Talk about a wonderful experience! From the minute we walked into the hotel lobby that is open and looks out onto the pool and ultimately the beach, we were impressed. I was worried with some of the reviews we read, but I am telling you that the hotel was breathtaking, the service was awesome, the alcohol and food were fabulous, and our room was beautiful with an ocean view. We booked through Travelocity and had no problems the week of June 8 - 13.

I highly recommend going on some of the excursions. We had booked in advance the CaboRey Dinner Cruise and Snorkeling through Terramar that I found online. The dinner cruise was fun, but was pretty pricey. The snorkeling was awesome! We went out on a catamaran with about 20 other people to Santa Maria, about an hour away. They served margaritas, beers, appetizers on board. We snorkeled for about an hour and 1/2. It was so much fun...

We decided at the last minute to go horsebackriding for an hour on our final day. The horsebackriding place is in walking distance from the hotel. We had fun, but I wanted to ride on the beach. I found out when we got there that the beach trip is only when you pay for the 2 hour ride. Ours went up the mountainous desert. It was very hot at 9:00 am, but it was still fun!

Don't worry about missing out on going in the ocean. Who needs it when you have amazing pools with swim-up bars, waterfalls, and views of the ocean all together.

We went to Cabo San Lucas to El Squid Roe for lunch. Apparently, it is the hot spot at night, but we went during the daytime. The food was awesome and the staff were great! Cabo Wabo (the place owned by Sammy Hagar - I think) was very expensive for drinks. It cost us 20 dollars for a margarita, beer, and 2 small bottled waters. We didn't stay for the entertainment, but were kind of shocked at the prices. Cabo was fun to buy souvenirs, but we preferred staying at our beautiful resort.

Also, remember to tip the staff at the hotel. Most do not make very much money and work so hard. A dollar goes a long way. In fact, we brought a roll of 100 ones with us to tip everyone from servers, to the maid, bellboy, etc. We never were deprived of service!

We definitely will go back and take friends. Overall, Dreams was an amazing experience! We couldn't have asked for a better time!

Stayed June 5th-8th at Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar, Dreams from June 8th-12th and Westin Resort & Spa, San Jose Del Cabo June 12-14th. First, need to tell you the definition of Cabo San Lucas is home of Time Share sales. You can't get away from it. Each hotel has time share sales and will try and get to you one way or another. In fact, we rented from Alamo and it started at their counter. After finding out that in Mexico if you decline the insurance you are obligated to pay $5 additional per day, we decided the $150 from the Time Share guy would help pay for the rental. Hence, we ended up going to a presentation at Pueblo Bonita (where they made their 90 minute presentation and let you go in peace). But, back to the point...Time Share presentations are everywhere and you can't escape them. Just a word of advice hold out for at least $250 becasue you can get it. WE ended up doing another presentation at Mayan Palace and received $250 but, unlike Pueblo Bonita it was a horrific experience - worse then buying a car - they wouldn't let us leave after 90 minutes until the Manager cam over and made his case and then when he was done turned us over to Mr. Slick who tried again to sell us a 5 year deal - bottom line they want payback for their $250 (si in fairness we listened as annoyed as we were). Also, don't let anyone fool you about Cabo being a beach destination. Yes there are beached but, don't expect to swim in them at most of the hotels (including the 3 in this review). It is impossible to swim as you would be taking your life in your hands. Yes, you can drive to a couple of palces and go swimming but, who wants to leave their beach front hotel to do that. All the hotels mentioned overcompensate by building lavish beautiful swimming pools. The Sheraton by far had the best pools that had to cost a small fortune. I can tell you absolutely their were no faults with the SHeraton (expect to pay lots for all your meals). Dreams has the potential to be 5 stars but, they need to get their act together. Inconsitency would be the theme a t Dreams. At times service was great, others lousy. Food was decent but, not gourmet. The Westin was architectually the most incredible hotel to be seen in Cabo. Words can't describe it. Even if you are not staying there take the time to look at it and the layout of the timeshares (again food prices were expensive). Food in Cabo downtown was good at every restaurant we ate at, none jumped out as being a must with the exception of The Office (must go on Thrsday or Sunday for maximum thrill). No bargains to be had - Costco is same price as U.S. with the exception of Liquor. Best place to buy all your food (grocery items) at CCC (ask anyone where it is) or even better, 1/8 mile past CCC is real great supermarket with incredibly cheap prices (forgot the name - starts with an S). Driving in Cabo was easy and enjoyable - felt safe the entire time. Did a 4 hour ATV Tour (read the fine print you actually go on ATV for 2 hours - rest is transportation time) but had an incredible time (women better wear a sports bra or support as you are going to feel it).All in all had a great time but not sure we would go back because we rather stay at hotels beachront where you can actually go in the water and since there are no shortage of such places maybe Cabo isn't really for us.

