“Best Cabo Experience Thus Far”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2014

My husband and I have been to Cabo 3 times now and this is by far the best hotel that we've stayed at. We are young and like to go out and party, but were nervous to book at a hotel on the Sea of Cortez side due to the out of control Spring Breakers. So we decided to try the Pacific side. And boy were we extremely happy we did. The hotel is gorgeous, clean, and the rooms were great. The staff was extremely attentive and professional and made the trip one to remember.

The food is "meh", not bad, but not incredible.

The spa was A+ amazing. I have never had a better deep tissue massage in my life.

The nice part about the all-inclusive is that we could eat and visit at all the other Pueblo Bonito resorts. The Sunset next door to the Pacifica is great too - I would recommend visiting the Sky Pool for a day - the views are unreal from up there.

My only negative was the pain in the butt of getting a shuttle to town and back. Even though it is free (which is great!), we had to take a small shuttle to the Sunset and then get on a big shuttle that you have to reserve a ticket for in advance to take us to the Rose and then walk down the beach to the actual town. There are no direct shuttles to the marina/town area. You have to take a taxi to get to town from the hotel if you did not want to walk from the Rose.

We will definitely be back to visit this resort.

Room Tip: All the rooms have an ocean view. The real upgrade would be the OCEAN FRONT.

After much research, for our first trip to Mexico, we chose the PB Pacifica as our destination to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. It was beyond our expectations. Upon our arrival which had been delayed by a broken down shuttle we were greeted with smiling faces & a quick check in. What impressed us from the minute we arrived was how beautiful & spotless the place was. So many times we have researched online only to arrive at a destination saying to myself the pictures online made it look better. Not in this case, it was even better in person. Having arrived during spring break, we were very happy we chose the adult only Pacifica. Much more low key, yet very fun. From the many people we met to the staff, everyone was so nice! We had also chosen an all inclusive as we thought it would be easier to budget our trip & know what we were spending without having to learn the exchange rate. We had heard many different things both positive & negative. We must say, the food was exceptional from the individual restaurants to the "theme nights". We ate very well :) The St. Patrick's Day festivities were super fun around the pool without being crazy. Adriana, the activities director was a hoot! She's was great at getting the crowd involved & just a sweetheart. There was something for everyone during the entire day that you could participate in. The pool area is very nice. There is actually 2, a "quiet" pool for those who wish to be away from the bar & the music & then the pool around the bar. The staff at the pool was great. The bartender Abraham introduced us to a wonderful new drink called a Dirty Monkey, a wonderfully refreshing banana flavored rum drink. It became very popular! What really impressed us was the fact that although it was all inclusive, absolutely no one over indulged during our week there. We loved ending every day with social time around the fire pits. Since this is something we do at home a lot, it was perfect for us. Two of the evenings had really great live music & the other evenings we just enjoyed the stars & the company. We met some really terrific people from all over the world. For our actual Anniversary we chose to have a private dinner on the beach. It was exceptional from beginning to end. For 2 hours we had 3 people waiting on us for our every need. The lead waiter, Frang, was great. Took pictures for us & met our every request. He was social but not too much as to take away from "our" evening. After dinner, we stayed & watched the stars from the comfort of the beach beds which we found out were quite comfy & available to us until morning if we wanted. It was a very romantic evening. Although this is not part of the all inclusive, it was well worth the extra money. The chef even made us a very special personalized dessert. So cool. If you are looking for a place to relax, this is the place. If you want to be in the heart of craziness & lots of night life, one of their other properties might be the one for you. However, with the all inclusive you have to option to visit the other properties as well. Thank you again to Adriana, Frang, Abraham & the many others around this most spectacular resort. You made our special week one of the best. We will be back.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views.

