My husband, along with another couple, stayed at Hotel Finisterra from 1/5/2008 to 1/12/2008 and couldn't have been more pleased. None of us had ever been to Cabo San Lucas before so booking a hotel was kind of a stab in the dark. We did the basic research on TripAdvisor and the Finisterra was highly rated so we knew it had to be a decent hotel. Let me tell you future travelers, this hotel exceeded our expectations! The location was prime. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable, the rooms were clean (we stayed in the Palapa Beach Club part of the hotel and had the perfect view of the spectacular pool and ocean, room #509). Also, the Whale Watcher Bar at the hotel was awesome! We sat outside for breakfast several mornings and got to see whales swimming out there and doing backflips! It was awesome! The private beach was both beautiful and peaceful. There's no swimming at that beach though because the water is much too rough and dangerous. The location of Finisterra was perfect as it was a walkable distance to the marina and town. All in all, if we travel to Cabo again, we will definitely stay at the Hotel Finisterra again!

Just got back on the 13th & despite some negative reviews I had a great stay. We usually do all-inclusive so I was a bit worried on how over-priced the hotel might be, but it wasn't at all. I had a great dinner and did order the steak. It was medium-rare just as I had asked, & the glaze was amazing. The location was great, just a short walk to the marina. The staff was very helpful. They were right there whenever I wanted a drink at the pool, which was also warm & very clean by the way. I didn't hear any construction & was there on 2 weekdays when it supposedly started going. I would stay again without a doubt.

We liked Hotel Finisterra for it's location, pools, service and comfort. My impression is there has been a real attempt to improve service, because they were anxious to please on check-in and at the bar. We had no problems with service and felt that we were treated well. The location is perfect -- walking distance to the marina so we could get out at night, but a more private beach since the hotel is on the Pacific side. Whale watching was impressive from the bar because we arrived during the season, from Jan thru March. The pools are nice -- kept clean, beautifully styled, and regular bar service. During happy hour you should order half because they will automatically give you two times what you ordered (for the 2 for 1 deal). We did not have a problem with that.... The room was comfortable and quiet, though we did get lucky by getting a room on the third floor close to the Playa Grande Hotel and far from the ongoing construction. As a result we were not bothered by construction noise, but that looks like it should be finishing soon.

My wife and I just spent a great time at the Finisterra and loved the place. We had a great room (Palapa Ocean View) where we were able to watch whales in a distance just having a ball. the pool bar staff are great; but wish they had a better selection of cigars. They have a great happy hour at the pool and make really strong drinks.

We are looking at our calendars to see when we can make it back. The only complaint I have is the one dinner we decided to have in the hotel was a disaster (the Blue Marlin restaurant). When I travleI I normally do not eat my dinners in the hotel restaurant but we were really tired and decided to make an exception since we heard it was a really good restaurant.

We order both ordered the porterhouse steaks and well, the steaks were not what we in America would call porterhouse they were more like t-bone steaks and while my wife and I both asked for our steaks to be done medium, my wife steak came overcooked and while my steak was one of the toughest steaks I had ever had in a restaurant my wife's steak was twice as tough. They offered us another steak but we were done at that point and they did not reduce the bill any either.

Do not order the steak, if you eat in the restaurant, I think you will be so disappointed...stick to the seafood. I will not let that experience stop me from going back to the Finisterra.

I love the location and they were completely understanding when we told them we were not interested in hearing their time share speech it was never mentioned again after the first day.

My daughter had her wedding at this hotel. Very accommodating and personble. Could not ask for more. Wedding was fabulous and the staff was very attentive to all the wedding guests needs. Only draw back was construction on going on the west side of property. Short walk into town and Marina. Great food at the hotel Blue Marlin restuarant. Make sure your rooms are on the 5th and above floors great view of the ocean. If you are planning a wedding please check this hotel out great Staff. Ceremony was on the beach and very private!
