My husband and I just returned from a relaxing week at the Fiestamericana Grand Los Cabos and were truly impressed with this resort. The staff members were gracious, accommodating and eager to please. Check-in was a breeze and we were pleased to learn that our prior request for a quiet room on a high-floor was accommodated. The hotel grounds are beautifully manicured and well-maintained. Our room was very clean with a spacious marble bathroom. The bed was comfortable with four pillows for the two of us. We had a nice balcony overlooking the Sea of Cortez and it appears that most rooms have this feature unless you are on a lower floor, in which case you have the balcony or a patio but not necessarily a sea view. Room service was prompt, hot and delicious. The pool side wait-staff are extremely attentive whether you want food or drinks. There are always lounge chairs available and four pool areas where you can lounge, as well as palapas along the beach. Interspersed throughout the pool areas are a number of jacuzzis, as well as two-person hammocks which add a really lovely touch to the relaxing vibe of this hotel. There is a cozy fire-pit overlooking the Sea of Cortez with nightly bonfires, entertainment, telescope and bar service –very nice touch. Rosato restaurant (upscale Italian) was delicious and breakfast was consistently good. Peninsula and Vina del Mar restaurants were also good with nice Mexican flavor. We had wonderful massages on the beach in a special tented area. Gym costs $10/pp for the day unless you have a massage/spa treatment, in which case it is free. Seems that others who have written about this hotel have had complaints about the cost of food/drinks, but this is to be expected at any resort of this kind. If this is an issue, book an all-inclusive resort or don’t stay here. Also, if you aren’t interested in the time-share pitch, firmly say so and you will not be bothered about it. We would absolutely return here again and had a wonderful time. Some general tips: rent a car or pre-arrange your airport transfers as you will be accosted by VERY aggressive cab/shuttle drivers at the airport. We arranged to have a private car transfer and it made things much more relaxing. Make sure you eat at The Office (on the beach in Cabo) and at Mi Casa. Pack some towels/drinks in a bag and take a water taxi (approx. $10-12/RT) to spend an afternoon on Lovers Beach – it is lovely.

My wife and I had an opportunity to travel with 3 other couples and stay for free at FALC last fall. It wasn't free for long, as we loved the resort and Cabo so much we bought a vacation club membership! The rooms were clean and nicely decorated with wonderful Pacific views, the resort grounds impeccable, and although the resort beach isn't the best for swimming/snorkeling, Bahia Maria is just a mile or so to the east, with a sheltered bay and loads of fish. Although the resort restaurants are expensive, the food quality was consistently good. Don't miss the resort Fiesta night! The buffet of authentic Mexican fare was both enormous and delicious, and included tequila tasting and an excellent Mariachi band. My stomach still pangs for the chiles rellenos, tamales and ceviche, they were amongst the best I've ever had anywhere. Tipping the staff, as always, provided for excellent service. Our group boated four large billfish on a charter, and the cobblestone streets of Cabo are a shopper's dream. And the nightlife! Cabo Wabo, The Giggling Marlin, el Squid Roe, and the Mango Deck were all excellent places to get loose (or lubricated!). If you plan on exploring the area I would advise renting a car (as we did - a minivan), as it will end up costing about the same as shuttles and cabs, while allowing you to get around and explore the peninsula on your own terms. I'd recommend the Fiesta Americana Los Cabos, and Cabo San Lucas, to anyone.

My wife and I and our 2 teenage daughters just spent 9 days at the FA from 4/9 through Easter week. We had 2 standard rooms which were very nice, well appointed and clean. Staying in the southern wing of the resort, (which I would characterize as the low rent area of the resort) we had very nice views of the sea of Cortez and the golf course greens. There was a bit of a walk to the pools and main building. The one and only irritating experience we encountered (which lasted the entire week) was the proliferation of small children. There were at least 3 children (1-10 yrs) for every adult at the resort. They would move about in swarms, running through restaurants, taking over the pool, screaming, squealing and yelling at all hours. On one occasion, My wife, who's a teacher, had to scold one group for running around our breakfast table, and a second group for splashing us poolside. This is a parenting issue, not a FA issue. I think Easter week had something to do with it. We made the best of it.Dining and drinking at the resort are expensive. Drinks are $7 each. The buffet breakfast for the 4 of us was $110. Dinner ran over $170. All before tips. The food, drink and wait service are excellent, however not a good value for the price. This resort is built into the desert cliffs overlooking the Sea of Cortez. The entrance and lobby are at a higher elevation (7 stories) than the pools and beach at sea level. The views from the lobby level, especially the lobby bar are spectacular. Don't bother booking a whale watching cruise. We saw several whales each day from the resort. Some of them breaching and making huge splashes. The beach is not suitable for swimming. It's loaded with large rock outcroppings and the surf crashes into them.We reserved a National car rental by internet weeks before we arrived. We paid $270 for a Sentra knock-off for 8 days. We lucked out since rates are higher if you rent on arrival. Also the Dollar rental on site at FA was out of cars. Driving into Cabo is very easy. We drove in 2 or 3 times a day for our meals and entertainment. You'll save tons of money and get great food and drink. Cabo is a blast.Make sure you drive the Dark Desert Highway. It's absolutely surreal. Check out The Office restaurant on the Land's End beach. Don't go when children are out of school, (unless you're vacationing from your parenting responsibilities and bringing 3 kids to run wild through the resort for a week).

We went at the end of Feb begining of March. It was a girls only trip. We left the husbands and kids at home. We wanted something that had great pools, good drinks and good food. We just wanted to relax and not do a lot. This was a great hotel for this. No, the beach wasn't swimmable, but that didn't bother us, because the pools were wonderful. We had a couple of chilly afternoons and the pools were wonderfully heated. The food was really good and we found it wasn't to unreasonably priced. (especially when you converted it to dollars) The staff was wonderful as well. Other than the fact that they didn't get us connecting rooms and that coffee from room service took 45 min one morning, we had a great stay at this hotel. Also, I was really nervous about getting bothered by all the time share stuff from previous reviews, but they didn't bother us at all. We talked about it later and figured that they knew we were 4 women without husbands so probably figured we wouldn't be making those kinds of decisions without them there. We all enjoyed this hotel immensly and hopefully will go there again soon!

I have high expectations, and this hotel fulfills it. I have been to this hotel/timeshare 4 times in the last 3 years, and the only reason I go back is... SERVICE, SOLITUTE, ROMATIC, and most importantly UPSCALE!#1 Don't take a cab, call the resort and they will pick you up for a very resonabable rate, and most likely you will have the entire air conditioned shuttle to yourself. 28.00 each way as of 3.01.04.#2 This place is romantic and quiet so bring someone you want to be close with ...it doesn't get much better then this.#3 Food is on the higher end and somewhat expensive, but be prepared, you can always take a shuttle into Cabo and have a Steak for 12.99 at Trailor Park.#4 You can snorkel off their beach and see more underwater life then you would to pay for a 50.00 Snorkel Cruise. The water can be rough at times and the hotel will post a flag to let you know the exisitng swimming threat.#5 I hope you like pools with waterfalls, you have many to choose from including hot tubs. Be sure to visit the FIREPIT at night with your sweetie to take in some romance, drinks, dinner, and live music.
