“Great Resort with Great Spa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

We are members of the Fiesta Americana Vacation Club and have been to this resort many times. We love the friendly, caring staff and the many pools and outdoor areas. The spa is first class with numerous offerings. It has a very Zen feel to it and has been renovated recently. After your treatment you are offered a glass or wine or tea and a couple of tasty morsels to nibble on.
The resort is built on a cliff so every room has mind blowing views. Golf carts take you from the lobby to your room and back again.

Room Tip: Rooms closer to the beach give you the sound of waves crashing. Rooms higher up give you more sweep...

We stayed at the Villas, particularly in one studio which I have to say was very small when compared to other studios I've stayed, such as Disney or Westin. However the view was great and the furniture was if not excelent, in a very good shape. Facilities were great, especially the restaurant by the pool (excellent!!!) and the Spa. The Resort is located at Cabo del Sol and has a Gold course on site (at Cabo del Sol). What I did not like was the beach, still you can lay down and take the sun with beatifull view.

I would definetely be back at this resort.

Room Tip: Stay the closer possible to the Resort when staying at the Villas.

traded my timeshare thru RCI for this hotel. they initially gave us room far from the water in a fairly remote part of the resort, but accommodated our request to move & put us directly on the water (albeit above the rocks)

Pros:
- well-maintained resort throughout
- staff is courteous & helpful
- rooms are good size with nice furnishing
- balcony offers great views
- clean to a decent standard & overall service level was
- not in Cabo, which is too busy & not all that nice, but close enough ($20 cab ride)

Cons:
- person arranging the taxi from the airport was incompetent ... you will need to call email 3-4 times & start chasing her from 2-3 weeks before arrival
- no A/C in the common areas & very low in the lobby ... there wasn't even an air-conditioned bar in the entire place
- resort if massive & if you are on the far end, it is literally a 15-20 minute
walk to the front (and its hilly)
- you have to pay for WiFi and its not available in remote parts of the resort & cellphone signal isn't available throughout

overall, quite a nice place & bargain for timeshare.

Only comment to travellers is to make sure you understand the room you are getting AND i would advise against going in August (its was like a vacation to the sun)

We stayed in phase I of the vacation club villas on the fourth floor. We have stayed here several times before and love the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks below our balcony. We have traveled extensively and find there are very few other resorts that you can enjoy the view and sound of the waves so close. We had a 2BR which was quite comfortable for 2 couples. We did have an issue with one of the 3 AC units but the staff was quick to make an adjustment which helped very much. At FA we spent most of our time at the villas pool which has a beautiful view and a dramatic infinite edge. We ate one dinner at the Peninsula restaurant and noted they have substantially improved the menu and added an Asian flare. The villa units have a good sized kitchen so we usually had breakfast and lunch in our room and went into town for dinner. We played both golf courses at Cabo del Sol which are outstanding. They are pricy but a little less so in the low season. The Palmilla golf course while only slightly less dramatic costs substantially less. We always rent a car when we are at FA as we like to sight and go into town for dinner. We really like FA.

My wife and I stayed at the Fiesta Americana Los Cabos in the Vacation Club portion of the resort. We booked it through our Hilton Grand Vacation Club membership of which the FAVC is affiliated.
We stayed the first week of October '12 and it was unseasonably hot/humid. It is located only about 10 minutes out of the town of Cabo San Lucas to the east along the corridor. It's quite secluded with only two other resorts close by and surrounded by a golf course and the sea.

Ok, let's get to the meat of it. The Good & Bad.

Check-in was fine followed by a golf cart that takes you to your unit. Like many seaside resorts in Cabo, it sits on a hill sloping down to the beach.

Upon entering the 5th floor two-bedroom unit, the first thing I noticed was the noise of the air conditioning and the refrigerators. With three air vents and two refrigerators going it was really humming and rattling in there. The furnishings were OK but worn and in need of replacement. The walls were mostly bare and needed more decoration. There was a leak under one of the bathroom sinks which needed to be attended to right away. One shower had low water water pressure. OK it sounds pretty bad right? Well, we opened up the drapes to the patio and low and behold we had a BEAUTIFUL view of the ocean and the resort.
For that reason alone we decided to stay put in that unit. To cut down the noise of the air conditioners, I just ran the air vent in the main room and that helped.

Full kitchen had small sink and only a two-burner electric stove. Had enough dishes for four people. Pots and pans were pretty worn out. There's bottled water and in-room coffee, all with price tags attached. No bueno.

We ate at two of the three restaurants on the resort. The Peninsula, and the "Something- Something Del Mar". We didn't particularly care for either one. The Del Mar was just average unremarkable food priced for something better. The Peninsula next to the beach served artsy food. Don't really like meals where the presentation is superior to the food itself. The bread they kept bringing filled us up though. It was good.

Once again, not so good right? As the days went by we hung at the various pools and on the beach. The resort itself is beautiful and the coastline there is awesome. With each passing day all this negative stuff just kinda drifted away as we got into the spirit of the Fiesta Americana.

Yes, there are a number of areas where FAVC can improve, but in the end we were happy and will return again. I am hopeful that Fiesta Americana will continue to improve their services and amenities and make it truly a 1st Class resort.

BTW, there's a Walmart and Costco not far from resort where you can stock up on food, water, and stuff. Also, Cabo has many great places to eat. Finding favorite places to eat and drink is a big part of why we enjoy Cabo.

That's about it, I hope this review will help some of you who are interested in Fiesta Americana.

Very nice hotel but wasn't all inclusive, so we figured that we'd go buy little snacks bc when u get hungry u don't always want to eat 4* meals. They through a fit about us bringing food to our room, a huge fit! Also, they don't let u have guests in "your" room!
On a different note, yes it was kinda far away from everything that u may want to do in town but we did enjoy how it was very secluded.

The resort was absolutely beautiful, and the staff were very helpful, but the food was just okay. For the price ($30 for breakfast!!), we expected much better food. Some of the food seems to be leftovers from previous meals.

The snorkeling off the beach was fantastic!! Fish everywhere!! We also snorkeled off of Santa Maria beach and Pelican Island, and neither were as nice as at the resort.

The resort is also a $20 cab ride into Cabo, which makes it nice and secluded, with a private beach, but it got a little pricey as we traveled into Cabo once or twice a day to enjoy the food/nightlife/beaches.
