I just got back from a family trip to Cabo Villas. Upon arrival I was terribly disappointed with the pool. It was a small pool just a little smaller than my home pool. Of course you don't go to Mexico and stay 100 yrds from the beach to lay by the pool. If that is why you went to cabo then find the resort with the largest pool. The beach was literally right there. There was a beach side bar, a pool side bar, and a wonderful rooftop grill at the resort. It was quiet there and we had no problem with noise or kids. I did see a lot of sales persons walking around giving presentations but you don't have to do them if you don't want and I've stayed at other places and it is bad everywhere. the beach vendors are of course out but once again, where are they not? I've read many of the reviews and hear about the lies and scams, but did not experience any of the myself. Of course a resort trying to sell themselves is going to show you the best of the best, but if you are trying to sell something you don't tell the prospective buyer all the downsides. We stayed on the 3rd floor and didn't have the absolute best view but the view was spectacular nonetheless. I will say one thing, the staff....ABSOLUTELY AMAZING...Gorge, Christian, and others all treatus us like a million bucks. They were there with drinks and conversation as well as recommendations. They learned our first names and called us by it the entire trip. The food was reasonable at the resort as well. They were in the middle of a huge expansion project that looks to be a huge improvement including 2 very large pools. I would have liked to have seen them completed. the town and mall are just down the hill and there is no need to pay a cab fare. If you want though the price by cab is $6 which is very reasonable indeed. The resort has their own fishing boat and we went on a trip and landed a beautiful marlin. We mingled with some of the owners and they were pleasant and as another review says, Minnesotan, so of course, Minnesota nice. Maybe we just had a unique experience, but we didn't expect the Ritz for the price we were paying. For what we paid we got more than our money's worth. the beachfront grills were all right there including The Office and Edith's. All 4 star places to eat. I would recommend this to anyone looking to stay at a normal "hotel" style resort with the intent of spending time OUTSIDE of their room, after all you are in one of the most beautiful places, get out and see it.
