We stay here quite often. The reason is simple: Every room offers a breathtaking ocean view! And I'm pretty sure every room has a balcony. At least, we've always had one. The only drawback to this hotel is that it's on the Pacific side of the town, and unless you take the hotel's free shuttle to it's sister hotels in town, which currently runs about every two hours, or have a rental car, you're stuck with a few taxi rides, which can add up quickly. But then, one person's drawback is another person's plus. If you want to party in town until the bar's close, then this resort isn't for you. We like the fact it's a ways from town, yet close enough. We take the free shuttle, which works out fine, then will rent a car for a day and go to the places we like to avoid costly tours. The quality of the hotel is outstanding. We were somewhat concerned that there might be some slight damage to the hotel from a recent hurricane that passed by, but are happy to report we found no damage. Instead, the resort is well maintained and manicured. The service people are friendly, and the golf-cart drivers are always within 2-3 minutes away. There's free access to wireless internet from the pool areas and lobby. The restaurants are good, but slightly pricey. The Bistro may be the best value, but La Nao (at the base of the hill just above the beach) offers good food, especially the breakfast buffet...when in season. Some of the rooms have kitchens. We had one this time, and my wife enjoys cooking in the room and us eating on the balcony. Can't beat the view! And as much as we like the ocean view, we like the view and layout of the Spanish-Mediterranean style resort itself, which is situated on a hillside. The architecture is beautiful. I don't think you can go wrong here. Unfortunately, they still haven't started work on the golf course that's been advertised since the hotel opened. Still, we have never had a bad experience here.
