We just returned from a week at Dreams Los Cabos - (January 12 - January 19). Before we left we had read some very negative reviews about the resort and needless to say we were quite concerned about our stay there. This feeling melted away upon arrival to the resort. Never having stayed at an all-inclusive resort before gives me little to compare this with. However, I don't really feel that I need to qualify my experience by comparing it to others.

The resort was beautiful! Our room was spacious, in good repair and very clean. Our daily maid service by Maria was timely, consistant, clean and ordered. The grounds were lovely and well maintained. We were always impressed by the numerous staff members that were sweeping and primping the entire area.

As for the service..... we were very impressed. The entire staff seemed to be on the ball. We had exceptional service from Pablo, Joaquin and so many others. I feel remiss in not including all of their names as they all deserve to be recognised. We ate at all the restaurants and some were better than others, however, overall the food ranged from average to excellent with the only exception being the food from the room service menu - it was marginal. However, room service was very prompt and very courteous. Poolside service was also excellent as the servers seemed to anticipate when you needed a beverage.

All the activities that the resort offered that we participated in were fun and the entertainment was great! What stands out most in my mind was the attention of the staff and how much they cared. Every staff member that I had dealings with were professional, fun, warm and very kind. I truly felt sad leaving this place.

I am not sure how there can be such mixed reviews when our experience was so excellent. Perhaps these types of reviews come from the same people that we saw treating the staff discourteously, disrespectfully and in some cases rudely. Yes I was there to "be looked after" but I felt a responsibility to be kind, respectful and grateful to be in their care and country in return. It was troubling to see many others not doing the same.

If you are going in the next month or so, I strongly recommend that you bring a light jacket and pants for the evenings as it was quite cool. Additionally if you want a quiet room, be sure to state that when making your reservations as some of the rooms look over the main pool area and gathering area. These areas can be somewhat loud at night. Overall we had an excellent time, our expectations were met, in many cases exceeded and I would go back in a heart beat!

  • Liked — The Staff that offered Exceptional Service!
  • Disliked — Not many indoor areas to spend time in when the evenings were cool

To say that our vacation at Dreams was a great dissapoinment is to say the least. Yes, the rooms were beautiful and spacious, but the ants crawling all over the kitchen counter were just the beginning of an awful trip.
The front desk was notified of the ant problem and his comment was "oh really?"
The food was absolutley unedible. We had hoped that by going to the Dreams Italian restaurant that we'd get a better meal than the lunch that we were served. No such luck. Our first night of dinner consisted of bread and water. The 2 choices we had picked were foul tasting. The waiter never offered to us any other options.
After the first night we left the hotel to eat dinner so that we could at least have one good meal a day. {we ate at Morgans and Mona Lisa]
We have never vacationed at an all inclusive resort in the 32 years we have been married and we are truly sorry that we had picked this place now.

We just returned from our week at Dreams, Let me start by saying the resort itself is absolutely beautiful. We arrived Sat. the 12th with a big group as it was our annual sales incentive business trip. Upon arrival it was a treat to be greeted with a cool towel and a cold drink. Check in went well as our room was ready upon arrival. After checking in it was down to the pool area, the main pool is beautiful and this is where most people congregate, as the adult pool looks to me as a dirter, (not blue water), and being on the east side of the resort the sun leaves the area pretty early in the day. Drinks are ok, they do however run out of the top shelf drinks often (absolute, jose, etc), and if you do not ask for extra liquor they are pretty weak. One thing I have to say is Pablo, and Moses in the main bar area, can make a mean spanish coffee, it is worth the show and a nice tip. Now the food issue: We had a group of 80 on the trip, apparently about 20 or so got sick. The temperture when we were there was colder, and the buffet food or anything outside was hard to keep warm, so I don't know if they got the bug that way or what. We were lucky enough to stay healthy. We ate at all the resteraunts on site and I have to say the Italian, and the Japanese were the best as they are both inside, also the El patio was excellent for breakfast. Oceana was a disappointment the my wife had scallops, and I had shrimp and it was terrible. We also had three organized meals out on the beach and these meals were also terrible and I believe it was because they could not keep anything warm. I believe that the resort should invest in something like thick plastic pull down tarps/shades that are clear so you can still take advantage of the ocean view, but it would block the wind, as everyday was windy, and with the colder temps, there were a lot of people in jackets and long pants through out the day. One other thing, do not be afraid to use the local buses (1.50 us to town one way) as the taxi cabs are a rip off. You must also buy your round trip shuttle ticket at the resort, cause if you only buy a one way, they will not bring you back. Lastly would I go back to this resort, honostly probably not. Why: too far from town, beach not swimmable, and I really was not impressed with the food.

  • Liked — Beautiful resort setting
  • Disliked — Food, and unswimmable beach.

We traveled with 5 couples for a week. The Hotel is very nice. The rooms are in very nice condition. Everything about our stay was wonderful. The food was not so great. Breakfast was buffet. if you got down to breakfast early around 7:30am things where hot. Dinner was not so good.. the only good thing I had was a Burger or a BLT ..Yes, the restaurants don't serve gourmet fair but there is always something edible available. Our room was on the bottom floor near the quite pool room 1112.. we really enjoyed it, Huge room. We also did the ATV tour mountain view tour it was a great time.

We went out to Edith's in Cabo , the food was fabulous. Expensive but worth every penny!! Where they make the Caesar salad in front of you and then serve you two lobster tails with mesquite smoked vegetables, baked potato and hand made tortillas. They also own the Office in Down Town Cabo which is excellent as well!

The Staff at Dreams is so very nice and accommodating.

I just returned from 5-day stay with my college age daughter.
We had a very nice time. The resort is lovely and very clean. The hotel staff was alway accomodating, with the room staff and beach staff being exceptional, one name in particular Daniel.
While reading the reviews I will comment that yes, the mattresses were "firm", however, a pad was delivered for the mattress immediately, along with the cervical pillow I was more than happy to find out was available. The food was good -- I particularly enjoyed the Asian restaurant. The only negative was the construction in progress. Our room was near the site, and the noise was deafening at times. Since we were there over the weekend, when construction stopped at 2 on Saturday, this wasn't a huge problem. This time of year, it does get chilly at night, so I wished I had packed more sweaters - and a sweatsuit for breakfast.
