My husband and I stayed at Dreams during mothers day weekend May 9-13. Let me first start with the positives. The staff and the activities are great. They have volleyball games and pingpong tournaments that keep you entertained. Miguel is the best one of all the staff-fun and helpful. The hotel is nice and has a beautiful ocean view. The rooms are spacious and nice. The frig was a little dirty- but we had them clean it the next day and it was fine. They load the mini bar (which is just drinks) on a daily bases and clean the rooms very well. The shower didn't work when we got there and they fixed it right away. One day we didn't have warm water and we called them and they also addressed it right away. So overall the hotel and staff were good to great. ON THE OTHER HAND
The food was horrible to disgusting. Nothing was good. The first day we got there we had to get room service because everything was closed. We ordered a pizza and a hamburger. The burger was soggy and the pizza was obviously a very cheap frozen pizza microwaved and too cold. We ate at all the restaurants except for the sushi restaurant. The food just sucked. My husband who is not picky- could not stand the food. So much that the last day we went and ate in town and at the one and only palmilla. The breakfast buffet is edible-probably the only thing that wasn't bad- but how much can you screw up cereal? We ate at the oceana- their fancy restaurant and I ordered a salmon. It tasted funny!
We also found 2 dead bee's in our drink. When we told the waiter he didn't even apologize- apparently very normal for him.
My recommendations is if you can afford it go to the ONE and only palmilla. We ate two meals there and they were probably the best meals I've ever had and the hotel itself is gorgeous. I've been to a bunch of nice hotels around the world and the one and only is proabably the best we've ever seen.

I was extremely dissapointed with the servicet the entire time we stayed at Dreams Los Cabos. The only friendly staff members were the beach waiters- who were great. But the concierge, front desk and restaurant staff were all very rude and unaccomodating.
Additionally, they overcharged me for my room rate AND for a spa treatment, and have still not refunded any money and certainly have no plans to, either. The food was not very good either, and you have to drink their house wine or pay for a different bottle. Our airport shuttle- which we booked directly through the hotel- never showed up to pick us up, we had to take a shuttle and the hotel refused to reimburse us. Then, during our stay, we received a wake-up call at 5:00 in the morning to let us know our shuttle was ready to take us to the airport- two days before we were even scheduled to leave. No apologies here, either.

We stayed at Dreams from 4/15- 4/19 and had a great time! There was a group of 50 of us (work trip) and it seemed that everyone was very happy with their stay.
Check in was extremely easy. We actually got there around noon and knew our room wouldn't be ready yet so we head to the pool bar and grabbed a cocktail. Within an hour (two hours earlier than usual check in) they had gotten our room ready and brought our bags to the room for us!
We loved both pools! The infinity pool is beautiful and definitely the more lively of the two. The staff tries hard to get people involved in the activities but a lot of their efforts were to no avail. (maybe our crowd was just off?) My group actually preferred the second pool as it was less crowded, had better music, and less kids.
The food was decent. If you've ever been to an all inclusive you know not to expect 4 star. I was actually more disappointed with the bar food than the restaurant food. I would have liked to see more options throughout the day. Simple things like grilled cheese and BLT's were missing from the menu. The Italian and Japanese restaurants were my favorite. The Japanese menu was hit or miss but the sushi was always decent. We didn't actually make it to the Seafood restaurant but I heard it was good. Probably the only real disappointing aspect about the food was the room service. It took them a while so by the time you got the food it was luke warm but who really cares when you're 8 pina coladas in and just want to munch on something before you take a nap!
My boyfriend and I did the zip line excursion and had a blast. WARNING however - there is a lot of hiking and zero shade so be in decent shape and be open to hiking for three hours. We weren't prepared so I was in a state of shock by the end but loved it none the less. There are 8 ziplines which are a complete blast and the staff are so funny and nice.
Overall - extremely enjoyed my stay at Dreams and would definitely recommend it to anyone else!

