“Best place for fun and relaxation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

My friend and i spent 5 days at this resort. My first time in mexico and her second time...it will certainly not my last. I have never tried an all inclusive before and was skeptical about how this place would be. Read a lot of reviews about this resort, although mostly good i still thought best to lower my expectations.

From the moment we arrived the place was just gorgeous and staff extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are great and clean. We're drinkers so it is certainly not a wine and beer only inclusive package. The alcohol is premium, we started with bloody mary every morning, rum runners during day, martinis and wine at night and a few in between which im sure staff remember more than i do. Breakfast i think is typical of whats most resorts provide around the world but it is all fresh. The food at their two restaurants are excellent, all fresh ingredients including the pool bar food.

the best part of this trip are the people we met and the staff. Staff led by abraham are such great, professional fun staff. We definitely will go back. Whatever negative reviews you read is nothing compared to the positives of this place. Like many frequent travelers who wrote great reviews about this place, this is one of best i have been. Im definitely going back to experience mexico because of the staff at this resort.

the guests are older crowd but definitely fun laid back people. If youve never tried all inclusive before try this place.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

My wife and I went to Pacifica in January 2013 for 2 weeks. We are little late in our review. To start off though, I need to say, I would definately not call this a 5 star. I would say maybe a 3.5-4 star.
I'm not going to ramble on about the resort. It's going to be short and sweet(hopefully). Pros and cons.
PROS:
It's a very quiet place to stay-to sleep and around the pool. No kids! No partiers!
There are healthier food options- smoothies, egg whites, etc. At the Siempre they ask you if you have food alergies or special requests
Best fries I have ever had at an all incusive resort(at the pool snack bar) (don't even need ketchup)
Some of the great pool/beach servers were Moises,Paola, and the best one was Jazmin
Even though it is an adults only resort, it is not a place of nudity and weird stuff going on, and stupid sex games. It just means no kids (under 18)
This place has the nicest loungers of all the 4 sister hotels in Cabo (comfy and padded)
Go to Bocados for breakfast or lunch- friendly and good food
Go to the sushi bar as well- friendly and good food
We could see alot of whales, even near shore
You have to go to the sky pool at the Sunset
CONS:
Long bus ride there, 3/4-1 Hr
Service- pool/beach service was quite bad. Had to get their attention all the time. They just look or seem very unhappy.
There was a manager change while we were there. I had talked to him about the service. (By the way, we found a fruit basket and a bottle of bubbly when we got back to our room).(COOL). The service seemed to be abit better after that. The service in the restaurant was pretty good.
Pool bar- The option I loved was the choice of top shelf brands of drinks, but in our experience they would "say" they ran out, so we would got to the swim up bar(same bar) they would have more there, strange huh?(I hate liars) Who's paying for this anyway?
For us if you order off the menu for breakfast it will take a very long time and it might also be wrong when you get it.(more than one occasion).
Food- We found the the buffet food was mostly cold even the so-called freshly brought food(that doesn't make sense)
They get alot of people from the time share condos nearby- Montecristo
Well, this our say in a nutshell. Maybe a little longer than I thought. I would still recommend this place, and we would probably go back now that we know what to expect. we got a really good deal(half price), but don't expect it to be a 5 star like it says. I don't want to say everything there is to see and do, you have to do something. Right?

Just as great as the first time - if not better! Food has been wonderful - Siempre for breakfast and dinner. Sunday champagne brunch was awesome. Aqua Bar for lunch - excellent tacos. My husband had them every day. Pool activites were so fun - Adriana, Josh and Estebn made sure we had a great time every day. Looking forward to coming back soon!

My husband and I spent two weeks at the Pacifica in mid April. I should preface this by saying we have been to Cancun, the Mayan, Nuevo Vallarta, & Hautulco several times. We always stay in all inclusive resorts and so we have quite a bit of experience with resorts in Mexico.

This hotel is quite nice as far as service and the food & wine is very good. They have a nice wine list which you don't usually find in Mexico. This is a very small resort, the grounds are well kept and clean. There are 3 pools, 2 are normal and one is a warm pool with jets in a glassed in area.

The rooms are nothing spectacular, quite basic, but we had a balcony which faced the ocean on the 3rd floor as promised, however I think any room above the ground floor would have a view. When we initially arrived they took us to a room that had 2 twin beds and I said no - we had requested a king size bed. I think a resort that is adult only should probably have at least an 80:20 ratio of rooms that have king or queen size beds as opposed to any other formation. The room that they could give us was right next door, but was not cleaned yet, so we waited a couple of hours, had some lunch and a couple of glasses of wine and then were able to get into the appropriate room. The maids are good and we did tip everyday, however in most resorts the maids would do neat things with the towels, shape them into things and usually decorate with flowers each time they cleaned. Only once did we come back to find our towels in a neat shape, kind of disappointing, but obviously not a big deal. I mention it because this resort is rated as a 4+ and so it is the little things that make a difference.