Before my husband and i decided to go to Dreams we checked the reviews almost daily - its so fun to see all the good ones...and this is, from personal experience, another good review!
We are in our early 40's and fit in right away. We got picked up from the airport in an Escalade. Weather was 95 degrees everyday - one hour in the intense sun gets very HOT. But oh so NICE! Pool is wonderful, with floatie mattresses to lay on. The quiet pool also has tables in the pool with the chairs partially under water.
We thought the food was awesome. Just be aware that two of the restaurants require pants for the gentlemen. Ladies, we're ok!
Spa - top notch! We loved sitting by the firepit at night - w/ mai tai in hand, and meeting people from all over the USA. Service is good (a little inconsistant) but the staff is WONDERFUL, they do their best to please, w/ my pleasure, no problem, etc.
We took the 2 hours to do the time share thing and ended up getting Jet skis on the ocean for one hour - what a blast that was!
Vendors on the beach can be pushy, but a little no gracias was enough.
Waves crash very hard, and you can hear them loudly from some rooms.
Not everyone is all-inclusive, so they are always asking for your room number - we just learned it in Spanish, to make it fun...
Remember: this is a remodeled hotel, not brand new, so the rooms aren't perfect, but everything IS clean and comfortable.
It is a place you should enjoy VERY much, Next time we are making it 7 days or more! Enjoy and savor your time there, it goes oh so fast!

From the moment we walked into Dreams, we knew we were going to have the time of our lives at this absolutely gorges resort. We had a regular room, the junior suite and it by far surpassed our expectation. It was very spacious with a great view of the pool and the ocean.
The staff was very friendly especially Alejandro at the Barracuda bar. He made us lots of drinks exactly how we like it. The food at the restaurants was magnificent and there ws lots to choose from. We ate at a different place every night at it was great fun trying out new things to eat. You can also order room service any time, day or night. They will even bring you food or drinks while you're relaxing in the hammock, or just laying out on the beach or by the pool(even while you're IN the pool). It was great!!!
There was a theme night every night (Pirot night, Kareoke night, latin night....) and they even showed movies outdoors on a huge screen. The rooms very always clean and the beds made (with a complementary chocolate on the pillow and the forecast for the next day on a little slip....94 and sunny the entire week), the fridge was restocked every day as well.
This was the first trip my boyfriend and I had been on together and we are already planning on going back to dreams next year. it truly is the best trip you can take. You will have to see it to believe it.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Dreams with another couple for four days. We can't say enough about it. Rooms were clean, the grounds well maintained, and the food was wonderful. All the staff were friendly and eager to help out.

We did the time share thing. We were annoyed that our "salesperson" was very pushy. We got a free ATV trip out of it, so it was well worth the time spent.

We had never stayed at an all-inclusive resort prior to this trip. We are sold on it. I believe there were 5 restaurants to chose from. We were impressed by the food and wonderful service. Tips are so appreciated.

The pool was beautiful, clean and refreshing. Swim up bar too. The Miami Vice was my choice of drink! Bartenders were generous with the alcohol!

We would go back to Dreams in a heartbeat. We highly recommend it.

