We just returned from our stay at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. We have 3 kids 15,17, 19 and all three of them loved our stay. Many hotels are geared for younger families, but here there are things for older kids too. They loved the main pool, pool activities and the beach sports. There were a lot of high school age kids here which made if fun for our kids. There is a "walk in" pool, perfect for babies or toddlers. If you want to have a peaceful, quiet pool, there is also one that is quiet.

It is too bad you can't swim in the ocean or skimboard etc, but we loved watching the waves in the Pacific. They are huge!! By taking the free shuttle over to the Rose, you can rent waverunners, go parasailing, skimboard etc....At first it bothered me to have to go to the Rose to do these things, but after doing them, I was glad to go back to Sunset Beach. It was much quieter and cooler. The ocean breeze kept the 96 degree temp. tolerable to our northern blood and there were no vendors to deal with constantly. In fact, bring a light sweater and pants for the evenings if you get cold easily. We loved the coolness.

We went horseback riding, ATVing, and on a dinner cruise and all passed the teenage fun test. All were organized by the hotel concierge efficiently and quickly. Both the horseback riding and ATVing was fun for those of us with little or no experience with either. The horseback riding was beautiful along the beach and really fun in the desert. The ATVing was a blast for all of us.

We went into town and had dinner at Cabo Wabo (it was surprisingly good) and Mi Casa (wonderful, but more touristy than I expected). We had heard several times that Edith's is a fabulous place to go for dinner, but we didn't make it there.

When we went into town, other than going to the Rose area, we took cabs. It seemed we always wanted to go to the other end of town. The bellman would call for a cab and in a minute or two it was there. When you want to come home there are taxi stands and you can pick up a cab easily.

The golf carts are wonderful at the end of the day when you don't feel like walking uphill. Most of the time we walked, but we did enjoy talking to the drivers. They are great sources of info. Our kids met other kids riding from one place to another. And, they were everywhere....you never had to wait long to get a ride.

There were only two complaints that we had....We had a larger suite and it was supposed to accomodate 4 adults. I'm not sure what adults they were thinking of. There is no way two adults could possibly sleep on the pull out couch. It was like a twin bed and a half. We ordered two rollaways which were fine, but were more like cots.

The other complaint has been mentioned here before. Housekeeping is inconsistent....at best. When we ordered the rollaways, we assumed they would come with linens, but didn't. It took several phone calls to get them squared away, but at midnight it wasn't fun. Finally, we thought things were taken care of only to have housekeeping strip the beds the next day, but not replace the sheets on the rollaways or the pull out couch.....another round of phone calls. The worst thing is that it happened again. We always tried to reuse towels, but I like to have clean washcloths everyday. Most of the time they took the dirty ones, but didn't replace them. On the weekend, no one came in the room at all. For what we spent on the room, housekeeping shouldn't be an issue. However, to us these were annoying, but minor in comparison to the rest that the resort has too offer.

I did appreciate the security that the hotel provided. I liked having to provide our name and room number at the gates. The security was also all over the hotel grounds as were the golf carts. With kids who wanted to walk around and "check" things out, it made me feel better to know that several people were making the rounds constantly. Although, the evenings were so pleasant that there were tons of people walking around.

We were never approached at the resort to buy timeshare. Although, we met many owners who love coming back every year and I can see why. It was great....pleasant and quiet, but not boring. If you want the party atmosphere, and sometimes we did, it's a cab ride away....close enough for us.

We visited last year and took the timeshare presentation. In our lives we have gone on many timeshare presentations and just said no. We love to lead them on and take thier goodies and then say no! But this place sold itself. Still, throughout the past year, my wife had buyers remorse. But we stayed there June 20-28 and it was fantastic!

We had a beautiful Executive Suite. So beautiful and peaceful there. The staff was amazing. We met great people at the pool. The food in all restaraunts was great and the ambiance at La Nao was terrific. We rented a car, so we drove into downtown Cabo several times to enjoy the night life, parasail, eat at the marina. Parking was no problem and the trip is so short, it is an enjoyable ride.

I'll treasure my quiet morning having ocffee on the balcony and watching the fishing boats head out through my binoculars. It is fairly hilly, but not that bad to walk from bottom to top......but why would you with golf carts running every 3 minutes! The gym and the spa were wonderful too!

We can't wait to go back.

Stayed at PB Sunset beach for 7 days.

Positives:
Extremely well manicured property, beautiful.
Great food. Great food in Cabo, in general!! The shrimp coctail, guac, spinich dip, ceviche were all great. And the lunch at the deli was reasonable $$ too. We ordered room service and ate on our private balcony -- very romantic and nice.
Beautiful beach -- secluded and great to walk on (the sand can get a little rough on the insoles of your feet).
The spa massage was AWESOME!
Great staff and very friendly -- except for...

Now the negatives -- don't expect immediate response like you'd get in another hotel for things that need fixing/things that are missing -- when we checked in, we didn't have a remote for the tv, the fan didn't work, and we didn't have a hairdryer. It took the whole day and 3 phone calls to get this fixed. Same deal when the in-room safe broke. And we had a package sent to the room that never showed up -- even after repeated phone calls. We finally got it the next day -- but no one knew where it had been for a day.

Finally -- I agree with the other reviewers -- it's very secluded and a GREAT PLACE to stay if you don't want to be "where all the action is" -- but not a good place if you want to be in more of a "spring break" atmosphere. But -- the shuttle takes you downtown for free -- and you can go there and get a nice dinner and come back to PB Sunset where it's more quiet.

We visited this Paradise through my parents time share, LUCKY US! We were there for our first year anniversary 4-25-2005 thru 5/2/2005. The entire staff were absolutely professionals and super friendly. We got great advise from several of the golf cart drivers on what to do, where to go, what to eat, etc. We also had an incident on premises and after a few calls, the on-site manager took care of it. The resort is to die for, with glamorous views, landscaping, and architecture, beautiful infiniti pools, swim up bars! AGHHHH, I WANT TO GO BACK! It gives you a feeling as if you were in a different world all together! The Jr. Suite was very pretty but not as big as I expected, it accomodated 4 adults comfortably. We took a drive to La Paz were we went fishing and dolphine watching which was pretty cool and to Todos Santos...it was awsome to see Hotel California other than that, the drive was not worth it. Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach gets an A+++ from me....!

We just got back a couple of days ago. I have been going to Cabo for over 20 years and have seen all of the changes. This was the first time we stayed away from Medano Beach. I was not sure how I would like it but I did.

The atmosphere and service in the hotel was very nice. Our room had a beautiful view of the Pacific. We had a Junior Suite with a King and we were very happy with it. They had different kinds of pillows you could request to make you more comfortable.

The fitness area was wonderful. The spa was also very nice as the attention to detail in the ambiance was very obvious. The facial was not the best I have had but the service and atmosphere was very relaxing.

The carts were great but we walked everywhere and it was great excercise. The main pool was more difficult to get a lounge chair but the smaller pools were great and quiet if that is what you are looking for.

Restaurants were good but La Frida was very good but expensive. Worth it for one nice dinner out with a spectacular view. Service was outstanding.

Overall we loved it there. When we go again we will probably stay at Rose though if we take our kids. For the two of us it was very romantic. If you want action it is not the place to be. We felt it was the best of both as we took the shuttle to Rose and hung out at the beach and ate at the Office. Then we could go back to our quiet room and enjoy the luxury.

The time share tour was very lowkey and low preasure. It was worth it to get the $150.00 credit in the hotel. If you want luxury and a quiet retreat this was wonderful. For a party, stay closer to town!!!
