This was my second stay here and it was much quieter (last stay was Easter week 2007). Ocean was much calmer. Weather was great. Accomodations were very comfortable except for the pillows - very hard and thin! If you like foam pillows, I suggest bringing your own. I slept on the futon bed and found it was short - had to sleep diagonally. My only other qualm was the elevator music and even Christmas music at night by the pool. I prefer something peppier! Maid service was great - they washed all our dishes. Pool service and food (roasted veggies, fish tacos, ceviche, sushi) were great.

We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub near the ocean - except one or two days - it was very cold!! They finally fixed it. We hiked over rocks to Lover's & Divorce Beach - it was much more difficult than in April - the second set of rocks was tough - in April you could just run around them. Only do this if you are an adventurer! The pool was too quiet for me - loved going over to Medano Beach. There were 3 women together on this trip, and we didn't feel safe at night walking the marina - got harassed and resorted to taking taxis home. We took the bus to Chileno Bay for snorkling (15 pesos each), but is was on a weekday and the snorkel rental guy wasn't there. Quite interesting waiting for the return bus as there is no official bus stop! Beautiful beach. Loved Romeo&Juliet (restaurant), organic/wine store next door, Crazy Lobster, Muzuco (sp??) Mazatlan (very authentic, full of Mexican families), and Pepitos. My friends got very sick eating a can of Mexican tuna fish packed in water - don't do this!! Had breakfast at the Office - very yummy! and enjoyed taking the water taxis home to marina and did lots of shopping at Marina Mercado. Cruise ships there every day except Sunday! Only saw one whale.

Everyone should have the opportunity to stay at Cabo's Playa Grande Resort.

From the outstanding accomodations, to the wonderful food and exceptional staff, the Playa Grande is what a great resort is supposed to be!

Playa Grande is private and serene and yet is within walking distance of downtown Cabo San Lucas with all of it's activity. The location just can't be beat.

We look forward to returning next year.

My husband and I were there for our 1-week honeymoon last year (September-October 2007). We had AN AMAZING TIME. The place is BEAUTIFUL and our suite was SPECTACULAR.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Yes, they do try to sell you on their timeshare but once you decline (when you check-in is when they give you the spiel) then you're good to go.

The food at the hotel was good but try to eat at other places around Cabo. Also there's happy hour at the pool everyday from 3pm-4:30pm so take advantage of that!
The mini golf was really cute and I had one treatment at the spa that was AMAZING! My husband said the gym is very nice and modern.

This hotel is in a GREAT location b/c everything is walking distance from it, like the marina, Downtown Cabo, etc. From other hotels you have to get a cab in order to get anywhere, not at Playa Grande!

The only downfall: you can't swim at the beach b/c of the undertow currents, but there's plenty of other places you can go to swim at. Their pool is outstanding too.

Would stay there again!

The staff at Playa Grande were wonderful. The front desk helped us get 2 rooms close to eachother with a wonderful view upon arrival. We were afraid that our 2 Studio rooms would be spread out - because they apparently do not have 2 Studio rooms right next to eachother in the entire complex - but the staff understood it was important to us to be close to eachother - so they put us on top of eachother. Rooms 2406 and 2306 (2406 is on 4th floor directly above 2306).

The Studio room was very nice, with a table for 4, couch (foldout), and King size bed. There was a nice armoir w/ 3 large drawers (1 drawer was enough for all of my clothes for 1 week). The bathroom was very nice. The tub was extremely deep - very nice.
There was not a lot of closet space, so good thing the drawers were very large.

The pools were nice - lots of different pools to satisy most people. Heated, not heated, etc.
plenty of chairs while we were there.

The beach was great. You can't swim on the Pacific side, but you can lay out...and if you don't take your lawnchair very far away, the cabana boys will serve you drinks on the beach.
The sounds of the ocean crashing is magnificent!!

The crowd was mostly a little older, so not very noisy. I was disappointed that the pools closed at 9pm.

The piano player at the restaurant when we were there was also the keyboard player at the Cabo Wabo - so that was fun to see him around!!

We went to the show one night - the show itself was nice, and the food was really good.

The resort offered painting and some other activities - the only one we did was painting -which was fun.

My buddy and i spent July 4th holiday this year at Playa Grande. As other comments already posted, i was sucked in for a Time Share Presentation. Bottom LIne: the salesman sold me a STUDIO at the sister property SOLMAR SUITES. I am trying to trade this in 2008 and its worthless !!!! My buddy went back with his girlfriend and got another sales man giving the same F'd up storys and lieing. He asked the salesman why i couldn't trade, apparently the studios have ZERO trade power.

The resort is beautiful and the staff is great....just don't waste your time or efforts on the timeshare deal.
