“Tremendous Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

First and foremost, Viridiana is exceptional in her role at Kid's club. We adore her! My kids LOVE going to Kid's club. What a treat for parents to have the trust in her, and this feature, in order for us to have some free time!

Secondly, Roberto was OUTSTANDING at the beach party. Playa Grande is extremely lucky to have such talent for the entertainment. We had a terrific night! Hang on to him because I believe he's going places!

Hector was super fun for the entertainment around the pool. I really enjoyed the trivia games and aqua aerobics! He was a great motivator and you are lucky to have him as well.

Room Tip: If you have more than 4 people, get a two bedroom for sure.

Playa Grande has multiple big pools, great beach, and nice rooms. Also has a roof top pool that over looks both the city of Cabo and the ocean. Our family has owned a time share at Playa grande for a few years.

This hotel was an excellent place for couples. Could not swim at the beach but hike to swim-able beach was only 30 mins. We had a good time and the food was amazing, but kind of on the expensive side. Very close to downtown and amenities. Rooms were big and clean. The entertainment staff was exceptionable and we would recommend going to the shows in the evening. Overall great experience and would recommend to couples/family's.

We stayed at the Playa Grande Resort March 16th - 22th. This is a 5 star resort in every way. We were celebrating our anniversary and my birthday and was fortunately to be put in a beautiful ocean view studio room. The studio room had plenty of room. The only thing lacking was a full size kitchen. We were not planning on doing any cooking. We did the all inclusive. The only complaint I have is that the portions were toooo big. Now I have to loose 10 lbs. The food was excelent. We really enjoyed theme night. We only saw 1 whale from our balcony on the first day. That was a little disappointing. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. The location was very close to downtown. If you didn't want to walk you could catch the city bus for $1.00. The time share presentation was not pressured as I read on many reviews. Avoid the sharks at the airport. They will lie to you to get your attention.

Room Tip: 2601- studio room - facing the ocean!!!!

Once again I write to tell a brief review of this wonderful property.
This is my 4 th stay here and it seems to be consistant on all realms. Upon entering you are welcomed by bell staff and then check in. I prefer and asked to be moved from the lower part of resort to The Ridge only because in past stays, I find laying towels out at 7 in morning to get a lounger by a pool is not my version of a stress free vacation. At the Ridge you are more private, secluded and way less people. Private swim up bar and just an over all more relaxing enviornment. Service is fast, and perfect. Miguel( outstanding) was our breakfast server each morning, overlooking the infinity pool that looks like it is falling into the ocean. The down side is , it is quite a walk to get there, but to me, it is well worth it.
Because of past stays, I was prepared to say no when after check in, as youare whisked off to get your info packet and towel cards. Actually to the first timer, this is nothing more than an opportunity to sell you a time share. Saying you get a " free welcome breakfast", but to the novice ... It is an hour timeshare presentation. If thats what one wants.. Go for it... But their tactic is very smooth , but of course I was not again going to buy here, hence refused three times.
Get your towel card paper, dont lose the paper or towels or you will be charged. Not a big deal but just a heads up. New towels, no more orange towels!!! Thank you for that Playa Grande!! Also for the free drink cards:-)
The grounds, restaurant, stores, spa are perfection. Location to me is just amazing. One can walk or watertaxi, anywhere. A taxi into town is about $6. I usually exchange dollar for peso, but didn't this time as dollar accepted and exchanged with zero hassle.
I did set up a private beach dinner and cabana at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica. Looked on internet extensively for best, and all indicators pointed there. $200 plus alcohol plus tip. A must do!!! Also did ocean front dinner at Capella. El Farallon. About $200 plus for dinner, but well worth the money for view and service. Book ahead. I did from the states via OpenTable for El Farallon, but for Pueblo Bonito Pacifica private beach dinner, you must contact the hotel directly and deal with concierge.
Again, PG was outstanding. No complaints, awesome guest services. Thank you once again!!
Note: if you are looking for real Cuban cigars, do not buy from vendors, they are fakes... Trust me .. I know my cigars.. And had a nice talk with a vendor who finally asked me how I knew, I told and showed him( For instance Cohibas dont come in a 5 box, with plastic covers on box, the bands are not crooked on Real Cohibas, and the square count on the wrapper has a certain sequence and are perfect.. These are not even close. Also you cant buy real Cohibas for $75 or so for 5).. Once He knew that I know cigars, he admitted they are from Dominican or Nicaragua. The only place I trust and know they are real is J and J cigars in Cabo. You will pay a minimum of $35 a Cuban. Also, the Playa Grande store has real Cubans, a bit over priced and not as fresh.. But are real and ok if you just want one or two:-)

Came here with a group of 25 college friends on Spring Break. We booked a great deal for the Solmar resort next door on Living Social for what amounted to $75 per night. We were upgraded to Playa Grande upon arrival, and it made our stay unreal. The food was fantastic, the facilities are great, and the beach is as well (although no swimming in the pacific). We were lucky to have access to "the ridge", which is an exclusive part of the hotel with its own set of infiniti pools and hot tubs and a great pool bar/restaurant with a view overlooking Cabo AND the pacific. Shout out to the bartender Raciel who was nothing short of amazing for our group. The drinks were great (not watered down), and all-inclusive really meant all-inclusive. Only a few very premium drinks and menu items were not included, but that was never an annoyance.

The size of our group made leaving the resort unnecessary most of the time save for a few obligatory visits to Mango Deck and a kayaking outing.

The only negative is having to sign for absolutely everything you order, and the lack of wifi. They really should invest in some tech to allow for room keys to replace the receipt-signing we had to do all the time. Our all-inclusive bracelets felt useless the entire time...

All in all, would highly recommend this resort, particularly if you can get a good deal!

Room Tip: If you can get a room at the Ridge, it's a farther walk to the beach but the exclusivity of the...
