Stayed in a studio at Playa Grande the week of July 15th. The resort is very nice and the people there are really friendly, but there were some problems. I had read that there were not enough chairs around the pool, but never imagined it would be an issue in the off season (july). It was, which became very frustrating. Since the beach is not swimmable, the resort does not have chairs or palapas on the beach either, so there was no place to turn. Also, after being at the pool the 1st morning, we left our towels on our chairs when we went in for lunch. Upon our return, on of them was gone. I had read about a theft problem there, so I guess that is an issue.

As with most of the resorts in Mexico, the beds were INCREDIBLY hard as were the pillows. Interesting, we moved for our second week to the smaller sister resort next store and the beds and pillows were very comfy and soft. You would think the newer, nicer, more expensive resort would have the better beds and linens, but this time that was not the case.

The resort itself is very beautiful, the rooms are very nice (except the beds), the staff was excellent. If you like mega resorts, this is a really good one, especially if they can get these other issues resolved.

Before arriving to La Playa I read some of the reviews posted and was very wary of the management, time share presenters, and lounge chair availability. As a result I spent the most relaxing week of the summer at the La Playa Grande.

We arrived at La Playa Grande and were welcomed by smiling bellboys who were ready to help us in what ever way they could. They took us to our room and unloaded our bags. Our room was beautiful, everything I could have expected and more. After unpacking we met a couple and shared a taxi to COSCO. For the rest of the trip we relaxed by the pools, drank margaritas and enjoyed the activities the resort had to offer.

Here are a few tips that I think will help you to have as good of a week as I had: Be ready for pushy, boarder line rude, Time Share Reps., put your towels out by the pool early, take part in as many of the pool volleyball games as possible, do your shopping at COSCO, go to the Office for breakfast, and wear lots and lots of sunscreen.

I have just returned from Playa Grande today. My husband and I stayed for 7 days in a one bedroom unit. It is beautiful and the cleanest resort I've stayed in. The room and views were beautiful. I will return to Playa Grande when I return to Mexico.

We won this trip at a school raffle (parents' timeshare) and were not sure what to expect. We were more than pleased with the staff, pools, restaurants, room and with Cabo in general.

Concierge was very helpful in getting us a rental car for the day, setting up excursions and giving us very helpful advice and restaurants and points of interest.

We went to the timeshare breakfast and while there was some pressure, we said no and they politely accepted our answer. We received a discount coupon for an excursion and happily used it to go on quads the next day.

Rooms are awesome. Two full bathrooms is very helpful. Beds are a bit too hard (though the new section, "The Ridge" has very soft new mattresses). We loved having a full kitchen with utensils, plates, pots, glassware, etc.! We had an ant problem on our deck and called housekeeping. They promptly came up and sprayed--leaving us the spray can in case the ants returned.

Pools are nice, clean and we saw at least 3 of them. Pool food/drink service was prompt--even during happy hour!

Overall, great experience.