We stayed at Dreams April 5-12, 2008 with 3 other couples to RELAX! The first thing we noticed was how clean it is. We saw staff at all hours sweeping, mopping, cleaning. The public bathrooms were all very clean with wonderful incense burning. We had an average suite - no pressures to upgrade or listen to time share ptiches.
One friend & I had fabulous massages at the spa. It is very nice there & worth checking out.
As for food, we loved the Japanese and Oceana the most. Most of the food is ok all-inclusive type quality. Dinners were the best. They had different lunch buffets at the beach bar every day, which is good if you just want to grab something & not have to "cover up" One thing we noticed was that they leave mayonaise and coffee cream on the tables all the time. It was 90 + degrees every day- not sure if that is the cause of some food poisoning- we never used it and were fine all week, all 8 of us. We even used tap water in our room to make coffee.
The pool bars have staff that bring you drinks & any food that you might want. We had excellent service at all the pools, but Daniel at the lower pool was outstanding!! Antonio at the Lobby Bar is awesome too! I had trouble getting waited on when I would walk/swim up to the bars myself, even with a dollar or two waving. The bartenders waited on men before me. That got a little annoying at times- good thing I had Daniel to take care of my thirst!!
Our room was always clean, had turn-down service every night with our little chocolates & the next day's itinerary. The in-room frig was restocked every day. We didn't use the air, slept with the balcony door opened, it was nice to sleep with the sounds of the ocean & the fresh breeze.
The daily activities seemed adequate- no pressure to join in. There are people on the beach selling their wares behind a rope, apparently they can't cross the rope onto the Dreams property. Can't tell you how many times I heard "Hey lady . . . " The resort has a Mexican night when they bring in some vendors, so if you don't make it off the resort, you still have a chance to shop.
We went into Cabo twice, with the group it was $12 each roundtrip cab. My husband & I took a trip to San Jose & it was $20 each way.
All in all, it was a great vacation because we made it that way. I probably won't go back mostly because of the location- it took approx. 9 hours with layovers to get there & home (we live in Michigan). And we just didn't feel the love we felt at Dreams Punta Cana (Sunscape) - the Dominican people are a lot happier & friendlier. Dreams Cabo was much more costly, and just not worth it when comparing the two resorts.

My husband and I stayed at Dreams from 4.19.08 to 4.26.08 for our honeymoon in room 3318 (junior suite) that overlooked the smaller "quiet" pool. Arrival in Cabo was a breeze, after getting through customs and baggage claim, you walk through the two rooms to the exit- we were never harassed by anyone inside the airport. We took a $60 cab (I think that was a rip off, but the guy wouldn't go down) to Dreams (30 minute ride) and checked in around noon (check in literally took 10 minutes and no one bothered us EVER about sitting in on a time share presentation). Our room was not ready yet, so we left our baggage with the bell boys, changed into swim suits and headed for the pool and bars. We laid around the pools and explored for a few hours before checking back at the front desk at 2 and our room was ready. Our luggage was brought up, we unpacked a bit, then headed back out to the pools.

My husband and I have traveled a lot to mexico and have done our fair share of all inclusives and we must say that the grounds, room, food and drink were all amazing. Our room was beautifully decorated and updated, all with new tile and a four poster king size bed. There was a mini fridge in the room which was convenient-it was stocked everyday. They also provided robes and slippers, and decorated our room with flower petals and candles the first night we arrived. We never had problems getting chairs around the small quiet pool or the big pool, nor did we ever have to wait to get into any of the restaurants. Towel huts are located next to each pool. They have a store that sells postcards, suntan lotion, cigars, etc. Internet was $7 for 30 minutes.

We had breakfast every morning at El Patio (great view of the ocean and the gazebo area) Our favorites at breakfast included : mimosas, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, choice of juices and fruit, pastries, the yogurt selection, omelet and waffle bar, and the other typical mexican breakfast foods such as beans (refried and black), and chicken and beef options.

