Whenever traveling we have found this website to be a great resource tool. I have read lots of pros and cons to various places we've stayed and frankly I have a hard time negotiating negative postings. We have come to the realization that some folks must be too fussy or just hard to please. I, like a prior post, do not understand the negative feed back to Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. First of all it is NOT a Hotel but a Resort made up of various Condos’. It has been a week since we've returned and we can't stop talking about it. What a superb place!!!! Overall we had a wonderful and magnificent experience. The Resort, staff, and atmosphere were all delightful. Our only negative was one cart driver but [psssst] that was it. First of all it is secluded and not near or even like the other resorts in Cabo. It is tucked away in a tranquil and peaceful hillside setting on the Pacific side with endless views of the ocean. It's only a short 5 [plus] minute drive to the downtown area. For those of you who are looking to swim in the Ocean, you can take the shuttle and use the facilities at the PB-Blanco or PB-Rose'. The ocean currents are too strong in front of this Resort for swimming. We had a few meals at the Resort and each time the food was magnificent. The service was always outstanding and the staff was EXTREMELY COURTEOUS. Sunday Brunch was a luxurious array of everything you could imagine. The Spa was HEAVENLY!!! I must also say that everyone speaks impeccable English. Go do the Timeshare Presentation, it is worth the perks and even though we didn't buy, we never felt pressured. I hope this posting helped and everyone in our group felt Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach was a 10.

We stayed at the Sunset Beach in Nov. I wasn't expecting a true 5 star resort (because it was so cheap!), so I was pleasantly surprised when we got there. I don't believe it's 5 stars, but I thought it was a great value for the price. My biggest complaint is that our flight arrived late and they had no king bed rooms left by the time we got there. Our room was in a good place (in a smaller villa) with a beautiful view though, so it wasn't the worst thing in the world. The rooms are new and clean and tasteful. We enjoyed the cabanas on the empty quiet beach (sooo much nicer than the beach in town on the sea - yuck!). My boyfriend and I are in our mid- 20's so we didn't want to stay as far away from town as the Westin or Palmilla, but didn't want to stay in town. This location was perfect. We only ate a couple dinners at the hotel (food was OK, we only ate there because we were exhausted). We tipped the maids a couple dollars a day - always had a clean room and nothing was stolen, it didn't appear anyone had messed with our safe. Overall, I would reccommend it. We got a great deal ($1200 a person including airfare from NYC for 8 nights). I feel like we got more than what we paid for.

Not sure why all the negatives about this resort? Arrived late evening, check-in a breeze. Had no problems with golf carts to room and around resort. It was beautiful. Had a great view of the beach from my room. Room had 2 nice beds, balcony, kitchen area. All very nice. Had breakfast in the restaurant...first rate...normal US prices.

It was a great visit. Would stay again.

My wife and I just got back from a week at Sunset and thoroughly enjoyed the property. Staff were friendly & courteous. Great views and squeaky clean room that is nicely appointed.

We decided to do the timeshare gig after several days. Pretty much painless with a free meal, couple bottles of booze & $150 credit. After looking at some stats, the timeshare will proabably not make sense if you do not plan to use your timeshare every year. They say they can rent your timeshare for you and will split it 50/50 but after the annual maintenance it looked doubtful you could come anywhere near a break even.

Would be interested in reading some comments from current owners who have some contrary views.

Yes we got sucked in and bought a timeshare. It really is a beautiful location. Each room has an ocean view. Great gym with no extra fee. The grounds are beautifully maintained. Now here come the lies...we were told that all the golf carts would accommodate someone in a wheelchair, that the bus into town would be accessible and that the wheelchair accessible studios would be ready the year after we bought. Well 3 years later, not true.

They have had to upgrade us to an accessible one bedroom. That was all great until one managment person decided we should be paying the difference between the maintainance fee of the studio and one bedroom. He practically accused us of lying about the wheelchair issue. Now come on, when you meet someone in a wheelchair, do you really think they would want to fake that just to get a wheelchair accessible room. Well of course we fought it and went to the head resort manager who apologized and we have been accommodated ever since.

Another frustration is that the golf carts are not accessible and neither is the bus into town. Unless you are very strong, getting up and down the hills can be a nightmare. You also have to fight to get free transportation like the rest of the guests.

The sales people all lie to you just to make a sale. Each year they try to get us to upgrade to the one bedroom and of course we say no. In fact, we are trying to sell our unit because of the lack of true accessibility

If it was not for the wheelchair issue, I would only say wonderful things about this place. It is secluded. The ocean view is spectacular. You get to watch the whale migration in the winter from your balcony. Most of the staff are wonderful. The buffet in the main restaurant is great and a good price. If you can get on the shuttle, getting into town is convenient so you get the best of both worlds.

If you would like more info, just contact me.