We had originally booked the PB Los Cabos but were greeted there with a packed lobby of college spring breakers, then told they were overbooked and that we would be sent to the Pacifica. Fortunately I had researched the Pacifica as well and while we preferred the location we booked, I knew the Pacifica was in fact an upgrade. (I wrote a review of our brief PB Los Cabos experience and the overbooking as well) ... we also visited the Rose for dinner one night at Fellini's (which was good) and even at that time it was pretty chaotic and loud.

So ... In reality ... we probably were much better off at Pacifica. #1 we aren't really beach people as the Pacifica beach isn't swimmable ... our girls are college age but even they appreciated the more relaxing adults only environment at Pacifica. Food and rooms were good ... we had the all inclusive (our first time trying that anywhere) and liked the experience. (ala carte food prices seemed high and the food was good but not "amazing" ... seems all inclusive is the way to go)

We all had various spa treatments and were pleased with those as well.

I will say ALL the employees we talked to were fantastic ... and other than our concern with the chain regarding overbooking would probably come back to Pacifica again if the price were right.

(FWIW, we visited PB Sunset beach and while nice the way the resort was spread out requiring golf carts to shuttle you around would prevent us from wanting to go there)

We stayed for 5 nights at the Pacifica and were very pleased. This was our first time at an all inclusive and we were a bit apprehensive. However, the resort met our expectations. When we first arrived, we were greeted with a glass of champagne, hot towel and friendly faces. The room had an amazing view and was very clean. It is one of Pueblo Bonita's smaller properties, so there are only three restaurants. Our favorite one was Siempre. The service was great and the food was good. The sushi restaurant, Pescado, was ok, not our favorite sushi place, but good service. The entire resort was clean and the grounds were beautiful. Workout classes were offered on the beach and we truly enjoyed them. They also have a very nice fitness center, but we chose to take advantage of the workouts outside by the ocean. We highly recommend the couples massage at the spa! The pools are great, but I recommend going out early to save a chair because they go fast. We loved ordering drinks by the pool and eating fresh guacamole. Also, it is worth taking advantage of renting a cabana on the beach for the day at $40. If you book a shuttle service through the hotel for transfer from the airport, be aware the shuttle drops off at numerous hotels on the way so it will take awhile. Pacifica was the last stop on our shuttle. If you are looking for a place to relax and have some peace and quiet, Pacifica is the place for you. We would return.

We are long-time, satisfied timeshare owners at Pueblo Bonito Rose' and Blanco, so looked forward to an unexpected opportunity to spend a week at this sister, all-inclusive hotel resort for a week. We were told that king beds were assigned on a first come, first-served basis, so made a point to get to the resort before noon, despite the fact that rooms aren't ready til mid-afternoon. All rooms are the same size, but the opportunity is presented on check-in to spend more money to get a better view. We didn't return to move into our room until early evening. We only got a decent room after protesting the ground floor room to which we had been switched as the day wore on, which was not the room number given to us in the morning at the early check-in. We went down to the main restaurant, Siempre, after 9 PM for a glass of wine. We were a bit put off as the bartender literally washed two glasses of different sizes right in front of us to pour them - our first interaction with the resort restaurant. My husband thought he could smell the disinfectant used to clean the glasses over the wine and switched to vodka. I moved my red wine out of the white-wine glass I had into his glass. The Chilean merlot was pretty average and a disappointment based on the "high end" perception they try to convey over the other PB resorts. The breakfast buffet is quite extensive. The poolside lunch menu in the cute, foldable sunglass shape is the same as in town at Rose and Blanco. Our first lunch arrived with stone cold French fries and a tepid burger. We ate the burger and the replacement fries were done right. The sushi restaurant food was not at all special or that wonderful, but the Chilean cabernet was better than the merlot, which was a nice learning. The salad options at dinner in the main restaurant are really good, but the food isn't delivered when it first comes out based on the temperature of the items. Like other reviews have mentioned, the food is average if you are a seasoned traveler used to the finer things in life. It is a nice benefit to be able to eat at any of the PB restaurants with the gold Pacifica bracelet. The bed is quite comfortable and they managed my request for a small, soft pillow within 15 minutes. The make-up mirror light was burned out and wasn't fixed after 2 notes to the maid and a call to the front desk, so I gave up. I could use it anyway after all. There is a stone design built into the floor around the bed that is really hard on the feet. Whoever thought of it should be sent to time out. There aren't copious amounts of towels, but they do refresh things in the evening. The best and most consistent thing about the resort is the SERVICE. The staff in the bars and restaurants and poolside are lovely through and through. They really try to accommodate and are well-trained. No doubt the motive could be to get you to part with additional tip money beyond what is expected and included in the all-inclusive price, but it works. We shelled out extra tip money all the time. After spending a week in town with the raucous noise of the spring breakers, the adults-only policy here was refreshing. The pools are warm and the chairs are inviting. The beach cabanas cost $40/day to rent from 9-5. I didn't use the spa, so couldn't rate it, but the exercise room is pretty small with the expected basics in it. The resort is gorgeous and clean, as was the room - something that should be expected in a classy resort and Pacifica delivers in spades.

