From the get go, this place showed signs of being the wrong choice. The cabs from the airport are rediculous as they overstuffed 10 people and their luggage into a van. When arriving at the resort there was not a single valet offering to help my wife and I with 3 suitcases and 2 sets of golf clubs. They watched us drag them inside to check in and over to the "VIP" table, fighting our way through the numerous flies in the lobby. The one good thing is that we were upgraded to a suite in the grand club, which was very nice, as we were honeymooners. The valet though, which we finally got to help us to our room could not stop talking about the girls in the bikinis everywhere and how it was a real party scene and what not, in front of my wife, which was a pretty classless move.We were roped into sitting in a sales pitch for a timeshare by the VIP table with promises of a sunset cruise and atv'ing. I thought the cheesy sales people at the airport were bad, but didnt think that the resort we were staying at would do the same thing, call me stupid as we fell for it. They promissed a 45 minute breakfast, non-pushy pitch, which was way way understated as it was a 3 hour ordeal with numerous offers and counters to our objections. The sales guy said that we were his first appointment ever (which turned out to be conicidental, as 2 people we spoke to who did it as well had 2 different first time sales people). When we rebuffed everything he had, he brought in his "closer" who was an older woman who would not take "no" for an answer. Besides the annoyance of the proceedings the pitch was robbery as they wanted 25 grand down on the spot for a 40 year share. Skip the presentation no matter what they offerThe food at the resort is mediocre at best and overpriced. The pools were nice and the beach was nice, but the ocean is a bit too rough to swim in.Unfortunatly there was a convention going on when we got there, so many kids and what not.On the 5th day, my wife became suddenly ill. We went to the doctor at the resort, who was friendly enough, but had a pretty weak grasp of the English language. Not a problem as we are in a foreign country afterall. He was a nice enough guy and determined that my wife had appendicidice and arranged for an ambulance to take us to the "hospital" in San Jose Del Cabo, where she underwent surgery. I am thankful for him for the diagnosis and thank God she is fine. The only problem I have with this is that after the surgery I learned that there are 2 large hospitals in Cabo San Lucas, which is an equal distance if not closer town to the resort and he sent us to a 2 room clinic in San Jose. As it turns out, he was affiliated with the clinic as a partner and he was apt to make more money by sending us there rather than to a large hospital in Cabo San Lucas. The clinic did not have the neccessary technology for laser surgery, so she had to have it preformed the old fashinoned way, which added 3 weeks of discomfort to her recovery. We were also required to stay in Cabo an extra 3 days as per the doctors instructions. The resort was fully aware of the situation but didnt do anything to help out. The actually called our room and wanted to move us out of the suite to a differnt smaller room to make a profit on people arriving. It was only after they determined that the room that they wanted to move us to was not wheelchair accessable that they kept us in our original room. I know of other resorts that will give you a break on the rate in a situation like this and try to accomadate, but not one thing was done to help us out in any way at all. So much for service.Thankfully we had a week at a differnt resort in Mexico prior to this experience, but as far as the Fiesta Americana knew this was our entire honeymoon and they did not do a thing.Never again would I stay or recomend this resort.