There are only 2 a la cartes at this resort, one of which is a sushi restaurant which is not to everyone's taste. The main restaurant that is used for breakfast and lunch is the other a la carte. This restaurant is wonderful and the service is fantastic. Very cool that you can order off a menu for both breakfast and lunch if you want, rather that use the buffet. The supper buffet if you do not book an a la carte is outside by one of the pools. This would be okay if the weather is nice, however in the 2 week period that we were there the wind howled. It was very, very cold at night and nothing would stay on the tables and the food was cold. The resort should find a way to make alternative arrangements when the weather is bad for the outdoor buffet. There are 3 other resorts that you can go to and book the a la cartes, but you have to take a 5 minute shuttle to Sunset where there are 3 more a la cartes - not a big deal, but kind of a pain. If you want to use the other 2 resorts than you have to take a free bus into Cabo from Sunset. We did go up to Sunset and make use of all 3 of the a la cartes just for some variance, the food was very good at these restaurants as well. We are people who like to eat at the a la cartes and, dressing up a little to do so, is no big deal, but some nights it is just nice to be able to pop down to the buffet, but as mentioned previously this was not really an option. So we did run into people who were not very happy because they had not brought any kind of clothing to wear to the a la cartes, because they assumed they would be eating at the buffet all the time. The other 2 sister resorts are in Cabo, which if you take the free shuttle provided by the resort takes about 30 minutes to get to. There is 24 hour room service which is included, but the wait if you order from that is anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours so not the best alternative and the menu is quite limited.

You can not go in the water at this resort because the waves are huge and it drops off to 350 feet. There are 6 canopy beds on the beach for use by the people who rent the suites or you can rent them by the day. However, this did not appear to be a very good deal when we were there as the beds could not be used because it was so windy. The resort does have about 20 chaise lounges on the beach as well underneath a couple of trellis', but other than that you are going to have to sit around a pool. This is okay, however we like to be able to be on a beach when we go somewhere hot so that was a little disappointing for us.

There was not too much trouble getting a chair by the pools as long as you got there fairly early in the day. The chairs are very comfortable and you don't have to hand over a towel card or anything to get a towel, they are just in some wooded bins that you help yourself to, which was great. There are umbrellas for about half the chairs at the pool, unfortunately for about half the time we were there it was too windy to use them so if you wanted to get out of the sun you had to cover up with a towel. There are waitstaff around the pools who will bring you anything you want to drink and will even bring you lunch right to your chair if you want. You could catch the shuttle up to the Sunset resort where they had more pools, but we did not do that.

We did use the spa one day and also used the fitness center. Both of these were fantastic, the gym is very well equipped.

We like to be able to go for walks around the resort to get some exercise, but you pretty much had to leave the resort to do this, because there were only so many paths at a resort of this size and not much to see.

I would recommend this resort to people who just want to relax and get some sun who are not into partying or popping into town every day. The resort is small and there was not a lot to do there and, even by cab, it took about 20 minutes to get into Cabo. We were there for 2 weeks which is always how long we like to stay at a resort, but this time 2 weeks was too much for us at this particular resort.

This is our first trip to Cabo San Lucas. We chose the Pacifica because we got a great deal from Expedia and it includes all inclusive on its sister resort, Rose, Los Cabo and Sunset Beach. The transportation from the airport was a breeze, we booked TransCabo and upon arrival, we rushed directly thru the timeshare reps and right to the people with orange polo shirt. Since Pacifica is the furthest hotel in Cabo, we were the last stop from our shared van. The total time of transportation was 45 minutes.

Check in at the hotel was easy and they explained the all inclusive package in good details. After we checked in, we made all our dinner and shuttle reservation. As long as you planned ahead, you will never have any troubles with picking your choice of restaurant or going to the Rose or Los Cabo, which is 15 minutes walk to the Marina. People that left negative reviews probably did not planned in advance and got stick with buffets nightly.

Heres the breakdown from my trip....
- Tip , Tip, Tip! The staff provided great service and we definitely deserve it, plus shorter wait time from pool drinks and snacks.
- Rooms are small and we got a partial view of the ocean. We didnt spend alot of time in our room so no complains.
- We never had a problem with getting a chair by the pool so no complains there.
- Shuttle from Pacifica to Sunset was available at any part of the day. Longest wait was 5 minutes
- Book shuttle from Sunset to Rose ahead of time, then make reservation from Rose to Sunset once you arrived. 15 minutes walk to downtown from the Rose and a short walk to Eden's Spa, which we had great 90 minutes massage for 40 dollars
- La Frida at Sunset Beach is amazing. For 20 dollars extra a person, i had the best steak ever!
- Sunday Brunch at Pacifica had an awesome selection, but the selection during the other days was limited. I would stick to Ala cart instead.
- Sushi restaurant at Pacifica was decent, not outstanding. You can order sushi at other restaurants too, like The Bistro at Sunset Beach
- Cilatros at Los Cabo and Felleni at Rose also had great food, so remember to get a reservation ahead of time

Overall, awesome experience and will go back in the future...hopefully annually!