First of all, the hotel is GORGEUOS and truly a wonderful architectual feat (I`m a profesional architect). The staff was extremely friendly and always willing and ready to serve. The Explorer`s club (the great daycare) is wonderful with great and friendly staff. They give you these beepers like at restaurants and inform you if anything is wrong which was great because I didn`t have to worry about my diabectic son. The drinks and food were out of this world. I personally liked the tranquil pool over the other one because it was a lot more romantic for my wife and I. Other romantic aspects of the hotel were the fireplaces they had in such conviniently located places, the hammocks on the beach, and the amazing views the hotel had to offer of everthing, from the desert-like mountains (really great sunset) or the beutiful Sea of Cortez. The restaurants were family oriented except for some where there were no children allowed, but it was okay because there was a baby-sitting service. Rememer to bring some pants for dinner because there are two restaurants where you have to have pants to enter. All the rooms were always clean and were surprisingly big. The activities the hotel has to offer are great like the bungee, aqua aerobics, and other stuff along with the great and exuberant staff. The spa is absolutly wonderful with end-less options of treatments for the whole family, even the little ones. A hotel with everthing to offer and a time away from my hectic work was what i needed with my wife and family, and that`s what we got. This an all inclusive hotel which definetly went ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY. It would certanly be a crime not to return here a lot.

We are a young couple from Toronto that stayed at the Dreams from May 31 to June 6. Our vacation was purchased as an all-inclusive package at a great price. We have stayed at many all-inclusive resorts all over Mexico and the Caribbean. We were looking for a low-key, relaxing holiday and Dreams MET OUR EXPECTATIONS. We would stay there again and we recommend it.

Here are the details:

Resort: The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. There were more kids than expected but it was never a problem. Most of the guests are American and about 20% are not all-inclusive; because of this, you are asked for your room number every time you order (which eventually becomes a hassle). As opposed to other hotels in the area (i.e. maybe the RIU), the Dreams is not overrun by drunken party-goers, and there is no club on the grounds.

Food: We ate at each of the restaurants and ordered room service, and at all times the food was GREAT (we recommend the sea bass with chipotle sauce at Oceana). We did not experience waiting to be seated at the restaurants (there are no reservations), except on one occasion. The bars were very well stocked with premium alcohol and the mini bar was stocked with beer, pop and water. The wine selection on the all-inclusive is lean but you can purchase wine from a list.

Rooms: Ours was really large and always quiet, with a nice view of the ocean and a king sized bed. The tv had lots of cable channels, and we brought dvds from home to watch. We did not receive maid service for two days in a row. After complaining to the concierge, the service was prompt and efficient. We also did not receive our robes without first complaining to the concierge. The bathroom in our room was quite small, but there was always plenty of clean towels.

Beach: Like every hotel in the area, the giant waves and undertow make the beach unswimmable. The beach on the Dreams grounds has beach chairs and several hammocks that are built for two. Apparently there are swimmable beaches within a 20 minute walk. There is a bar on the beach, which is cool except that it has a serious problems with bees.

Pools: There are two pools, the main pool being more lively. The second pool is generally quieter but at times there were kids in the wading area. Getting pool chairs was never a problem, but there was obviously more selection earlier in the morning (8-9am). There were also a good number of floatation devices that are amazing!

Service: On the whole, the service was good but not great. The staff seemed really busy at times, so we made sure to always tip, especially the restaurant staff. Some of the staff speak little to no English, but there was never really a problem. There are many different activities offered daily, but the activities staff is not pushy. We were NEVER approached to purchase a time share. There were two weddings at the hotel on the Saturday of our stay and we did not experience any interruption in the quality of our service. We didn't participate in the nightly entertainment, some of which was good (movies on the beach) and some of which was cheesy (shows and karaoke). Internet at the hotel is expensive ($10/hr; use Internet cafes in town) and there is only one public phone (beside the washrooms @ check-in counter) from which you can call oversees without a fee (be wary of other phones, especially the room phone).

Spa: We had a couples massage at the spa which we enjoyed. The spa facilities are nice and well maintained, with a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.

Gym: Not a bad size for a resort. There are plenty of machines and free weights, but most of the cardio equipment doesn't work.

Area: Dreams is located directly between San Jose Del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. There are free shuttles from the hotel to both as well as city buses (for about $1 each way). We tried both and had no problems. Cabo is built-up with a mall and marina, while San Jose is a Mexican style town. The activities in the area include deep sea fishing, golf, snorkeling and surfing, none of which we tried. The golf courses looked nice, but are apparently very expensive (US$200+ per round).
