My boyfriend and I stayed at Dreams May 24-29 and it was not long enough. I had read the reviews and was a little nervous. The entire vacation was great. When we were there most of the other occupants were couples, so the week was very low key. We had a little problem with the room at first, but the problem was resolved within 2 hours. Our Junior Suite was clean and had a beautiful view. We were right over the adult pool and you never would have known it. The drinks were great and not watered down. The food was good. Oceana was our favorite; skip the Asian place. Bring nice clothes for dinner. Most of the restaurants have a dress code.

Some folks had complaints while we were there but they were mostly about location and a lack of a party scene. I saw both of those as positives. The location is between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo, so if you want to be in the city this is not a good location. The bars shut down early, but you can drink all day and room service is 24 hrs and they will deliver beer.

I work in the hospitality industry and was impressed with the entire staff. We tipped but it was never necessary.

If you are looking for a mellow vacation with no stress and a margarita in hand, Dreams is the perfect resort. For the price, we would love to go again.

Talk about a wonderful experience! From the minute we walked into the hotel lobby that is open and looks out onto the pool and ultimately the beach, we were impressed. I was worried with some of the reviews we read, but I am telling you that the hotel was breathtaking, the service was awesome, the alcohol and food were fabulous, and our room was beautiful with an ocean view. We booked through Travelocity and had no problems the week of June 8 - 13.

I highly recommend going on some of the excursions. We had booked in advance the CaboRey Dinner Cruise and Snorkeling through Terramar that I found online. The dinner cruise was fun, but was pretty pricey. The snorkeling was awesome! We went out on a catamaran with about 20 other people to Santa Maria, about an hour away. They served margaritas, beers, appetizers on board. We snorkeled for about an hour and 1/2. It was so much fun...

We decided at the last minute to go horsebackriding for an hour on our final day. The horsebackriding place is in walking distance from the hotel. We had fun, but I wanted to ride on the beach. I found out when we got there that the beach trip is only when you pay for the 2 hour ride. Ours went up the mountainous desert. It was very hot at 9:00 am, but it was still fun!

Don't worry about missing out on going in the ocean. Who needs it when you have amazing pools with swim-up bars, waterfalls, and views of the ocean all together.

We went to Cabo San Lucas to El Squid Roe for lunch. Apparently, it is the hot spot at night, but we went during the daytime. The food was awesome and the staff were great! Cabo Wabo (the place owned by Sammy Hagar - I think) was very expensive for drinks. It cost us 20 dollars for a margarita, beer, and 2 small bottled waters. We didn't stay for the entertainment, but were kind of shocked at the prices. Cabo was fun to buy souvenirs, but we preferred staying at our beautiful resort.

Also, remember to tip the staff at the hotel. Most do not make very much money and work so hard. A dollar goes a long way. In fact, we brought a roll of 100 ones with us to tip everyone from servers, to the maid, bellboy, etc. We never were deprived of service!

We definitely will go back and take friends. Overall, Dreams was an amazing experience! We couldn't have asked for a better time!