We ate dinner at every restarant, 3 times at the Sea Side grill where we tried the beef tenderloin with bearnaise(my very, very favorite to eat anywhere-make sure you order your steaks a step or two rarer, they tend to cook steak more than in the US ), red snapper, rib eye, cheese cake, brownies, apple stroudel(another favorite). At Oceana (adults only) we enjoyed the tuna steak, shrimp egg roll, scallops, steak and shrimp, catalan cream, and chocolate mousse. At Portofino (Italian) we tried the mushroom and beef pasta, ocean mix pasta, shrimp and alfredo pasta(another one of my favories here), caprese salad, the calamares, and the white chocolate mousse. At Himitsu we had the tuna roll, shrimp tempura, egg roll and spring roll, peanut sauce chicken satays and pad thai. Wine was decent and they were always ready to fill our glass again and again.

They've also got a great beach bar called Barracuda which was fun to sit at and enjoy the sunsets at after dinner. Palapas and more chairs and hammocks are down on the beach. Obviously no swimming in the ocean at this resort, but the waves are so cool to watch-the waves crash so hard it sounds like thunder. While we were there, 2 weddings were performed (one on the beach, one in the gazebo). It looked like all of those guests had an amazing time, this is a georgous venue, and had we not been married in the US, me would have gotten married here!

For us our days consisted of laying out and reading by the small quiet pool and drinking and eating as much as we pleased. Food is ordered off of the menu and delivered to your chair at the small pool from the Oceana restaurant area/bar. We made sure to order a variety of items, we tried the shrimp burrito, chicken fingers and fries(fabulous), shrimp and avacado salad (one of my absolute FAVORITES), and nachos. Otherwise you can grab what you like from the buffet at the Sea Side Grill by the big pool and bring it over yourself( you must try the guacamole and chips from the Sea Side, it's the BEST, we also tried the other buffet items and the shrimp quesadillas).

We had our fair share of the wine, beer (corono or negro modelo), margaritas (regular and mango), pina coladas and mixed drinks. We can't complain about any of the food or drinks we ordered, it was all fresh and made to order(and if you don't think there's enough liquor in your drink, just ask for more). All in all, we loved everything about the resort, the grounds were maticulously cared for, the waiters were always pleasant, and our room was very clean (we tipped a few dollars everyday).

We didn't participate in much of the entertainment nights, but we did have fun playing Wii on the big screen and dancing to the live band on the beach one night. There were also other movies that were played on the big screen, a magic show night, latin dance show night, gambeling, and pirate night. A couple nights they had vendors set up shop near El Patio to sell goods.
Check out and leaving the resort was easy too. Taxis were waiting to take us to the airport, it was $35/40 to get back.

The only complaints we have are in regards to other travelers that seemed to never have been to a resort before. Here are a few pointers for my fellow travelers so that everyone can have an enjoyable time: first, there were a TON of babies and kids at this resort, not really sure if it was the week we picked or what, but it was ridiculous the amount of crying, running, screaming, splashing and complete disregard the children AND parents displayed towards other guests. This resort is meant to provide peace and relaxation, and for those of you who go on a "family" vacation to this resort with your kids, please realize that it is not a vacation from parenting and discipline. We saw kids running all around the pools (since when is running around a pool EVER safe or allowed?), swinging uncontrollably in the hammocks, using spot lights as digging toys in the sand around the pools, screaming, talking rudely to the workers, and most horridly, a couple brought their 6 month old baby into the pool WITH OUT A DIAPER OR BATHING SUIT ON (people, this is not a lake, or the ocean, or your own private pool, it is a public pool and that is disgusting! No one wants to swim around in your kids urine or worse. Please keep your children appropriately diapered, dressed, AND behaved-if you have questions about such rules, just consult the pool rule board that states "bathing suits are required at all times"-regardless of age!) If you want to let your kids act like maniacs or swim naked, take them to Disney World like everyone else, and not this type of resort. And secondly, please refrain from playing your music for the entire world. There were numerous occasions when people would play their ipods or radios on speakers. The sound carries so badly around the pools and it's very tough to read and nap while having some horrible country or phil collins song blasting in your ears-use head phones like everyone else!
