We Stayed at the Hacienda Del Mar Vacation Club/Sheraton with our
family from Aug 11-18. Overall we had a very nice enjoyable stay.
Upon check-in a sales person wanted to give us the welcome package. We
declined since we know it was actually a timeshare presentation. She
did pester us a couple more times before we left but a simple "no
thanks" and we never were bothered again.
The room we exchanged for through RCI was a 2 bedroom/3 bath Presidential Suite w/full kitchen living/ dining area and washer and dryer.
The first room they gave us I was not happy with.
It had a fairly small patio area overlooking the Vacation club check-
in area and parking lot. Fortunately I knew through prior experience
not to have the bellman bring up our luggage until we viewed our room.
We went back down to check-in and informed them we preferred something
more private didn't have to be ocean front a garden view was fine.
They gave me a few options. We chose the top floor facing the west
golf-course that also had a beautiful ocean view. This room also had a
large patio area which was nice.
The beds and linens were top quality and very comfortable. The kitchen
was well stocked. The furniture and overall ambiance was that of a
rustic Spanish style which was pretty. A couple of minor complaints
one was the living room couch that also serves as another bed was very
small and too soft. It was kind of like one of those fold-able IKEA
couches that I thought a little odd in this space.
Also there is no DVD player in the rooms that I also thought a little
odd since most timeshare resorts have them in the living rooms. You
could either rent them for $15.00 a day or $30.00 for the week. We
bought one at Wal-mart for $40.00 and brought it back home with us.
Worked well for us since the next resort we stayed at for the second
half of our trip also did not supply one.
The entire resort is immaculately manicured with beautiful lush
grounds. The pool areas were also beautiful and the water temp was
okay. I would have preferred a little cooler but pool temp is often a
problem down in Cabo. The beach views were beautiful and great for
watching the experienced surfers that were the only ones allowed to
actually swim in the water as this area is red flagged.
My husband and I enjoyed the pool side service they always had a happy
hour special drink whenever we asked. The key is you have to ask,
otherwise they'll just give you whatever you request and no even
mention a drink special. The prices were not as expensive as I
thought. pretty average for that kind of resort not outrageous by any
stretch.
We only ate at one of the restaurants "Tomatoes" during our stay
there, we had the buffet dinner which was very good and offered a wide
variety of Mexican dishes and a fajita bar and a nice selection of
salads and desserts.
All the staff were great and whenever we called the concierge for
anything from reservations to housekeeping requests they helped us in
a timely and professional manner. They also did turn-down service in
the evenings if your were out and left chocolates on the bed that my
kids loved. If you happen to be in your room they would knock on the
door basket in hand full of chocolates and ask if you would like any.
Nice touch.
We did pay for the Internet service but since my husband and teen sons
can't live without, it was worth the cost. although there are several
wi-fi spots around the resort.
We knew what to expect staying in the corridor since we stayed at FA
last year and liked the location so no complaints here either. Great
location easy to get to CSL and SJD highly recommend this resort!
Feel free to send me a pm if you have any other questions