We are on our last day here and from the second we stepped out of shuttle Marco the bellman went out his way to make sure we were well taken care of. Our trip was made exceptionally better because of Marco and his willingness to go above and beyond.

All the staff were lovely and there to help you. The food and drinks were amazing and the private beach bed is a must for at least one day . The one on one service from your own bartender and the remote beach made this day unforgettable. We can not wait to come back. As two younger girls the nights were quiet but the we can to enjoy that and the fun was a short shuttle ride away!

If you want luxury and relaxation this is the place to go!

My husband and I went to Cabo for our 10th anniversary. We chose the Pacifica because we wanted an adults-only experience. We have two small children who stayed home with their grandparents. Since we didn't have our children with us we really don't want to hear any other children crying, whining, etc. We wanted a peaceful and relaxing vacation and that is exactly what we got. The hotel was very quiet and tranquil and at times we felt as if we were the only ones there. We definitely enjoyed that though. In the afternoons there was a band or DJ down at the pool, along with other activity if you wanted. We loved the hotel and thought everyone went out of their way to help us. We were blown away by how beautiful the hotel was and thought the room was equally wonderful. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The hotel smells absolutely amazing. The bed was extremely comfortable. The balcony was very roomy with big fluffy chairs and we had an amazing view of the ocean, the pool, and the grounds. The chairs on the balcony were so comfortable I actually fell asleep out there several times. Every room appeared to be oceanfront and equally as nice. I can't imagine there is a bad room in the whole place. This was our first all-inclusive trip and we thought we may run into issues or have a few problems but we DID NOT! Everything was included. I am a big time foodie/chef and will tell you that we loved going down to the breakfast buffet at the Siempre. They had the very best fruit, we loved the power smoothies, and my husband loved the omelet station. Dinner at Siempre was very impressive and equally delicious. A reservation is needed to dine at Siempre for dinner but thankfully I had researched this when we booked and we made reservations ahead of time. I would suggest that anyone booking at Pacifica make reservations at Siempre every night. You can always change your mind and cancel if you decide to dine elsewhere. We also made a reservation for a beach bed ahead of time and really enjoyed having drinks out on the beach. That night we had dinner on the beach (not part of the all-inclusive) and it was so amazing! The servers really made us feel special and the meal was wonderful. A very memorable experience for sure. We also visited the spa and had a couples massage that was absolutely wonderful. Overall we had a wonderful experience and cannot wait to go back. I nearly cried when we had to leave. We will definitely stay at the Pacifica again.

I'd also like to add a note about some of the negative reviews listed here. I really can't imagine anyone having anything negative to say about this hotel. The rooms are definitely not small, I'm pretty sure there are no rooms with bad views, we did have a wet bar in our room that was complimentary, the room service only took 10-15 minutes, and our beach bed was made up perfectly every time we used it. The Pacifica was truly a dream vacation for us and I can't help but feel that some of the reviewers are a little too spoiled for their own good. If you're too good to enjoy a relaxing vacation in paradise then you have some major issues you need to explore.

I also want to share that they will ask you to go to a timeshare presentation upon check in. It is not mandatory at all and I would definitely say no next time, but my husband really wanted to go so we went. They will tell you it lasts 90 minutes and it's really more like two and a half hours, but I had expected that anyway. You will not be stuck in a dark room looking at an overhead or screen the entire time. You actually get to check out some beautiful multi-million dollar properties. I'm talking majorly beautiful cliff side homes overlooking the ocean with infinity pools and more. If you have the time it is worth it. I will say that we had to get pretty aggressive when it was time to leave. Be prepared to say no several times. We did get a wonderful spa package and some tequila out of the deal so it was totally worth it this time around. Something to think about if you enjoy looking at gorgeous homes and want a few freebies.

P.S. We vacationed April 12th through April 19th. The weather was a little chilly in the morning and at night (this is mostly due to the high winds). If you're anywhere on the hotel property the staff will provide ponchos and/or Mexican blankets to keep you warm. However, I would highly recommend bringing long sleeves, pants, sweatshirts, etc. The wind has a way of making it feel at least 15-20 degrees cooler than it really is.

I really have nothing but praise for the Pacifica and the staff!! Thanks for such a wonderful time! It was a dream vacation for us and I think most people would feel the same way. Can't wait for another visit.

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor right in the middle of the resort and had a wonderful view of everythin...
