I spent a great deal of time reading everything I could about the Pacifica resort before my trip to Cabo. I’d never been to Cabo and this was my first vacation in a very long time, so I wanted it to be perfect. After just returning from the Pacifica, I can tell you it was absolutely perfect and beautiful. This is the best hotel of the other Pueblo Bonitos in Cabo, we toured all of them while there. The others, while very nice, seemed crowded with people and kids. Forget the Sunset Beach. It has timeshares in addition to the hotel, so finding a space around the pool seemed impossible. Not at the Pacifica. It was so quite and peaceful, never crowded. You would never have to worry about getting to the pool early in the morning to reserve a chair. The landscaping is stunning and the Pacific Ocean, just steps away from the hotel, was an awesome sight with its waves exploding against the shoreline. We stayed on the fourth floor (hotel has five floors) and left our slider open at night to fall asleep to the sound of the waves. The Pacifica has its own beach, although no swimming allowed in the Pacific, you have the entire beach to yourself for a morning walk or run. Don’t believe the other reviews about the food. It was great! Breakfast at Siempre was fantastic, fresh squeezed juices, delicious pancakes and Mexican specialties. We also loved the food at the pool. Chips with three salsas, the steak burrito is awesome. I did take some other reviewers advice and brought my own Starbucks coffee for the in-room coffee maker (tip: bring your own small flat bottom coffee filters too). The coffee the hotel supplies isn’t all that great and cost $3. You can also get coffee drinks downstairs at the café, which also sells water, sodas, continental breakfast stuff. Water is purified at the hotel, but the tap taste like chlorine. Bottle water in the room is Voss at $6/bottle, save money and go to the downstairs café and buy big bottles of Evian for $4/ea; or buy some in town; so you will want to bring a backpack for your trips into town. I was concerned about the prices from reading the other reviewers, but it wasn’t so bad after getting there. We live in LA and didn’t think it was too out of hand. We pretty much drank and ate whatever and whenever we wanted at the hotel pools and restaurants and it averaged around $150/day for two people. Just budget that as apart of your vacation and you’ll be fine. The spa was good and the treatments were great. Very good masseurs. We also booked private airport transportation through (-)bajaonly(-). It was $195 roundtrip from the SJD airport to Pacifica and WORTH EVERY PENNY! We had a Suburban and our driver was great. He told us about everything, stopping at a store for cervasas outside of the airport. They were there on time on both ends and had a sign with my name on it. The others were waiting for the shuttles, cramming in with all the other travelers. I was so glad to just hop in the car and go, since it is about a 45-min ride to town. If you are hesitant about this hotel, do not be! I cannot wait to return!!

Need I say more...Okay, I'll admit that this hotel is not for those looking to party it up in Cabo. If you're in your 30's (like me & my wife) or 40's, and/or you just want to relax, enjoy a beautiful pool with excellent poolside bar & restaurant, maybe enjoy the spa, walk on a beach while taking in 12-foot waves, be waited on hand and foot, all in the comfort of pristine grounds and comfortable rooms, then this is the place for you. My only complaint is that the drinks are too expensive. We're not big partiers, but definitely like to drink on vacation, so our drink bills added up. But then again, it is a hotel...what hotels don't charge a lot for drinks?! Since this hotel is about 10 minutes from downtown, they know they can charge a bit more for the extras. But outside of the drinks, the food prices were what we expected for a 5-star hotel, and actually a little better. I recommend this hotel to anyone, and Cabo is just a perfect beach getaway.

My boyfriend and I just returned from three nights at this breathtaking resort. We were greeted with a red carpet and walked into the lobby with the most gorgeous view of the Pacific. The staff was attentive and we were immediately shown to an incredible suite on the top floor again with a beautiful view. The suite was really amazing - huge bathroom and bedroom. We had two very private balconies. The pool was gorgeous, clean and the water was warm, though the staff at the pool would tend to hover and stalk you a bit. The beach was quiet and peaceful, but you couldn't go in the water as it was too dangerous. Out treatments at the spa were great and the fitness room, though small had all the latest equipment. Even though the hotel was full, it never seemed crowded and was quiet and romantic. Now the bad part - the food was horrible. After the worst dinner and breakfast at their best restaurant - Siempre, we didn't dine again at the hotel. Not only was the food inedible (they put this horrible mayonaise sauce on EVERYTHING), the service was a nightmare. The brought a different wine every time, they gave us stale bread, they insisted this Ragu style tomato sauce was salsa - I can't say enough how bad the food was. We also tried the food at the pool - just as bad. I will have to say that I really loved this hotel and would stay here again, but won't eat the food until they get a new chef.

