I remarked to my husband that of anywhere near the ocean that we've ever stayed - Maui, Big Island, the Bahamas, Florida - the ocean views from the PBSB are the absolute best. Throw in the ability to whale watch from your balcony, and it doesn't get any better.
Service:
The property and grounds of this hotel are absolutely beautiful, and the friendliness of the restaurant and golf cart staff is top notch. I did have an issue with one of the front desk agents being rude to me at one point, and spoke with a manager just to let them know that it had occured. I'm not the kind to dwell on this, though, and it didn't spoil my satisfaction of the resort or its services.
Spa services were very nice as well.
Food:
We ate at La Nao, the Bistro, and La Frida on property. While La Frida might be nice if you were at the resort for the week (we were only there for three nights), I'd say save your money and just eat at the Bistro and La Nao - both serve great food and good service and are less expensive by quite a bit compared to La Frida. We liked La Frida, just didn't feel that a person needed to spend that amount of money to be satisfied with the other fine restaurants on the property. But if you do go, don't get pelligrino at dinner. It was $20 for two small individual bottles! Most other costs at the resort were much less than you would pay at a similar resort in Hawaii or the Bahamas.
Accomodations:
The rooms were quite comfortable. There was some noise from construction (we were in building 30) going on, but I understand that that is just part of staying at a developing property. The fact that every room is an ocean view is a huge plus. Because the floors are stone, you get the noise of scraping from your upstairs neighbor, but again - didn't bother us.
Overall, an absolutely beautiful place and a wonderful stay.
