we stayed at fiesta jan 9-14th. the accomodations were beautiful. Their main pool is an infinity pool overlooking the sea. There are plenty of comfortable seating areas, including hammocks and lounge chairs. They passed fruit around the pool in the morning and brownies in the afternoon. Nice touch. The business center has free computer usage with internet. They also have a complimentary beverage and snack station in there. Their breakfast buffet is outstanding. We ate dinner in town every night, so did not try the hotel dining rooms. We saw whales leaping out of the water on 3 occasions-awesome.Accorinding to the paper, Fiesta Americana is the best hotel for whale watching. Their shuttle is 10.00 round trip to go to town. For a nice relaxing place to stay i would highly recommend it.

Once again, we had a wonderful stay at FA. This was our 4th visit. We recently became Vacation Club Members and have not grown tired of our home away from home! There are many updates that are still in the process of being completed, however, the construction did not bother us. I had the opprotunity to experience the new spa. The facilities are beautiful! The 90 minute massage was great. The food continues to be expensive, but good. Looking forward to going back in May.

My girlfriend and I just returned from a week long stay at FA. I choose this hotel after an extensive search - I basically read every single review on the internet over the last two years (hey its a big investment, you might as well do it right). I booked at FA and was apprehensive after reading too many bad reviews, and expected a nice hotel with its drawbacks...

Boy we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. This resort is absolute paradise. The grounds, beach and pools are absolutely amazing. The rooms were very nice and comfortable even though not 5 star. The lunch restaurant Peninsula had great food, but service very slow during rush hour. Don't eat dinner at the hotel - the food is ok but there are waaayyyy too many great restuarants in town not to be missed (Nik San, Mi Casa, C, Pitihayas and Edith's just to name a few). The only drawback is the $40 round trip cab fare to town, but hey this is Cabo - if you are worried about paying cab fare, Cabo its not for you - I would try Cancun instead.

The staff is amazing - they are trained to be the nicest, most pleasant people around - even when obnoxious New Yorkers were yelling at them for no reason, the waitstaff would smile and grant their requests. (Drawback - lots of obnoxious New Yorkers). One day I asked a staff member raking the sand on the beach to help us with some beach chairs (wasn't his job). He stopped what he was doing and within 5 minutes was carrying huge bed chaise lounges down to the beach for us. That about sums it up.

Only drawbacks is there are a lot of kids running around the pool playing and being loud - not a drawback for families), and it is expensive to get back and forth from town.

Overall - You won't go wrong here. The people who ripped this hotel on this website are spoiled brats and wouldn't be happy at any hotel. They are just unhappy people....

From the minute we arrived we were treated with excellent and graceful service. We came stressed from our jobs and a late plane, but within hours of being at the Fiesta Americana in Cabo we had forgotten all of that. The colors, the architecture and the landscape arrangement all lend to a combination of beauty that makes this a truely comfortable setting. The guests here tend not to be the party types but are more content to soak in the rays and incredible sights, the gentle rush of the waves, generous number of pools and hot tubs and the abundent service. The food is not cheap, but it is served with style and by polite wait staff. Take advantage of the short timeshare presentation right away and get rewarded with many gifts like we did - Mexican buffet, snorkling trip, buffet breakfast and taxi service into town. The grounds are constantly being groomed and cleaned (sidewalks are swept and washed), but the staff is never in the way, but will always make you feel like the most important guest of the day. Bring lots of money for food or stock up with your favorites to cook for yourself in your kitchen - there is a Sam's, Wal-Mart, etc in town. We used the ice from the hotel's ice machines and did not get sick. The water may be OK to drink, but we used bottled water. The snorkling is very good right off the beach-free equipment during scheduled activity time or rental for $10/day at other times. Cooking classes, ping-pong tournements, survival Spanish are some of the other activities offered for free. We plan to go back again.

My family and I (my parents, husband, brother and sister-in-law) just returned from a week staying at Fiesta Americana and we were less than impressed. Let me begin by saying that we have been traveling throughout the world and that we have stayed in many different places of varying price. In fact, we have been to Cabo numerous times before and decided to stay at Fiesta Americana because the rooms were most affordable.

The day we arrived there, December 22, we were all tired and hungry. It was about 4:00 and we wandered down to find something to eat. When we got to the pool area (the only restaurant that was open to eat at during the day) we found that the main pool was under construction as was the restaurant (the restaurant was back in its usual place the next day). My sister-in-law is a vegetarian who doesn't eat shell-fish and there was literally NOTHING on the menu at all for her. Even the salads had meat.

When we got into our rooms, my husband I found that one of the robes in the closet had blood on it. Also, one of the pillow cases on the bed had mascara and lipstick on it. We called the front desk to tell them the situation and they told us they would contact housekeeping to take care of it. That night when we returned from dinner, there was a robe back in our closet and we thought nothing of it. The next day when we got back from the pool (main pool still under construction and there were very few seats at the other, smaller pools--all were gone by 9 when I went down for a chair) I pulled out the robe and low and behold, it was the same, robe, blood still on it. I called and asked to speak with a manager and was told it would be taken care of. Someone then called me back and said they were out of robes and assured me that a robe would be in my room the next morning.

Of course the next day, there was no robe and my husband went to complain. He returned with 2 brand-new robes which we were told to take home with us. He was also told the manager would contact him to discuss ways to make it up to us (no one ever called).

The main pool was functional the 4th day we were there (that would be Christmas Day) and we didn't understand why the construction wasn't completed before the holiday rush. By the way, the re-tiling they did was for no reason because the tiles continued to fall off throughout the week. The pool restaurant was always crowded and after 4 days, they changed the menu to offer more choices, undoubtedly after many complaints of the limiting menu.

The food at the breakfast buffet was cold most days which is weird because we were there as it opened most days at 7. The pool wait staff rarely walked around to offer drinks. Towels were often not left in our rooms after they were made up on numerous occasions and complimentary toiletries were not replaced (i.e. body soap and lotion). Floors not swept. Turn-down service was inconsistent. The internet in the business center was slow and often computers were not working which meant there was a long wait. On top of everything else, the bill we received was much more expensive then we were quoted (by over $200 USD).

On the bright side, there were some wonderful waiters and the valet desk did a wonderful job taking care of the two cars we had rented (a must in Cabo because the taxis are so expensive!) Our room did have a beautiful view and the bathroom was nice. The nice restaurant in the hotel, Rosato, was wonderful and had great food and wonderful service.

Over all, this hotel which is listed as a 4.5-5 star hotel doesn't deserve that high of a rating.
