“Perfect Relaxing Vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

My husband and I stayed at this resort for a week in March 2011. We were looking for a relaxing and nice resort. It was perfect- our room was very nice with a balcony overlooking the pool area and ocean, the staff were very nice and helpful, and the food and drinks were great. The hotel is very pleasant, quiet, luxurious, and relaxing with Lavender scents everywhere.

Pueblo Bonito Sunset Resort and Spa is an elegant hotel on the Pacific Ocean in Cabo. It was originally envisioned as a high-end holistic spa and retreat, with no one under 16 allowed on the site. Accordingly, it has stark architectural features with water falls, zen like sand gardens with cactus, and a fine spa and fitness center. It was not successful as a holistic spa and has been converted into an all inclusive. It still appears to exclude children.

Service is first rate and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Upon returning after a year we were greeted as old friends by many staff members. There are two large pools and a huge beach that is unfortunately not swim-able. When at maximal capacity, pool loungers are at a premium. The food has evolved from typical fare for a spa, to a more user friendly format. The restaurants are very good and the serve excellent meals on the all inclusive plan. As with all all-inclusives today's crowd is less interested in the spa and more in the sun and drinks. The rooms are well appointed but on the smallish side. There is free internet, although at peak usage service can be slow. Pacifica Resort & Spa is a wonderful place to relax for few days or a week. It is the perfect place for a romantic getaway, a girl friends adventure, and couples, of any age, who want a place to relax and refresh.

Room Tip: Rooms on upper floors have better views.

Absolutly beautiful and relaxing. The service is wonderful. Put it on your list and get here soon. You wont regret it. The amenities are good but the service is outstanding. Adriana took care of us by the pool. She made the experience great.

Room Tip: All of the rooms have an excellent view.. There are no bad rooms. We stayed in oceanfront which was...

My husband and I returned yesterday after the best 2 week holiday we've ever been on. From the moment we stepped off the shuttle from the airport we can honestly say we were treated with dignity and respect. Check-in was very fast and since our room wasn't quite ready we went to the Siempre Restaurant for lunch. Fantastic food, friendly service and a very pleasant atmosphere. We made a special bond with Gregorio, Erika and Nancy. Thanks ever so much for all you've done.

Our bell boy, Karim, explained all there was to know when he escorted us to our beautiful room on the 4th floor. What a view we had. We made it a daily routine to sit out to have our coffee on the balcony with a treat of watching the whales and other sea-life. This was a first for us. Didn't have to pay big doneros to go to Sea World.

The grounds were immaculate. They work very hard to keep up with the raking, etc. Those reviews that complained about tiles missing in the pool should be very pleased they've started working on them. No one during our stay had no reason to complain of something so petty.

We went and checked out 2 of the sister hotels and couldn't wait to get back to the Pacifica where we called home for 2 weeks. We had everything we could ever want or need here. The Siempre never served a bad meal (always scrumptuous) and room service which we ordered once was very quick.

We spent alot of time at the pool and were very well-served. Thank you Daniel and Paola for being so attentive. Miss you guys. About the Activity Staff--Adriana, Fernanda and Josh--they were so much fun and always had something nice to say. Very friendly. Thanks ever so much for showing us a good time. Miss you all and hope to see you again real soon.

Thanks go out to Ofelia in the lobby bar. What a superb bartender. You'd be hired here in Canada in a minute with your expertise.

Overall, our total experience here at Pacifica was overwhelming. Such a relaxing place to visit. We definitely want to go back.

Room Tip: Higher floors have a much better view of the ocean

This would my first time offering a review of any resort and we have travelled and experienced many in Mexico. I felt this resort and experience warrented a sharing of this wonderful resort and its fantatic staff. From the time we checked in (greeted with warm smiles, towels to freshen up and a cold drink) to the time we checked out our entire experience has been a wonderdous, relaxing time. The facility is small and cozy, the rooms are very clean and the maintenance staff is forever grooming to make the entire space feel taken care of. The staff of the reort sets this resort aside from others. They are willing and able to help their guest in whatever way they can and always with a kind smile and geniune want to make this a special time. From the ladies and gentleman in the retaurant that took care of for breakfast every morning - Nancy, Leopoldo, Blanca, Petro, Julian - to the marvelous hard working pool staff to the evening dinner staff we always felt were always taken care of. Special thanks and gratitude to our high energy activity coodinators Adrinna and Jorge who made our day times filled with water aerobics and other events when and if we wanted. The spa and gym were also fantastic places to spend time. This is our second time here and we usually never go back to the same resort twice. We would definitely travel here again and recommend this to many to enjoy the same wonderful experience we had. Come here, you won't be disappointed!

As seasoned travellers we have yet to return to a specific resort or hotel, the Pueblo Bonito however will see us again and again. From the moment we stepped off the aeroport transport the staff made every effort to ensure that our stay was the best it could possibly be. All of the service staff are at least proficient in english with many being fluent. The real treat is the dining experience. All meals are "a la carte" with a buffet available for breakfasts and brunch on Sunday. The linen covered marble tables at which you sit are served by a very courteous and menu-knowledgeable staff. The shrimp and sea bass, caught daily are delicious. Both the luncheon and dinner menus were so diverse that we rarely ate the same meal twice. The wine list has all of the usual quality offerings however you should really experience the chardonnay and the sirah from a local Baja winery in the Valle de la Guadalupe, truly surprising! The outdoor restaurant staff are as proficient as the dining room personnel and indeed will come by your pool-side chaise every twenty minutes or so asking if you need anything from the bar or the restaurant. Senor Victor Salina Burgoa, the restaurant Manager ensures that your dining experience in any of the resort's dining facilities is the best it can be. All of the amenities, from our morning espresso, the well-equipped gym, the wonderfully relaxing spa, the world-class dining experiences, the warm water pools, the whale-watching from the beach, to the Reyes brothers fine jewelery kiosk with a surprisingly good inventory ( managed by Valencia ), provided us with no reason whatsoever to leave the resort, so there we stayed!
Upon arrival we were provided with the usual tourist pamphlets and brochures and were asked if we would be interested in attending a presentation at a sister resort for available time-share units. The reward was a large coupon for the in-house spa. We declined and were never approached again. Several of the guests did accept thinking that it would be an easy way to score a day at the spa. All of them were very bitter at the high pressure sales techniques used by the sales people, well what did they really expect! There is no "free lunch"! So if you do decide to go for a day at the spa, pay for it yourself and enjoy, if not then at least keep your resentment to yourself.

Room Tip: With fewer than 160 rooms, there are no "bad" rooms

We were greeted with smiling faces ,everyone very helpful and happy. The guys working the swim up bar kept us entertained with their singing and upbeat mood. The room was clean, a bit small but nice outside seating area. Both pools clean, and great pool side service. The food was good, with good service. You have to try the Margaritas in the bar off the main restaurant , best we have had in Cabo.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the top floor, as sound transmits from rooms above.
