Once we arrived from the airport, which is about 40 mins away, we were very happy to finally arrive. We checked in and right away we were wisked over to a sales girl, that worked for the hotel, who wanted to sign us up for a time share tour. At that point in time all I wanted to do is go to my room and head directly for the pool. She went on and on about the $200 credit for food and $100 for the spa... which sounded fine.... Finally at our room, which was nice and clean. Very simple interior and comfy bed with a selection of pillows. A great view of the ocean. I am pretty sure all rooms had a great view. We stayed 5 days. The Seimpre resturant was good but not for the price. If you want to spend money on a good meal - go next door to the PB Sunset Hotel. La Fredia has AMAZING food and the decor...so much better. At Pacifica - stick to sitting by the pool, ordering drinks and snacks...that they are very good at. Room service, often arrived a bit cold. The spa was ok. Not the best deep tissue massage I have had... but nice and relaxing.
Back to the time share tour, if you go...be ready to be there a good three hours , even if they say you will only be there an hour. Also be ready with an excuse to not buy...unless you want to... We did get the $200 credit for food but not the $100 spa. We asked about it and they said we had to pay $50 for the $100 credit...which was not what was offered. Overall, if you are looking for a transforming spa experience, you may be disapointed - but if you want to relax by the pool with drinks - this is a good place - with no screaming children...although on our third day- a wedding party took over the pool with about 20 guest -all were very loud and annoying. Throwing frisbees about like it was club med. The staff did nothing about it. After two days of peace and quite. This group ruined the relaxing atmosphere immediatly upon arrival.

Just returned from a week at this exceptional resort. I could not have been more pleased with the entire Pacifica experience, from the lobby (a very peaceful environment, and welcome after the usual SJD airport abuse) to the pools (very pleasant) to the staff (attentive and helpful without being pushy) to the restaurants (some of the best dining we've experienced in Mexico, period). If anything, Pacifica undersells itself; you have to go seek out the business center (which really is there, just not mentioned in the room guide), and the Beach Royalty perk is criminally undersold (it was the best night of our stay). Yes, there are occasional forays down to the hotel by the Sunset Beach crowd up the hill, but they usually find it too sedate for their liking and are gone within the half-day. For couples seeking a romantic retreat, Pacifica has it all - and town is a $10 cab ride away if you feel like ripping it up for an evening. Too many positives to list here - suffice it to say that we've always left resorts in Mexico with an overall feeling of 'it was great...but' (insert whatever crippling factor cost it an excellent rating). No buts here; we're going back. Highly recommended for anyone needing to recharge their batteries.

  • Liked — Focused on its demographic - did not try to be all things to all people
  • Disliked — Nothing. If anything, there's more to this resort than is even promoted.

My husband and I stayed at the Pacifica in December 2006 and couldn't wait to come back. It was beautiful, peaceful, luxurious ... the list goes on and on. We were quite disappointed when we returned, though. The pool was very crowded with loud and rowdy timeshare guests and visitors from other hotels. The whole point of paying a premium to stay at the Pacifica is for the poolside silence. The visitors totally ruined that ambiance and the hotel can't or won't ask them to tone it down. The facilities also seemed more run down, which was disappointing because the hotel was pristine last year.

  • Liked — beautiful views, generally more quiet than the average resort
  • Disliked — noisy timeshare guests and vistors from other hotels

Stayed at Pacifica solely because of the great deal they are offering. We have been going to Cabo for a long time and know that we prefer being closer to town but couldn't pass up the great offer. Would I stay there again? Probably not but not because it isn't a nice place.
Pros--
New
Beautiful grounds
Nice pools
Quiet
Not to crowded
Nice staff
Cons--
To far out (for us)
No kitchen
Rooms very minimal and small(the deal rooms)
Expensive food(for us) We like cheap eats!
Going into it we knew what Pacifica was going to be like so no surprises. We just love being able to walk to the Marina, restaurants, shops, Lovers Beach. Location means alot to us. Love having a kitchen and a large room with all the amenities. We own at Playa Grande and really like the big rooms and space that we have there.
It really all depends what you are looking for and for some Pacifica fits---just not for us. :-)

My husband and I stayed there for 7 days and we're ready to plan our return. The resort is beautiful. Service was excellent! This is a great place to go if you need rejuvenation. We got a great night sleep everyday. The guests and employees were respectful of their noise levels.
We did attend the timeshare presentation which took us about 3hrs and that's due to our interest and asking many questions. The sales lady was nice, it was a painless experience.
Our only minor disappointment was the spa facilities at Pacifica. It was small and the decor was not as Zen and well thought out as the rest of the resort. I had a facial and my husband had a deep tissue massage, both of which were average. We heard the Spa at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Resort (just up the hill) was impressive. We will try that next time.
Anyways, this resort is one of the best vacations we've ever had!!