Stayed June 5th-8th at Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar, Dreams from June 8th-12th and Westin Resort & Spa, San Jose Del Cabo June 12-14th. First, need to tell you the definition of Cabo San Lucas is home of Time Share sales. You can't get away from it. Each hotel has time share sales and will try and get to you one way or another. In fact, we rented from Alamo and it started at their counter. After finding out that in Mexico if you decline the insurance you are obligated to pay $5 additional per day, we decided the $150 from the Time Share guy would help pay for the rental. Hence, we ended up going to a presentation at Pueblo Bonita (where they made their 90 minute presentation and let you go in peace). But, back to the point...Time Share presentations are everywhere and you can't escape them. Just a word of advice hold out for at least $250 becasue you can get it. WE ended up doing another presentation at Mayan Palace and received $250 but, unlike Pueblo Bonita it was a horrific experience - worse then buying a car - they wouldn't let us leave after 90 minutes until the Manager cam over and made his case and then when he was done turned us over to Mr. Slick who tried again to sell us a 5 year deal - bottom line they want payback for their $250 (si in fairness we listened as annoyed as we were). Also, don't let anyone fool you about Cabo being a beach destination. Yes there are beached but, don't expect to swim in them at most of the hotels (including the 3 in this review). It is impossible to swim as you would be taking your life in your hands. Yes, you can drive to a couple of palces and go swimming but, who wants to leave their beach front hotel to do that. All the hotels mentioned overcompensate by building lavish beautiful swimming pools. The Sheraton by far had the best pools that had to cost a small fortune. I can tell you absolutely their were no faults with the SHeraton (expect to pay lots for all your meals). Dreams has the potential to be 5 stars but, they need to get their act together. Inconsitency would be the theme a t Dreams. At times service was great, others lousy. Food was decent but, not gourmet. The Westin was architectually the most incredible hotel to be seen in Cabo. Words can't describe it. Even if you are not staying there take the time to look at it and the layout of the timeshares (again food prices were expensive). Food in Cabo downtown was good at every restaurant we ate at, none jumped out as being a must with the exception of The Office (must go on Thrsday or Sunday for maximum thrill). No bargains to be had - Costco is same price as U.S. with the exception of Liquor. Best place to buy all your food (grocery items) at CCC (ask anyone where it is) or even better, 1/8 mile past CCC is real great supermarket with incredibly cheap prices (forgot the name - starts with an S). Driving in Cabo was easy and enjoyable - felt safe the entire time. Did a 4 hour ATV Tour (read the fine print you actually go on ATV for 2 hours - rest is transportation time) but had an incredible time (women better wear a sports bra or support as you are going to feel it).All in all had a great time but not sure we would go back because we rather stay at hotels beachront where you can actually go in the water and since there are no shortage of such places maybe Cabo isn't really for us.

Before my husband and i decided to go to Dreams we checked the reviews almost daily - its so fun to see all the good ones...and this is, from personal experience, another good review!
We are in our early 40's and fit in right away. We got picked up from the airport in an Escalade. Weather was 95 degrees everyday - one hour in the intense sun gets very HOT. But oh so NICE! Pool is wonderful, with floatie mattresses to lay on. The quiet pool also has tables in the pool with the chairs partially under water.
We thought the food was awesome. Just be aware that two of the restaurants require pants for the gentlemen. Ladies, we're ok!
Spa - top notch! We loved sitting by the firepit at night - w/ mai tai in hand, and meeting people from all over the USA. Service is good (a little inconsistant) but the staff is WONDERFUL, they do their best to please, w/ my pleasure, no problem, etc.
We took the 2 hours to do the time share thing and ended up getting Jet skis on the ocean for one hour - what a blast that was!
Vendors on the beach can be pushy, but a little no gracias was enough.
Waves crash very hard, and you can hear them loudly from some rooms.
Not everyone is all-inclusive, so they are always asking for your room number - we just learned it in Spanish, to make it fun...
Remember: this is a remodeled hotel, not brand new, so the rooms aren't perfect, but everything IS clean and comfortable.
It is a place you should enjoy VERY much, Next time we are making it 7 days or more! Enjoy and savor your time there, it goes oh so fast!

From the moment we walked into Dreams, we knew we were going to have the time of our lives at this absolutely gorges resort. We had a regular room, the junior suite and it by far surpassed our expectation. It was very spacious with a great view of the pool and the ocean.
The staff was very friendly especially Alejandro at the Barracuda bar. He made us lots of drinks exactly how we like it. The food at the restaurants was magnificent and there ws lots to choose from. We ate at a different place every night at it was great fun trying out new things to eat. You can also order room service any time, day or night. They will even bring you food or drinks while you're relaxing in the hammock, or just laying out on the beach or by the pool(even while you're IN the pool). It was great!!!
There was a theme night every night (Pirot night, Kareoke night, latin night....) and they even showed movies outdoors on a huge screen. The rooms very always clean and the beds made (with a complementary chocolate on the pillow and the forecast for the next day on a little slip....94 and sunny the entire week), the fridge was restocked every day as well.
This was the first trip my boyfriend and I had been on together and we are already planning on going back to dreams next year. it truly is the best trip you can take. You will have to see it to believe it.
