We recently returned from our wonderful stay at the RIU Palace. I must preface this review, noting that we won our 6 day stay so our perspective may be different from those who paid for the experience. The resort is gorgeous and clean, staff is great and hard working, and management was polite and accommodating.
We had a wonderful, relaxing time and would definitely recommend the RIU and Cabos, infact we are planning a trip to another RIU resort this summer. The location is near enough to walk to town, but quiet and secluded enough to feel completely relaxed. The view is spectacular! One of the most beautiful in the world!!! Our first trip to Mexico and we were very at home with the warmth of this hard working, family orientated culture.
The staff was pleasant and accommodating. The resort, although under expansion, was very clean, with the staff constantly keeping up on the maintenance. They are doubling the size of this Resort with a sister hotel. It will be the size of a small city when completed.
The pools were clean and beautiful, but water was too cool for most swimmers. There is an unpleasant “scent" that does come and go from the beach. We brought a candle and air freshener, and were only bothered by it in our room only a couple times. Our room was gorgeous. We had a Jacuzzi suite. It was large, immaculate and housekeeping was wonderful. The spa was nice, had a great massage. The gym was small and warm and could have been better.
The food was good. Many choices. The buffets did run low of foods and utensils at times, but once again the staff was always accommodating. We were satisfied with the quality of food, drink and service and we felt it was exactly what an all inclusive is about.
We went in late April and the hotel was basically adults, perhaps because it was during school, but felt it was definitely geared for adults, not children or teens.
Would definitely recommend RIU!
