Hi, thought I would write a review since I depended on this site as we were making our decision. We wanted an all inclusive and this was much better then the only other all inclusive we've been to. No reservations and no limits on your visits to the ala carte restaraunts was nice. The Italian restaurant was closed, but the Oceana and Japanese place were open every night along with the buffett and seaside grill. Japanese place was great and so was Oceana, other 2 were fair.
Someone said there were alot of bees and some said no. Well, there are bees at the beach bar and some in the lobby bar during the day, I don't think they can help it. No bugs ANYWHERE else.
We did bring proof of our marriage certificate for our 10 year anniversary, to get the package. We got a King size bed in a junior suite over looking the main pool and ocean, was a very nice room with refridgerator and microwave that both worked.
We got the banner on the door, a romantic dinner on the beach which was terrific, food, service etc. when getting back to our room they had candles and the bed decorated. Was so nice and special for our anniversary!
Then we were there through hurricane Henriette-the electricity went out, they closed all restaurants(which are all outdoor, so they had to) They moved the buffett type restaurant into one of their ballrooms and fed us there for a 24 hour period. Room service wasn't available, but we stocked up! The room still had lighting in the entry way, the safe, the door and the refriderator still worked and we got the TV plugged in with the refridge. So it wasn't too bad when we had to stay in our rooms during the 3 to 4 hour eye of the strom. We think the hotel handled the hurricane and all the guests really well.
David the concierge is the BEST!! He was so helpful to us and everybody! Transportaion reservations, flight info, hurricane info, movies, booking of tours and dinners! Can't say enough about him!
The service was great for us everywhere all the time! We did bring alot of $1 bills to tip with, but they were serving nicely anyway.
We slept fine on the beds, they brought us more pillows.
Room service food wasn't great but it was timely and they would bring 6 packs of beer etc.
WE really can't complain about anything.
If we had to say the negatives it would be that there should be more adult entertainment.
Candy also was great, from the entertainment crew, she was our poker dealer for 2 nights and those nights were fun fun!
WE recommend this hotel, but maybe not at hurricane season!

Do not wast your time and money. The rooms were okay, but I was promissed a Honeymoon package with an ocean view and a jacuzzi tube. I got a pool view with a shower tube and no honeymoon package (you were supposed to get a banner on your door, flowers, gift basket and other stuff). The management staff was horriable in trying to fix the problem. They said that they do not have any jacuzzi tubes, I was at the travel agent's office when she called to confirm that there was one in our room. They could not give us a room with an ocean view because they were sold out and they would not credit us any money. The food was so bad that several nights we when out in the town to eat dinner. The restaurants were mostly buffet style or very limited food selection. We had a bad aunt problem in our room and they were nice enought to supply aunt spray for that. Do not go to their day spa...I tried 2 different types of messages and came out worst than going in! Go to the Hilton in Cabo. We went to a time share tour (just to get the free coupons for free AVT rides (which I recomend), night cruse on the ocean, fishing trip and snorkling) they had great food and very nice place.

We just got back from our honeymoon and stayed at Dreams for 9 days. Dreams was relaxing and romantic but of course, every place has some negatives.

When we first arrived, getting into our room was a disaster and initally, I was not impressed with our room. It was a little dirty with two double beds ...we were on our honeymoon and wanted a better room than this. On the second day, we were upgraded to a junior suite room with a king bed. Better, but it would have been nice to get a honeymoon suite but I guess that would've been more money. Anyways, all the rooms have balconies and overlook the water , so you can always hear the waves crashing which was relaxing. They are doing some remodeling so there is an area where there are a bunch of sofas, and tv stands-looks really bad... the rooms need updated and when they are done with that, I think it will look better. You will not get a room before 3pm. so don't plan on it.

We didn't really like the food that was served for lunch, the buffet wasn't all that great but the breakfast buffets and the dinners were good. Oceana was the best restaurant, and also the Asian restaurant. Portofino was not open when we were there. Some of the stuff on the buffet was really good and then other stuff not so much. The restaurants overlook the water and we thought service was good- although the first day the server left for the day and forgot to put our order in...the service got much better though.

The pools are awesome, there is a quiet pool that is smaller but we went there almost every day...lay out on the rafts and it was so relaxing..they have hammocks there and on the beach to lounge in. pool bars are great....

If you are on your honeymoon, you want to ask for the amenities. We had to give them our marriage certificate which I thought was unnecessary because others didn't need to. Although, we had someone fax it to them, it wasn't a problem. You get a bottle of champagne and they decorate your room one night , and you get romantic dinner on the beach right by the restaurants. That was romantic and we had the meal by Oceana and had filet with shrimp and their new england chowder was awesome! They also give you breakfast to your room one day.

I think it's a romantic place for couples and there were a ton of honeymooners there. Also, it's good for families with children as well. There really wasn't a ton of things to do at night. Each night there was some of kind of entertainment. There was live music at night and dancing on the beach which was cool, movies every night on large screens on the beach, and karoke one night....If you want nightlife, then this place isn't for you- you will need to go to Cabo for that. WE didn't really mind, because we were so tired by the end of the night, and it was nice hanging by the bar at times and listening to the live music or sit by the fire pit...also good way in meeting people.

We did some excursions. We did the ATV's which was 3 hours long and well worth it, horse back riding, kayaking and snorkeling...and zipline which I highly recommend even though I chickened out but my husband had a blast and if you're not afraid of heights and gutsy enough to do it, then you should. Everything was worth the money. Try to book excursions when you go downtown to Cabo because it's cheaper but watch out for the timeshare people-they'll give you a deal but then you have to listen to their lecture for hours.. go down to Cabo for a day of shopping or a night out...we went to Cabo Wabo with a couple of friends that we met, and also Mi Casa REstaurant...it was a great restaurant!

After 9 days, I was ready to go but it was relaxing and enjoyable spending time in a new place with my husband.

Dreams was a horrible experience. I am really surprised to see so many rave reviews and not to sound mean, but I really feel that if you loved this hotel you do not travel at all.

The room was super tacky and cold feeling. The hallway was cluttered with junk that was brought in from the patio. This was supposed to be the honeymoon suite!!!! Please see our photos.

The food was mediocure at best. I will never stay at an all inclusive again. It is not worth the money. We couldn't enjoy a bottle of wine at dinner without paying extra for it. And the tequila used for the margaritas is NOT top shelf. We paid a ton for our room and it worked out to be more than going to a five star resort and paying for food and drink ala carte. And trust me Dreams is NOT five star.

Neither of the pools are directly on the beach. The entire resort has this hokey feel as they offer activities hourly reminding of the movie Dirty Dancing set in the 1960s. They had things like Casino night and Mexican night. And if you wanted to do an excursion like snorkeling you had to pay extra.

We were supposed to stay at Dreams for 7 nights, but only stayed for 1. Extremely disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this resort to anyone.

  • Disliked — Horrible accomodations, food and wine. The pool wasn't on the beach.

I allowed all of these inconsisent reviews to scare me. I am a native new yorker, and have traveled and lived in different places around the world, so I was concerned about going to an all inclusive for 2 weeks where the food may not be great.
My husband and I had an amazing trip!
Downside--can't swim in the ocean and it's incredibly hot there
Upside--I thought the service was nice and consisent (but remember, you're in Mexico, so the pace is a bit slower), the food was great, and the pools were gorgeous and well taken care of. My husband and I also had multiple spa treatments which were well worth it!
This is a great place for honeymooners--I don't know that I would choose this hotel if I were single.

Have fun!
