“AMAZING!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

This was my third time in Cabo. The first two times I stayed at the Hotel Riu. And NOTHING compares to the Pacifica. As I entered the Pacifica, I was stunned on the amount of detailing that was put into building this hotel. Pure luxury. As you enter the property with your taxi, you have to give them your name to see if you are on the list. Very high security. This is far from the airport, maybe about an hour ride. The Food was ok, but the drinks were great. Friendly staff, they don't linger around for tips, The cabanas were so comfy on the beach. You can rent one for $30, which will be billed to your room. You can not swim at this beach. The waves are way to high and dangerous. The rooms were very modern, ceiling fan, flat screen tv, very nice design. Make sure you get an ocean view room. I visited Sunset as well. The sunset pool is amazing, especially the sky pool. I believe there are about 5 different pools at that location, while Pacifica has only 2. Sunset was more of a younger crowd, people were partying in the pool, loud music, having fun. However, Pacifica is the total opposite, very laid back, quiet and the ambiance is just amazing. The suites are huge, with two balconies. I can not wait to come back here again! This will be the ONLY hotel I stay at in Cabo from now on.

Room Tip: Ocean View is the Way to Go

The place was very nice and the people there were really respectful and nice. If you needed anything you would get it. Great service. The only thing they shouldnt do is try to sell you a timeshare right off the bat but it was good.

I cannot say enough great things about this property. The staff was amazing. They really go out of their way to please you. Every single one of them is so personable. Even simple things...I asked for a spoon and they polish it before handing it to you. The food was 5* all the way...especially the restaurants at each resort. The beef filet @ Siempre was so tender it would melt in your mouth. The sushi restaurant was very tasty too. They keep the property in immaculate condition. You can't even find a rock out of place. The couples massage was top notch and the mani & pedi's were awesome as well. They do not linger around for a tip, nor is it required but the service is so beyond anything else you would experience you WANT to tip them. I'm telling you they go above and beyond. We also took the time share presentation over @ Sunset Beach. They were very nice as well and the discounts for the spa and activities were well worth it. We got $400 in free spa and we also purchased 2 ATV rides, 2 submarine rides & 2 parasailing rides for a total of $160. Don't book your activities online before your trip thinking you'll save money. The resort will save you much more. Wifi is best on the balconies or restaurants & pool. I couldn't get a signal inside the room. That didn't matter though. Who wants to hang out in the room when you are at such a beautiful resort? With it being all adults, it was definitely the most relaxing vacation I've ever had. I had some reservations about going to "Mexico" but they proved me wrong plus more. I will be back for sure. I loved Cabo more than Maui and Maui was absolutely beautiful. The flight was much shorter than Hawaii and everything was cheaper. The jewelry in Mexico is very unique as well. I didn't expect that either. If you are trying to decide between the 4 "Pueblo" resorts and are researching like I did...go with this one. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: We stayed in 1344. It was on the 4th floor dead center. Great views!

My husband and I are avid travelers in our late 20s who look for quality and Pacifica went above and beyond in every area to make our 8 day vacation one of the best we've had. We stayed in an oceanview suite which was large, clean and luxurious in every way and well worth the high price tag. We spent every evening laying on our large balcony listening to the waves. The butler Jaime was phenomenal and ensured that everything was taken care of for us, we could not have met a better guy! The food was terrific, yes sometimes service was slower than we are used to in the states, but come on you're in Mexico relaxing and it never hurt our time. The staff was all around wonderful - especially Blanca, Julian, Nancy and Joseph. Their level of service and kindness exceeded any high end restaurants we frequent in the US and by the end we felt like family. We also visited each Pueblo Bonita resort, eating at almost every restaurant and we were never disappointed. We were also never charged extra for our food and they were sure to specify it something was not included in the All Inclusive package. After visiting all of the resorts, including Rose where we could swim in the ocean (but were constantly hassled by street vendors), we were very happy to be back at our quiet, beautiful, adults only resort. PBP has only 154 rooms and you could feel the difference compared to the others which had 500-1000! Even though the resort was at 100% capacity the entire time we were there, it never felt busy.

I do hours upon hours of research before going anywhere, so I was weary about some of the reviews I read; however, after just a few days we were both surprised how ridiculous some people can be about their complaints. Yes, there are a few tiles missing in the pool, it can be windy and it is a quiet resort. None of these things hindered our trip or made the value any less and we would never consider going anywhere else again. I will say that if you are looking for a lot of action - go to one of their other resorts. No matter how hard the activities guys try, people just don't participate! I would also encourage anyone who is looking for something to complain about to go somewhere else, these people work too hard to deal with guests who will never be satisfied.

Some tips: tip! We brought some extra cash and thanked those who were especially helpful and it did go a long way although it was never expected. Get a beach bed - it was such a fabulous way to spend the day. Make reservations for the buses to and from the other resorts as well as the restaurants - this will make for a stress free time. Be kind - I watched too many guests be rude just because they could or felt entitled.

