To begin, I have alot of Mexico/Caribbean all inclusive experience. I have worked in the travel Industry in many capacities for 20+ years. This is what you need to know about Dreams Los Cabos..... This property has the best staff I have ever encountered without question. We were a group of 27, ranging in age from 4 to 68. The staff are so honest and concientous:
Some examples:
Day 2- We are dining at El Patio with our group. The waiter summons a member of our group. They have not closed the room safe properly before they left for dinner, the maid came to do the "turn down service" , and discovered the safe open with money, jewelry, ipods etc and immediately called security for an
inventory check.
The kids/husbands often left things behind in public areas, i.e flip flops, deck shoes, pool toys, shirts, books , etc.
All items were returned, paper work completed, and bagged securely until such time they could be retrieved by the owner. With 12 kids under 12 in our group there were a few injuries, bloody noses, cuts, sharing gripes etc. The staff was there with first aid, gentle words, humour, patience, ice cream cones and made it clear that kids are enjoyed and valued.
The resort is small , trips back to the room to retrieve items do not involve a big hike. The rooms are amazing, we had a 1 bedroom suite that was so roomy and comfortable that I feel I need another week to really appreciate it. The restaurants are great. Good selection/all inclusive cuisine without the stressful feeding frenzy vibe we've experience at the other resorts. The layout of the buffets were well designed, no congestion. The food varied and good quality/no Illness in our group of 27. No reservations needed at the speciality restaurants. Italian is so-so, but not awful as previously reported , Japanese is all asian cuisine with excellent sushi, including a sushi bar and sake. You can get curries, and thai food there as well. The Oceana is awesome.. lunch and dinner there is perfect for romantic couples time. The only real negatives about the food is the cheese on the nachos (horrific) and they do not always cook the burger meat thoroughly. I will be contacting the resort on these issues.
The entertainment is decent. The Las Vegas show a little too
risque for some members of our group, the Wii tournament and Mexican Night were loved by all. The Kids Club activities and staff
were amazing. The beach is beautiful but not swimmable. Kids beach Bungy.. great. Spa/gym facilities..top notch .
For those with really young children the main pool is 5ft deep so please bring life jackets as there is no little kid pool.
You will see alot of whales and dolphins,,,bring warm clothes for early mornings and evenings. The resort needs to get green with the water issue, lots of plastic water bottles. Alcoholic drinks are watered down, but tasty and varied. (-Changita- perfect first drink of the day- contains pureed mango/banana/rum) The red and white wines are of decent quality and the champagne is french. Exceptional staff are Pedro/ Elsa (pool service). Argens (swim up bar) Bertha (maid) Kids club (Jennie)
Enjoy your visit to Dreams. We certainly did.
