Me and my husband just returned from a WONDERFUL week in Cabo and stayed at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset. This resort exceeded our expectations and we could not have had a better vacation. We are rather snobby New Yorkers and are very picky when it comes to hotels, service and especially food, and we were very happy with all of the standards at the hotel. We found it to be a perfectly relaxing week, with the staff being so friendly and accommodating, as well as the scenery being beautiful, and the atmosphere laid back and casual, which we love.
To be more specific, we began the vacation in a standard room and were actually not thrilled with the room, it was very basic and standard. But luckily we got upgraded to a one bdrm suite which is a HUGE jump in value, I highly recommend it! We were in building 18 and it was perfectly located.
We ate lunch every day at one of the pools and felt the options were great, and delicious. The two happy hours per day were wonderful and even if we just ordered big bottles of water, we took full advantage! we highly recommend the Dirty Monkey...yummm.
We spent most of the nights in town by taking a 12 dollar cab ride and had really fun and delicious dinners at Mi Casa, Baja Cantina and a few other places in town that were all charming and great value (especially as New Yorkers who are used to the most expensive food/drink.)
We really did have the most relaxing and fun vacation and were cannot wait to go back and visit very soon!

This place was Gorgeous! Would love to go back!

First of all we had such a bad experience at the airport. I will say if you are going, arrange transportation ahead of time. And just keep walking right through right outside the airport. DO NOT make eye contact with anyone lol. We made that mistake. Unless of course you want to waste your holiday doing time share things. Up to you. Anyways after that experience i was a little weary. I was tired had a headache. Then we get to Sunset. The front desk lady tells us our room was not available for another night, however they would upgrade us at no charge for the week. Not caring at this point, we said fine, and took a cart up to our room. The cart driver brought our bags up and OMG i swear this place was bigger then my house! The kicker? I go out on the balcony and theres a hot tub there! Hell the Balcony was almost bigger then my house! It was beautiful. Its a wonder we ever left our room. We could watch the whales jumping from the hot tub! And we did. It more then made up for all the fiasco at the airport.

This resort is wonderful. The staff are awsomme and helpful! The consierge go way out of there way to accomidate you. The food is good. The bistro is great for breakfast. We would sit on the patio and watch teh whales while we ate. When you order iced tea, it is actually Iced tea! lol Much to the dismay of my 6 year old, who likes the sugar filled crap you get here. The staff there was great. There was one young woman who literally ran from table to table cleaning. We run a small motel at home and we wanted to take her home with us lol. It was quiet. Not alot of people. But thats how we liked it. You werent being bugged by time share all the time. The mountain is steep Were at the highest building 22, and we would just walk down and catch a cart back up. Once we tried walking all the way down to the beach, Then walked on the beach for awhile, and then tried walking back up. I swear we got halfway up and i was dyin! lol We caught a cart the rest of the way. lol.

I definately recomment this hotel to anyone. Unless of course you would like to party and enjoy the nightlife of cabos, you might prefer a resort in town. I will say Dont buy anything at the marina until you go to a little store across the street from the mall, its just down the block from The Shrimp Factory (GREAT FOOD BTW) I think it was called the tshirt shop. I swear this is where the people at the flea market get there merchandise to sell. SO its WAY cheaper. Unfortunately we found this little gem AFTER we went to the flea market. We were kicking ourselves... lol

Excersions.. Cabos Dolfins was great. My son loved it. I will say they totally hose you! it was 80$ for him to swim with teh dofins. He forgot his swim trunks at the hotel so we had to buy him some there, $30 was the cheapest. Then Its time to go and they tell you no cameras. Guess what, they have a photagrapher... and its 17$ a print! or $50 for a CD with all of them (photomaker machine liek at walmart) They know damn well your going to want pictures. Anyways we paid the 50$ and sucked it up lol. But we werent happy about it! lol

The buccanear Pirate sunset tour was wonderfull. It was on a replica pirate ship. And they do a kind of show. All the crew is dressed liek pirates. My son loved it. Highly recommended. Its not just for kids either. Theres an open bar onboard, Loud music, and a dancefloor. Definately alot of fun!

Baja ATV tours was so fun. You go through the desert down to mediano beach. Its beautiful! Its dusty and dirty and your itching for a shower when its over but definately a must!