This is a great place if you just want to get away and relax by the pool with a drink in your hand. It is on the Pacific Ocean side of Cabo so you can't get in the Ocean water, but the 2 pools make up for that. From the moment we stepped out of our shuttle from the airport, the staff was friendly. The only down side, was the food selection, as we purchased the all inclusive plan and by the end of the week, I was kind of bored with the same selections for each meal. I also would have like to have known about the dress code for dinner ahead of time. I didn't notice this anywhere on the website before hand and was on there at least 10 times looking at things. I don't think many other people knew about it either as a lot of people would show up in shorts.
The SPA was absolutely amazing. We went 3 different times for different services and was always impressed! I would recommend this to anyone staying at this hotel!

Julian and Abel provided exceptional service. Adults only was a plus. The evening meal at Siempre was excellent.

The location was always windy and this resort is the furthest point from everything. A taxi ride to the shopping district was 10 to 15 minutes away.

A little disappointing. In some areas we had to beg to receive drinks or waited on. Only one bar was available - a private party took the other one. The bar was very small and if a large group came in you were overlooked. We specifically booked one of our rooms with double beds. Our request was not honored. The front desk was not helpful in reassigning a new room to us.

We were misled about the shuttle service to the other properties. Easy to get to Sunset, but not to the Rose and back. It is best to take a taxi and pay the additional expense.

Very windy and lots of birds. We realize this is something that cannot be controlled. However, with limited places to eat, it is difficult to enjoy your meal outside due to holding your drink and plate so that it does not blow away.

The cabanas by the beach were mostly empty, but when asked to book them we were told we had to do this 2 to 3 days in advance.

Room Tip: The rooms on the higher floors give a much better view of the ocean.

My girlfriend and I spent a week at this resort and had a great time. Upon check-in, we were greeted with the usual drink, warm towel and a "welcome home" greeting - something that we enjoy - and our luggage was taken care of immediately. At the front desk, the first thing we were asked is if we wanted to upgrade our room for an additional $20/day. We declined since we don't stay in the room much except for sleeping. Then we were told that we would be charged $1/day for a charity and at check-out, we could decline it. Kind of a confusing since that's the last thing we wanted to talk about, but it didn't ruin the experience or anything. After check-in, we were directed over to guest services and were asked if we were over the age of 30 - this was for the timeshare dabble - and thankfully we aren't. Instead, we got our wristbands and were on our way.

The room we stayed in was just a basic room, but it was still very nice and had everything we need. We had a balcony to look out into the main area, king sized bed, fridge with beverages, etc. No complaints about our room for the week.

The resort is very secluded and on it's own on its own private (huge) land. It's a good 5-8 minute drive from the bottom of Pacifica to get out of the resort passed the Sunset and Rose. The downside to this is that you cannot just leave to walk into town and instead you have to take a taxi. Again - no issues since we stayed on the resort most of the time unless we were doing excursions, in which case - we were picked up and dropped off anyway.

The restaurants at the Pacifica - Siempre, Pool Grill, and Japanese - were all pretty good. Our only choice in the morning was Siempre for breakfast buffet (there was a breakfast menu, but we opted for buffet every day). For lunch, we also stayed at Siempre or had the poolside grill since we didn't want to make the half hour trip to Sunset for lunch and then back again. The Sushi restaurant opened at 3:30 and stayed open late if you were ever craving it later at night. We did make the trip up to Sunset to eat at La Nao (it's recommended you make reservations at concierge a day before just to make sure - it gets busy) and the food was pretty good. My favourite was Argentinian theme night - all you can eat new york steak, rib eye, pork chops, and chicken and it's grilled outside on the patio for you.

The pool area was decent - there are two pools - one round, smaller pool, and the other bigger pool which was linked up to the swim up bar and curved around the Siempre. When we were there - it seemed to be split up with the smaller pool for the more mature, and relaxing couples and the bigger pool for the younger and party-type couples. There was relaxing music playing on one side and more upbeat music playing on the other. We stayed in the smaller pool for the majority of our stay and it was OK. When we moved over to the bigger pool, we found it a lot more enjoyable - there are easily accessible games on that side like darts, ladder golf, ping pong.
The one thing that was kind of irritating was how a lot of people came early to reserve chairs under umbrellas and never showed up for hours. It's extremely unfair and there should be some sort of restriction against it. We felt forced to get up early and find a spot to place a shirt down so that we could go eat breakfast and come back again if we wanted to sit under an umbrella. Too many couples took advantage of it - we saw shirts on chairs as early as 9 AM and people didn't come until 12 or 1 PM.
The other thing we read on reviews was the missing tiles - personally we didn't find that it affected our stay at all. A few missing tiles here and there is the last thing we care about. If these tiles were to be replaced, they would have to close the pool down and I'm sure people would be more upset about a closed pool than missing tiles.

We used the gym almost every day. The gym - out of all the resorts and hotels we've stayed at was very good. Lots of equipment and weights, plenty of different machines and not just a treadmill and stationary bike.

Overall - we had a great stay, and like always - we never wanted to leave. We would probably rate this resort as a 4.5 star - still very good, no doubt. The staff was extremely friendly - which is the most important to us - and the resort was very nice and clean all the time.

Lastly - some of the memorable names at the resort that helped make the stay enjoyable!
Julian - very friendly, young waiter at Siempre. Always willing to make things right.
Eder - Waiter for the pool. Super friendly dude, makes his rounds often and comes back and checks to make sure everything is good.
Oscar - Waiter at La Nao. Also very friendly and accommodating - very good memory of our names and drinks!
Other names - Greggigio (sp?), Liliah, and Erica.
