If you have really high expectation for the hotel, you will be disappointed in many areas. But if you are just expecting between 3 to 4 stars, then this is the right place. After contemplating and changing reservations many times (Sheraton Hacienda $229, Marquis $290, Cabo Azul $239), my husband and I chose to stick with Fiesta at $189 with 25% discount on food/beverages and $100 spa credit.
First of all, spa was awesome! The facility is super modern and chic, and outdoor massage overlooking the ocean was beautiful.
Food was better than expected. I never expect too much from hotel food, but breakfast buffet, lunch at peninsula cafe overlooking the ocean, and pasta dinner was great and also good priced with 25% discount. The service was a bit slow, but hey, this is Mexico.
Pool was truly beautiful. From the sun, the water was very warm, and chairs were comfy. Although the hotel seemed to be pretty booked, we always found spots to rest and swim without feeling crowded at all.
The room was the low point. A/C wasn't working well, so it had to be fixed, toilet makes a lot of noise when flushing but doesn't do the job all the way, the coffee pot but no free coffee (it was 55 pesos per pot). We requested 1 king bed but was given 2 queen bed with great ocean view. TV didn't have the greatest reception and satellite kept failing. I had called in at 10am to request early check in, and was told i could check in after 11am. When I got to the hotel, I gave $20 (not pesos, but in dollars) tip to the front desk guy who helped me check in early, but he didn't do anything special for me....which i usually get from other hotels with such generous tip. Even though I left $3-5 tip on the bed each morning, the maid never refilled our bathroom amenities (we brought our own...but other hotels usually fill them up anyway)...
So overall, this was a great hotel for the price, but nothing too fancy like 5 star hotel.
