We just returned from a week at the beautiful Hacienda del Mar . This was our second visit, and first since becoming a vacation owner of a 3 bedroom penthouse. The rooms are large and all have 2 queen beds plus a king in the master. The resort is simply spectacular. The lush landscaping, winding walks, meadering pools, bubbling fountains and gorgeous architecture make you feel like you've stepped back into old Mexico. It is such a soothing place to return after a hot, bustling day in Cabo.
The resort has everything you could ask for with restaurants, spa, workout room, lots of pools to choose from and plenty of chairs. We loved the new pool area by the golf course, it was never crowded. Be sure and keep up with your towel cards, as you will be charged for them at the end of your stay if they are not all turned in. Yes, food and drink are expensive, but its a resort, so expect that. Happy hour specials run at the different pools throughout the day, so wait to order until then. When you get to town, hit the Costco or the City Market (first main light in Cabo, on the left), which is only a $2/day membership and just like Sam's. Also the new "Mega" supermarket in San Jose is an option. The rooms have well equipped kitchens. Tomatoes is great for their wonderful breakfast buffet ($25) or Grisoles for $12.99 although not as varied.
We rented a car and recommend it, as its a long, hot walk up to the highway to catch the bus. Definately plan to spend time in San Jose, good shopping, eating and less hustle than Cabo.
There is a very nice laundry building on site, but it is $7 per load plus $2 dryer.
We love this resort. It is beautiful and has wonderful service and amenities. Plan a trip down soon !
