My husband and I just returned from a relaxing week at the Fiestamericana Grand Los Cabos and were truly impressed with this resort. The staff members were gracious, accommodating and eager to please. Check-in was a breeze and we were pleased to learn that our prior request for a quiet room on a high-floor was accommodated. The hotel grounds are beautifully manicured and well-maintained. Our room was very clean with a spacious marble bathroom. The bed was comfortable with four pillows for the two of us. We had a nice balcony overlooking the Sea of Cortez and it appears that most rooms have this feature unless you are on a lower floor, in which case you have the balcony or a patio but not necessarily a sea view. Room service was prompt, hot and delicious. The pool side wait-staff are extremely attentive whether you want food or drinks. There are always lounge chairs available and four pool areas where you can lounge, as well as palapas along the beach. Interspersed throughout the pool areas are a number of jacuzzis, as well as two-person hammocks which add a really lovely touch to the relaxing vibe of this hotel. There is a cozy fire-pit overlooking the Sea of Cortez with nightly bonfires, entertainment, telescope and bar service –very nice touch. Rosato restaurant (upscale Italian) was delicious and breakfast was consistently good. Peninsula and Vina del Mar restaurants were also good with nice Mexican flavor. We had wonderful massages on the beach in a special tented area. Gym costs $10/pp for the day unless you have a massage/spa treatment, in which case it is free. Seems that others who have written about this hotel have had complaints about the cost of food/drinks, but this is to be expected at any resort of this kind. If this is an issue, book an all-inclusive resort or don’t stay here. Also, if you aren’t interested in the time-share pitch, firmly say so and you will not be bothered about it. We would absolutely return here again and had a wonderful time. Some general tips: rent a car or pre-arrange your airport transfers as you will be accosted by VERY aggressive cab/shuttle drivers at the airport. We arranged to have a private car transfer and it made things much more relaxing. Make sure you eat at The Office (on the beach in Cabo) and at Mi Casa. Pack some towels/drinks in a bag and take a water taxi (approx. $10-12/RT) to spend an afternoon on Lovers Beach – it is lovely.
