“A neighborhood gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

Do not be put off by the first impression of In Vita. It is a neighborhood gem and well worth an evening's meal or two while visiting Cabo. We have been coming to Cabo since the mid 80s and are always looking for new restaurants to try. This one is a stand out. Food all extremely fresh, prepared to order and service to match the food. The host/owner was very engaging and went out of his way to see that we were pleased with our meals. By the way, drinks were also prepared very well.

Do give it a try on your next visit.

“Great Addition to Cabo (with gluten-free pastas!)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

Invita Bistro is, without a doubt, the greatest addition to Cabo San Lucas eateries. With the prices being so reasonable and the vast variety of fresh, healthy Mediterranean food on the menu, it's guaranteed guilt-free dining.
The selection of tapas has everything from fish, shrimp, and scallops to vegetarian items such as cheesy rice balls, potato omelette, and vegetable souffle. (Since they are all GREAT, you can get a sampler of 5 tapas starting at 240 pesos.) There are six salads from which to choose ranging from Mediterranean (with caramelized pecans and goat cheese) to the mixed salad (with heart of palms, olives, and carrots). While there are two sizes, a small salad could be a meal in itself or shared between 2 people who are also going to order a main course.
The pastas range from 90 to 280 pesos, with the average price being less than 150 pesos. Amazing doesn't begin to describe each of the pastas!!! I was very excited to see that I could order any pasta (except the lasagna) GLUTEN-FREE!!!
For those of you who would rather experience another side of the Mediterranean cuisine, there are shrimp kebabs, beef medallions, scallops, and chicken breast (lightly breaded with lime juice or Cordon Blue) all served with perfectly-steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes.
After enjoying an unforgettable meal, don't forget dessert. Choose from Tiramisu, Cannoli de la Nonna, or Creme Bule (the only gluten-free dessert, but who cares? It's A-MAZ-ING!!!!).
The ambiance is classy, yet comfortable. Kid-friendly (What kid doesn't enjoy homemade rolls and focaccia or pasta??), but obviously the restaurant is geared more towards the adult population. The downtown location provides a great view of the town square (even more beautiful during the holiday season). There is outdoor seating with tables for 2, but if your larger group would like to sit outside, the staff will be more than happy to arrange the tables, European style, so you can enjoy the view. Invita is a bistro, and it fills up quickly, so if you are planning to go, I recommend making reservations for groups of 6 or more.
Congratulations Joaquin, Stefano, Antonello, and your staff!

“Another good Italien in Cabo San Lucas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

A very nice, stylishly decorated restaurant. The food is good and authentic Italian. The staff also does a good job. And there is still potential there to be even better.

“Overated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

Our concierge recommended this restaurant yet it unfortunately yielded a less than perfect score. Perhaps it was an off nite, but the service was poor with only one waiter trying to wait on the entire restaurant. The salads were surely as described in other reviews -- healthy portions and flavorful. The pasta dishes we ordered were at best fair and the evening special -- mahi mahi with scallops was poor. The scallops were not cooked and were extremely tough, although the mahi mahi was well prepared. The creme brulee dessert was nothing special which only added to the mixed experience. In short, don't expect the 5 stars you see in other reviews here and then you won't be disappointed.

“Who would think?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

A "mediterranean style" Mexican restaurant? Excellent food, great service, a real treat. A little name dropping done- "Nescaffe is George Clooney's favorite coffee" on the menu. But the food is good enough that you can see George coming back regularly.
