Simply put: we loved our time at Casa Contenta. It was one of the most relaxing, rejuevenating, enjoyable vacation times ever. We don't normally book B&B's, because we treasure our privacy and space, but this place has blown all preconcieved notions aside. What the other reviewers have written is true, so I'll try not to repeat what's already been said.

Here's what we loved best:

Great beds! So many beds in Mexico are rock hard and painful for me to sleep on. These beds are firm, but with a soft covering. Top notch linens too.

Spaciousness: within our own room, the home itself, and the property as a whole. The expansiveness of the place naturally inspires deep breathing and relaxation.

Peace and quiet (a la Mexico.....in Mexico there are always plenty of ambient sounds), a hilltop perch, stunning views all providing tranquility from the fast pace of the city below.

Artistic gardens that are an extension of the living space, and being within private, interesting gardens gave me the connection to Mexico's earth that my spirit craved.

Receiving a massage from Norma, arranged by Lori, was heavenly.

Craig and Lori share this remarkable home with open-hearted hospitality that goes beyond mere innkeeper mentality. The staff they employ to help keep everything so lovely also exude kindness and care.

Here it is easy to slow down and simply "be". For us, this is the essence of a relaxing vacation. We found it pretty hard to leave Casa Contenta, each day beckoned us to stay put and enjoy life right "at home".

We savored the extra treat of being there during the time their own family members were there. What a special joy that turned out to be! Thank you all.

PS The only thing I can think of to make the experience better would be to return with a group of dear friends and rent the entire place for a music, art and writing retreat.

We just returned from a 7 night stay at Casa Contenta. The experience was outstanding. We arrived tired and the weather very hot (90's). We were warmly welcomed by Lori and Craig with refreshing drinks and cool towels. How good does that get! Our suite Octoillo was spacious with all the amenities you could think of, sparkling clean and great views of their beautiful cactus and agave gardens. The villa has 5 suites and is built on the hills overlooking the bay. Each morning Dora and Chuy served incredible breafasts, entres changing daily. You could leisurely dine, read on the terrace watching the cruise ships pull into port. Definitely the BEST VIEW in CABO. Hands down! We checked out may other hotels in the area and were really happy we had this sanctuary to retreat to each day.
The drive to Todos Santos was a little gruelling but worth it. They have some very good artists living there and the quality of their work outstanding. Also San Jose has wonderful galleries and a bird sactuary which is a must see. If we are ever in Los Cabos again this is definitely where we will stay. HIgh Kudos to both Lori and Craig for all your talents and making another special place on this planet that they share with others.

Craig and Lori have pretty much thought of all the details for you: filtered tap water (no 'Revenge), full size restaurant-style refridgerator a few steps from the pool, roof deck to start and end your day, great coffee w/ breakfast, close to town but can't hear the town, incredible garden, close to Costco (yes, they honor your membership in the U.S.), plenty of seats around the property, comfortable beds, and clean rooms with air coolers for a deep sleep. Craig and Lori are also a great source of information - they helped setup my two favorite outings during my stay. Quite simply: it's better service than you will get at any other place.

This was my 2nd time in Cabo, my 1st time driving and my 1st time at a bed & breakfast and this was very clearly a step up from my last visit, where I stayed at the Marina Fiesta downtown. Sure you have to rent a car but you see so much more of los Cabos this way and driving in Mexico only takes a few minutes to figure out their go-right-to-turn-left system, that dirt roads dont imply a dead end, and that flashing green is a warning to stop - everything else is like driving in the U.S.

Verdict: excellent choice

This was the most relaxing vacation that we have ever been on! Lori made choosing what activities and resturants to go to a snap. Every suggestion she gave us was perfect. Imagine staying with a local that really wants your vacation to be wonderful. I have only amazing things to say about the B&B. It was charming and comfortable, it really felt like home. Forget the huge hotels, this is the place to be!