First...the BAD. Let's get that out of the way.
When arriving at the airport in Los Cabos, don't stop, talk to, or even look at the guys in the 3rd room of the airport; the guys behind the orange desks. They will try to entice you in every way possible to get you to listen to them. They say stuff like "... that once you leave the room, you can't get back in..." (a lie) and that they are "...the only ones able to provide transportation..." to anywhere you might be going. I'm telling you...move through fast. And I mean fast. Don't stop! These guys are a total ripoff!
There are cabs (and plenty of them) waiting for you outside. There are buses and vans, as well, waiting to take you into town. The sharks behind the orange desks want your money. And, they promise to return every cent if you listen to their timeshare presentation (a false promise as I was informed of later).
In a word...these guys are "BAD" Stay away...you'll be sorry if you don't!

Now, the GOOD.
We just returned from the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica on Friday, May 5th. In a word, this place is beautiful. Very quiet, serene and peaceful. If this is what you seek, this is where you'll find it.
A short 10 minute taxi ride from town (or 45 minutes from the airport), Pacifica offers a perfect get-a-way. I, for one, was looking for a place where I could just relax and do things at my pace (as slow as I want). If I wanted something else; to fish, to shop, to sight-see, I was 10-15 minutes from that. I needed some R&R and Pacifica was just the ticket.
The rooms were kinda small, but, certainly adequate. The maid service was outstanding. The food was....well, on a 1-10, I'd give it a 7. The fancy restaurante (Siempre) wasn't really very good. I had the steak and lobster...lobster was a little mushy and the steak was quite small. Breakfast was a little better, warm syrup is good, but the pancakes were really heavy. Sweet breads were very good.
The poolside food bar (Aire) was much better. There you'll find hamburgers and tacos and nachos and shrimp cocktails. At least for us, it was a lot better then the other restaurants in the hotel.
If we wanted to eat fabulous food, we would have had to leave and go into town. Again, I wanted rest and relaxation. The last thing I wanted to do was get a cab every night and go into town.
The beach was great to look at, but don't go near the water. The shore break was pretty violent. And I mean violent in a good way. It was spactular to see 10-12 foot waves crash along the great expanse of beach. But it's, without a doubt, not a swimming beach. You can hear the waves pounding the shore throught the night. And, every day you can see the cruise ships as they move their way out of the Cabo area.
The area of the Pacifica is very windy. In fact, there's a wind-break on the north side of the property to try to minimize the wind. Ha!! The hallways really make for great wind tunnels. We stayed in the 1100 building. If you get a room in that building, don't spend a lot of time styling your hair before going out...it'a a waste of time. Once you get into the stairwells...forget about it! The wind was constant.
The pools are kept at a perfect tempature and are very refreshing. Poolside service is provided for food and drinks.

The UGLY.
Not much to say about this.

All in all, we thought is was a great place for a week-long visit. It was nice to get away from cell phones, email and work, in general. Like I said, it was perfect for what I was looking for.

I am very particular about where I stay on vacation. Not a lot of vacations so when I go I want to make it amazing. This hotel was perfect. Meticulously clean, the staff was incredible, the food was awesome (sample the homemade bread basket in the morning). Everyone was courteouse and helpful. I wish I would have had a tub in the room but other than that the room and bath were always clean (cleaned twice a day) and very roomy.
I have already recommended it to friends and would go back in a minute. Tips: Rent a car, not a whole lot of shopping but the mall is nice, their isn't a bad restaurant anywhere in town or at the hotel so try them all, Cabo Wabo is a must for nightlife, do not go during spring break unless your 21 or under, try the spa at the resort it's wonderful. Have fun, great place to go!
