My adult daughter and I spent five days at the hotel in the third week of June 2004. Our first night was spent in a large, clean room which overlooked the entrance of the hotel, and little else. We asked for a room change to the “E” section and were delighted to have a huge view of the harbor. I think the harbor view is even better than looking at the blank blue Pacific Ocean as there were few ships going by, so there was really nothing to “see”. The walk from the hotel into town was strenuous but not impossible, and we felt it was healthy for us. As the street is cobblestone, though, good shoes are needed. The hotel food was very good and not so terribly expensive, as most of the restaurants in town were charging “tourist prices” anyway. We booked our entire trip through Apple Tours and were most pleased with their services, which included arranging transportation to and from the distant airport.

La espousa and I just returned from 6 nights at Hotel Finisterra. We had a wonderful stay. Our room was in the "old" section on the cliff but close to the bar and great restuarant. The pool was fabulous. We love to be near the ocean but not necessarily in the ocean. The pool closest to the beach was great because of the big surf. Not a swimming beach but great for walks. It was a bit windy a couple of days but all in all a great place if you want to relax without being hassled. The staff was great. David at the front desk helped us with a great rate and Alovar gave us a tour of the rooms we could stay in. It is on a hill from the street but a free shuttle takes you down to the street. The only thing I did not like about Cabo and similar in other Mexican destinations is the pricing of everything in American dollars. If you want to pay in peso's you can but they will use the exchange rate against you. Your buying power stays at home. La Casa was a great traditional restuarant just up the street. The OFFICE is a great beach bar. Not crazy about the restaurant hawking at the marina. Bring a sweatshirt and jeans for nights...it gets cold in the desert

The Finisterra is absolutly fantastic in everyway.

Close to town yet secluded and private.

The rooms are great in both the old and new section. Well maintained and spotless. The pools are great...All of them.

My now fiance and I went on our first vacation together in August 2002. We were advised to stay at the Finisterra by our Travel Agent. Here is what is true: the staff at the pools are wonderful!!! My fiance loves Mangos, and on one occasion the staff man at the bar offered to bring some fresh Mangos from his familys home. As it turned out, he came through. To go above and beyond like that is flat out rare! It was a genuinely nice thing to do. True: When you are there, ask at the pool for Moses! He's a really cool guy who works there and can provide many good laughs!
True: Stay in the new area. We were bumped up to the top floor suite which had a doublewide balcony accessible by two areas. A manager by the name of Roberto was very sincere in accomodating us after a brief incounter with an uncleaned room. I can't say enough about him. He was compassionate and knew that empathy and sincerity go along way.
True: We tipped everyone very well. Our experience with staff (the only exception is when you check in this lady sits you down and gives a speal about timeshares, etc...tell her flat out NO!) was very positive.
True: Lobster...Lobster...Lobster!!! FABULOUS!!!! Take a stroll accross the Marina and eat at Margaritavilla. AWESOME!!!!
True: The Blue Hawaian Drinks at the pool are rediculously good. Also, we encountered no rude guests.

WE had a very romantic trip there, and we found the hotel to be a positive experience. We will return at some point soon we hope.

My husband and I just returned from Cabo San Lucas where we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. If you want to stay at a place that is within walking distance to downtown, This is it. The hotel is Beautiful. The whale watcher bar sits in the older part of the Hotel as does the Blue Marlin Resturant. Talk about a beautiful view of the ocean. The newer area that has been built is nice. It overlooks the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez. Our room was located on the other side of the Hotel in the older section. Our balcony overlook the Marina and the boardwalk. Every morning we had a beautiful sunrise. If you stay at the hotel, try and get your room in the "E" section. This is the area that overlooks the Marina. At first I was dissapointed that we were not in the newer section. But once I saw my view of the marina. I was excited. There was never a dull moment watching the boats come and go. We are already talking about going back to Cabo. And when we do, We WILL be staying at the Hotel Finisterra.
