My husband and I stayed at the Pacifica March 2007. (I know this review is rather late, but I just joined TripAdvisor) We absolutely loved the Pacifica!! We knew going to Cancun in March was risky business due to Spring Break being in full swing, but we found the peace and quiet we were looking for at the Pacifica. Courtesy transportation to/from the Pueblo Bonito properties is very convenient and creates a great way to get to downtown Cabo for free! Catching a cab is just as easy and I recall it being quite affordable. ($10 each way - not bad in my opinion)
Our room was gorgeous! We like contemporary furnishings and this room was to our liking. There are comfortable chairs on the patio and the view was great!
We enjoyed the food and drinks. As many people have stated, the fish tacos (with a side of black beans) are incredible! Dinner and breakfast at the resort were really good as well. I'm a very picky eater and I was satisfied with every meal. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our anniversary beach dinner because of high winds, but we enjoyed a romantic dinner next door at the Sunset (La Frida restaurant) instead and had a wonderful time and a delicious dinner!
Speaking of the Sunset, get their dinner schedule when you arrive. They host nightly themed buffets and we didn't know this until 2 days before we left. Apparently a couple of the themed nights are known to be very good, so it's good to know this in advance since the Pacifica only has a couple of places to eat. Having the Sunset next door creates additional dining opportunities, even if you don't take advantage of the themed buffets.
My ONLY criticism is the whole timeshare thing. After checking in, you are asked to visit with one of the hostesses and that's when the timeshare pressure begins. We turned them down initially, but they were persistent, although very nice. (Nothing like the creepy sharks that bombard you at the airport) On day two the timeshare gift offerings increased substantially, so we decided to take the plunge. We received $150 to use at the resort for food and $200 to use at the spa. This "money" went a long way. We used the spa credit towards our couple's massage on the beach (a must do!) and we used our food credit at La Frida and splurged. If you decide to do the timeshare presentation, be prepared to lose your morning. We were told it would only take about 1 hour and we ended up being there for about 3 hours. When we returned to the Pacifica our "hostess" asked how things went and we told her that she grossly misstated the presentation time. She claimed that we had every right to end the presentation after 1 hour and we still could've received our free gifts. I recommend trying this out if you end up at the presentation longer than promised.
The Pacifica is the perfect place to go for a quiet, romantic get-away. My husband and I have demanding jobs and we just wanted a nice trip to unwind and enjoy each other. The Pacifica delivered all the way around. We were very sad to leave. We will never forget the Pacifica!
