps, plywood and sandbags completely covered the resort property - totally taking away from any positive experience. Our room had one maid service throughout the entire 5 nights we were in Cabo because staff was busy with resort clean-up. It's understandable, but completely ruins a vacation of beach and sun. There were no flights out of town until a day after our package stated and Pacifica charged us despite it all (and I'm leaving a lot out)! We tried to make the most out of the trip by getting spa treatments (added service charges are not given to the therapists) and eating at their restaurant (which was really good). We are thoroughly disappointed that a hotel offering holistic rejuvenation would not ask their guests to stay home if this was the condition we would find their services and property. They exercised complete disregard for our time and finances and expected total gratitude.

My wife and I booked our vacation at this hotel after changing our minds and not wanting to go to the Bahamas. We read reviews about this hotel and once we arrived all we can say is it is absolutely perfect. The hotel and staff were perfect. The room is large enough, not sure what people were complaining about, the staff was always at pleasant and we never had to wait longer than a few minutes for any request. The room service, and maid service were the best we have had in Mexico and we go to Mexico every six months. The food prices were your standard hotel priced food, but it was great. The drinks were a little pricey, but hey, your on vacation, and this is a five star hotel, and they have every top shelf liquor you could ask for. This was the most relaxing vacation we have ever had, and definantly use the spa and work out facilities. We highly recommend this hotel and will be back again.

My boyfriend and I just spent a week at the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica and we absolutely loved it! The hotel, along with its sister property Sunset Beach, are on the Pacific side, making them the most secluded hotels in Cabo. It's only a 15 min drive into downtown Cabo, so you can party at the bars and then head home to a tranquil retreat. The grounds are breathtaking, as is the view of the Pacific. The restaurant, Siempre, offers delicious breakfast options and the pools are immaculate and rimless. The hotel is extremely clean and well-kept. We had a car and so we drove around to other 5 star properties, but loved our hotel the best, along with the location. We highly recommend Pacifica to any couple planning on visiting Cabo and looking for a new, modern resort.

We were here for a week in mid July and could not have asked for a more wonderful stay. As many others have written: fabulous hotel, very clean (even better than many high end hotels here in US), great service, wonderful decor, beautiful landscaping, great pool, etc. I would describe this hotel to be what would happen if Starwood crossed a "W" Hotel with a true spa retreat and placed it at the tip of the Baja Peninsula.

I used trip advisor to decide which hotel to stay at in Cabo and read nearly all of the reviews on this hotel and just had to add my 2 cents.

I travel frequently for work so I've been fortunate to stay in many hotels/resorts across the US, Mexico, Caribbean, Hawaii and have to say that the Pacifica was truly one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at....and not just for "Mexican" standards either! Sure there are a few things that could be changed but the same could be said of any Four Seasons/Ritz/Westin/Marriott.

I have read many complaints about the high cost of food and drink and I must disagree.

Example - menu lists a margarita for the equivalent of $8.00 USD. While at first pass that may seem expensive you need to consider a couple of things, first of all, that price includes sales tax. So if you subtract tax, that margarita is now about $7.25 - which is about the price you would pay at any regular old "chain" (not expensive) restaurant (like a TGIF, Applebees). But the difference is you are drinking a good-sized, very well made drink, generous with the alcohol AND are sitting on the edge of an infinity pool watching the waves crash on the beach.

Now compare that $8.00 margarita to one you would be drinking on the beach at a resort in Hawaii and suddenly that drink becomes $10.00 USD plus tax! The same comparison could be made for the food served at the pool too. A generously sized Kobe beef burger with tons of great curly fries for $14 USD including tax. Sure there are bargains to be had in downtown Cabo but you are getting one of the "happy hour 3 for 1" specials...and you get what you pay for...cheap liquor, small cups of watery margarita. When at the happy hours - stick with the beer!

As far as water goes, the hotel has a fully filtered system (salt water desalinization plant at Sunset Beach next door). We had absolutely no problem drinking the water for the entire week. We did make sure to take bottled water with us when we went into town.

The spa at Pacific and Sunset beach is very nice, had one of the best massage ever at the Pacifica. Their gym is well furnished and better than most Marriott gyms.

Taking the timeshare tour was worth it. We got discounts off the spa treatment and received $300 credit for food/beverages charged to the room. We also received a 10% discount at all of the restaurants at Sunset Beach (which had more restaurants to choose from).

Overall we only went into town 1 day to shop and 1 time to have dinner, as there was really no reason to leave this quiet relaxing oasis.

PS. the beach at the Pacifica is where they filmed the movie "Troy".

  • Liked — No on under the age of 16yo is allowed....makes for a very quiet and relaxing pool scene
  • Disliked — Far from town but then again that is also a plus
