If you have really high expectation for the hotel, you will be disappointed in many areas. But if you are just expecting between 3 to 4 stars, then this is the right place. After contemplating and changing reservations many times (Sheraton Hacienda $229, Marquis $290, Cabo Azul $239), my husband and I chose to stick with Fiesta at $189 with 25% discount on food/beverages and $100 spa credit.

First of all, spa was awesome! The facility is super modern and chic, and outdoor massage overlooking the ocean was beautiful.

Food was better than expected. I never expect too much from hotel food, but breakfast buffet, lunch at peninsula cafe overlooking the ocean, and pasta dinner was great and also good priced with 25% discount. The service was a bit slow, but hey, this is Mexico.

Pool was truly beautiful. From the sun, the water was very warm, and chairs were comfy. Although the hotel seemed to be pretty booked, we always found spots to rest and swim without feeling crowded at all.

The room was the low point. A/C wasn't working well, so it had to be fixed, toilet makes a lot of noise when flushing but doesn't do the job all the way, the coffee pot but no free coffee (it was 55 pesos per pot). We requested 1 king bed but was given 2 queen bed with great ocean view. TV didn't have the greatest reception and satellite kept failing. I had called in at 10am to request early check in, and was told i could check in after 11am. When I got to the hotel, I gave $20 (not pesos, but in dollars) tip to the front desk guy who helped me check in early, but he didn't do anything special for me....which i usually get from other hotels with such generous tip. Even though I left $3-5 tip on the bed each morning, the maid never refilled our bathroom amenities (we brought our own...but other hotels usually fill them up anyway)...

So overall, this was a great hotel for the price, but nothing too fancy like 5 star hotel.

Anytime I visit a new place I revert directly to TripAdvisor to help me with my planning. I always prepare thoroughly and read all reviews. But I've learned that I am usually easier to please than most reviewers so even if there are bad reviews, if there are equally good ones chances are I'll be fine. And this was no exception. This place is paradise. Beautiful grounds, excellent upkeep and wonderfully friendly staff. There were always employees manicuring bushes or cleaning something. I was so empressed. Our room was always cleaned and fresh smelling. Towels are restocked during the day...so a bit of warning...if you go back to rest or have a little "fun" with your mate don't forget to put the "Do not disturb" sign on the door. We had a close call, lol.
We stayed in a regular room with a king bed and it was really nice with the very tall ceilings. The bathroom was also nice with a tub and glass shower. The pools are beautiful but if you'd like a particular spot you'd better get down there early to get your chair! The beach chairs are like I've never seen with big comfy cusions!
The sand does hurt, it is definitely NOT Florida sand! Be careful if you go swimming it is very rocky but there are beautiful fish right there so bring your goggles! The only negatives about this place are that if you have a hard time walking or if your not in decent shape...whew...this place will be hard to get around. It is basically built on a mountain. The whole the is built on a slope so you are constantly climbing. Yes, wheelchairs are navigable, but you know, I didn't see any the whole time there! The prices are pretty steep. Pina Colodas are like $9 for a small cup...but they are AWESOME. I saw the employees get the coconuts off the tree and bring them behind the bar to make the drinks!!! A hamurger and fries will run you like $16. But again, delicious. You can tell they use THE BEST ingrediants in their recipes. Another downside is if you planned to go into Cabo San Lucas alot and don't have a car, it can get pricey coming and going. About $20 each way. Best bet would be to split a cab with people. Well, I think I've covered everything. If I missed anything feel free to ask me questions.

We are world travelers. This 5 star rating is just plain wrong. This place only wants you to buy a time share! The food is poor and way over-priced. Our kids wanted to play with a ball at the pool. The so called kids club was a joke. They told us you can play with a ball on Tuesday at 3:30, no activities are scheduled on Monday. That is just one example of why you are so lucky to have read this before thinking about going here. We spent most of our time at the Sheraton right next to the Fiesta Americana. There we found better ammenities, service and prices.

We booked a stay at the FA for six nights but after three we decided to move to the ME in downtown Cabo. We were in a one bedroom villa with full kitchen.