Room Tip: Every room has a little deck with two chairs on it, so your preference about morning or afternoon su...

We stayed for 7 days (Sat-Sat) the second week of March 2014 and this was our 3rd all inclusive experience but first time in Mexico. If TA allowed half stars this would be a 4.5 star review. I can't give 5 because that's for perfection but PBP provided a wonderful experience. So, the low-down. Adults only (>18), lots of beach, no ocean swimming, great pools, great service, clean well-kept grounds, our room was great (4th floor, deluxe w/ocean view), and friendly staff. It's quiet, beautiful, easy-going, and the weather rocks.

FOOD: The food is so-so. We had dinner at both major 'restaurants' (Siempre and Pescado) and neither was great. It's waiting and pretension and dress-code for the standard resort fare. <shrug> Plus, the sushi at Pescado was nothing special. I've had better in New Hampshire. The nightly buffets though - oh ho ho - those are fun. Lots of choices, hang out and eat outside, fast drink service.. Yes indeed. If you really know food, don't expect gourmet. The cheeseburgers by the pool are very good. If you don't know food you'll probably think the restaurants are great. In which case, good on ya! Not being snotty.. Just sayin. :) Room service is "good" but SLOW. 2 club sandwiches and a couple drinks took 90 minutes. We never had an order arrive in less than 30 minutes. It was clearly not a cooking issue because you could tell the items had been waiting for some time.

DRINKS: Drinks flow freely wherever you are. Booze options are good. Bar tenders really only know the basics. Ask for a cosmo and you'll have to know how to make it. Our one major qualm was the lack of bottle-service for the room. In both our previous all inclusives you got a bottle or two in your room and could ask for more. I mean, why not? At PBP they don't "do" bottles (except wine bottles, which you have to buy) in the room. You can order room service and ask for like 4 drinks at a time but as mentioned before, room service is very slow to arrive. So your best bet is to just go to one of the bars. Next time I might even pack a drink tray with me then hit the bar and order like 15 shots. <shrug>

Overall we had a truly lovely time. Lounging, swimming, reading, relaxing, eating and drinking. Sit by the fire pits at night. Lounge by the pool by day. Listen to the ocean 24/7. Except when its time for "mexican bingo" by the pool. Then someone shouts over a PA for 20 minutes. I dunno. Good luck to you!

My wife and I went for a relaxing weekend in February and we have nothing but good things to say. Upon arrival we were taken to our room which seemed a bit small for our liking. We asked to upgrade and for $150 a night they upgraded us to the largest suite in the hotel. A good deal if you ask me. Our Butler Paula was one of the sweetest most attentive people I have ever met. She took care of everything that we needed, including getting medication for my wife when she got sick. I would recommend this place for anyone who just wants to relax and get away from life. Will definitely go back again soon.