We did way more like the todos santos tour was fun driver was great. Margaritas at the 'tequila sunrise' (across from Hotel california) resturant will knock you on your butt! Dont drink out of the straw and make sure you stir it! lol I didnt know these tips and got a big mouthful of tequila on teh first sip. lol

Anyways. Moral of the story. Its a beautiful place. Beautiful Hotel. And SOOOO much fun! Definately go you will love it!

We just had a great week at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset in Cabo. We traveled their with owners of this resort. We have nothing negative to report about this hotel. The staff is super nice and helpful. The food is also quite good in the restaurants. There are two deli's on site or small grocery stores which was nice too. The rooms were nice and cleaned greatly by our maids each day. Overall, a beautiful resort and nice and quiet! We had a very relaxing week!

We enjoyed the free shuttle to the other Pueblo Hotels in Cabo that were a bit closer to downtown Cabo and the Marina. But note, it leaves on the hour, every hour between 10am and 10pm from the Sunset. Then, it leaves from the Rose on every 1/2 hour. You must get a ticket from the front desk ahead of time too to ride. Also, you are not allowed to take groceries on the shuttle, so don't think you can just ride over to the Rose, then take a cab or bus to Wal-Mart, and think you can come back again with your groceries, they won't let you on. You will have to get a cab back to the Sunset with your groceries. The prices at the Hotel deli are quite expensive...for the same huge jug of water, it is just over a $1 at Wal-Mart, and $4 at the Hotel. It is only $12 to have the cab bring you from the Rose to the Sunset if you want to get cheaper groceries at Wal-Mart.

Happy Hour, or two for one drinks are offered twice a day at this resort which was fun. The drinks are typically $6 to $8. A list of what pool areas has Happy Hour can be found on a little flyer at the concierge desk.

One last note about this resort is the shuttle that the hotel offers back to the airport. We booked the shuttle from the airport to the resort when we first arrived and it worked great. We could bypass all the timeshare people trying to get us tour because we just walked right out to our van. It cost $17 per person, one-way and didn't make any stops. We booked it ahead of time on the Pueble website. On the way home though, we found out that the vans only leave a 1pm. Our flight wasn't till about 8pm. Since we didn't want to wait around the airport all day, we just took a cab and left when we wanted to. It was well worth it, it cost $75 for 4 of us...it would have cost all 4 us $68 to take the shuttle van...so a few extra dollars was worth the extra time in the sun for us!

This was our second stay at PBSB. It just gets better each time we stay... Our room was fantastic. Very clean and beautiful...
We watched the whales from our balcony each day and it was a delight. I cannot say enough of the hospitality the resort has to offer. We were treated like royalty and never ran into an unfriendly employee. The Spa was a wonderful treat just an added bonus...
The carts were not a problem for us. When we could not get one or didnt want to wait we would just walk. I think I lost weight on this trip. The sunsets and the sunset pool are awesome...
The service fantastic. We cannot wait to go back next year. We sure hated to leave... ((::

I would seriously question the intelligence and sanity of any reviewer who didn't feel this was a top of the line resort. We have stayed at a half dozen RCI Gold Crown Resorts and none compared to this. The resorts' restaurants recently received the highest marks of any in Mexico and for good reason. Their "family" restaurant was better than most gourmet restaurants we've dined in in Mexico. Prices in this restaurant were $12-20 per entree, in their other two finer restaurants $25-75.(Everything is more expensive in Cabo if you hadn't already been told that).

Plenty of pool space, lounges, pool bars and beach tents and no need to take a whale watching tour unless you want to get really, really close-they are running just off shore but some binocs would give even more pleasure watching them.

Depending on which building you are staying in and your level of fitness, you may be able to walk everywhere without calling for a gas golf cart to transport you. We are mid forties and in shape and didn't use the transport once. The views are spectacular.

When we were there the clientele was nearly 100 white Americans/Canadians so there really isn't much of an "international" feel. The workers are surprised if you speak in Spanish.

There is the obligatory timeshare sales going on there but we were not accosted at the resort-only at the airport and in the city. At the airport just keep on walking until you get all the way outside the terminal to be picked up by your pre-arranged shuttle or to pay 3x as much for a private taxi.

In conclusion, AAAA++++++.