We weren't very happy being so far from the main resort and having to either walk or call for a golf cart to take us up. Felt very isolated which for some is good but for us, we like being closer to the main facilities. The villa had ants in the kitchen even though we had absolutely no food at all. We heard from others they had ants too so it looked like something you just have to deal with. The condo never seemed to cool down even though we had the A/C set to 53 degrees, again we heard that from others with the same issues.

The strangest thing is that the gym had no AC.....it was 95 degrees out.....a resort that calls itself a five star resort should have AC in most common areas and especially the gym/spa area. This place didn't have AC in a lot of areas where you would think a five star would.

The grounds were very nice....with several pools to choose from. The staff was very nice and the service was outstanding everywhere we went through out the property.

Beware if you are planning to stay there that a cab to Cabo costs $20US each way or $35 each way to San Jose. They did have a shuttle for $10 round trip to Cabo but it stopped at 9pm which I thought was way too early.

The hotel itself was very nice....I just wasn't a fan of the condo's. For me, FA was too far out from things but if you are looking for seclusion, this is the place for you.

We had a great stay at this resort we traded our HGVC time for this resort and loved it. The service here was fantastic from every person employed here. From the desk/reservationist to the concierge staff to the cleaning and lanscaping staff we were always greeted w/top notch service. We were only asked about timeshare once. but when we told them we were staying in the Club section they didn't bother us again. I believe they thoought we were already owners there.
When we arrived we were immediately greeted by Alberto who helped us w/ our luggage untill we checked in. Our room was not ready as we were early but the staff pre-checked us in and they held our luggage for us. When you arrive here w/ your own vehicle they valet it for you. At first my husband was skeptical about this but by the end of the week he was used to the great service and was happy to not have to worry about parking yourself. Also, if you are staying in the Club section you must be shuttled back and forth by golf cart. as it is some distance . Again, at first my husband was skeptical but by the end of the week we knew to call downstairs order up our car and golfcart and within a few minutes we were greeted by our front door w/ a smiling driver. We spent a total of $65.00 in tips. (for the car, glof cart, maid etc..) Not at all bad. a few $1, $2 tips go a long way here. But you absolutely should tip each time to ensure great service. We did and that is what we recieved in return. We noticed some Americans who never tipped a penny! (embarassing) everyone else did. This Hotel/timeshare seems to be a popular resort for Mexicans and Europeans. Not too many Americans. Actually after seeing the behavior of many Americans down by Medano beach, The FA was a welcoming retreat in the Corridor.

The room we had here was a beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bath, w/ a powder room villa on the top flr of the club section by the pool w/ 3 balconies w/ a full living room dining and kitchen. The furnishing were all very good and the quality of the tile work and woodwork were beautiful. Yes, some things were a little worn but also well maintained. As I stated I believe this is a very popular resort. We had 2 king size beds and and 2 large pullouts 1 in the living rm and 1 in the adjoining guestroom. in that room there was also a mini bar area w/a sink. There were 20 ft cielings in this room w/ fans and also in the living rm/dining rm. Made the rooms feel enormous. I'm not sure of the sqr ft but the whole place was very, very large. In fact larger than HGVC or Marriott timeshare resorts. The beds were very comfortable. My only disapointment ( if you can call it that) was the kitchen was in need of newer appliances and granite countertops. Everywhere in the villa had beautiful travertine tile and granite counters don't know why they had wood and formica in the kitchen?
The whole resort is beautiful w/ tropical landscaping and ocean views. I believe 5 pools total. The pool bars/ retaurants are a little higher in price than a HGVC or Marriott resort. But very much like a JW Marriott class and prices. The food and drinks there BTW were very good we had burgers (gourmet) Club sandwhiches and smoothies (good stuff). We also tried the massages by the beach. Very nice experience, very professional.
We would go back to this resort in a heartbeat and are planning for next yr! Our overall experienxce here was very positive, We never saw one bug or felt the hotel was at all "cheesy" as stated on another review. don't believe those reviews. Thank you FA for a great week!
