My mother (52) and I (25) just returned from Cabo San Lucas after having stayed at Sunset Beach. Coming from two women who have very hectic day jobs (mom is an educator and I am a full time beautician)....Sunset was W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L!!!! There was some construction going on around us (there are maybe only 4 more buidlings to be made before they complete it, totally....plus the owners mansion being built just a few feet north of the resort). It wasnt enough to disturb us (the walls are thick and the windows are sound proof). The customer service was excellent (youll make friends with the waiters, waitresses, and maitre'd's at La Nao by your second night!! LOL). The food was pricey at La Nao, but it is SO EXCELENTLY prepared and SO MUCH CHEAPER than some of those places in downtown cabo...that its well worth it. If youre a timeshare person....remember to take full advantage of your kitchenette!! La Nao is clean, chok full of calm ambience (at dinner, you are serenaded by two or three local musicans). theres also smooth jazz subtly kicking thru hidden speakers (on the patio) in the evening.the pool is awesome. one part is regular tempurature, then theres regular temperature with jets, then theres an aqua bar (you can walk THRU THE WATER and sit on tile "bar chairs" and "bar sofas" with tile table). because this is the less crowded of the three pueblo bonitos....the poolside waiters are very prompt. the other half of the pool is slightly warmed and VERY relaxing. theres a hot tub on the premesis, a couple of benches set up for resort employed vendors, and a host of fun activities led by the entertainment staff. The beach is nice, but yeah...ya cant swim there or walk the tide. The sound of the waves crashing against the surf is the sound of a mean rip tide from the shoreline to about 10-15 feet (or so) out. An experienced swimmer or surfer might make it....but i was told the danger is for small children, young children and inexperienced swimmers. Follow the orders though, its for your good. But if you cant live without a beach you can swim at....take the free shuttle to Rose' or Blanco. Be warned (especially if you go in mid july)...that Rose and Blanco WILL BE PACKED FULL OF PEOPLE! ..so get there early.theres a modest gym (and a MONSTER staircase that connects the top of the resort to the bottom ---without having to walk down the winding mini-road that runs thru the entire resort). some folks complained....but for someone who needed a warm up before hitting the gym..that staircase was on point!!! **laughs**.They dont have an elaborate spa like at Rose (definitely catch the shuttle to Rose' the in-spa atmosphere). But if youre pretty private (and dont like to be bothered with a whole lot of other people)....have one of sunset beaches masseuses (sp?) come to your ROOM! or MASSAGE YOU WITHIN A CLOSED CABANA on the beach or by the pool!!!.the whole place was great. weve been gone a lil less than a week now...and im still thinking about how wonderful a time i had there with my mom. this is a good place if you want king or queen treatment, without a whole lot of crowds, with quietness (and even romantic ambience).

Just got back from a week at PB Sunset Beach. It was a lovely place. We
needed a break from people and it was the perfect place to be. The pool
was hardly ever packed with people and if it was there was a second
smaller pool you could go to. We were upgraded to the penthouse and it
was fantastic. 3 huge bedrooms and marble floor and a hot tub on the
terrace balcony. We had a beautiful view except for the construction.
The place is under constant nearby construction and they work ALL
night! It was hard to star gaze because of the bright lights they used
and it was NEVER perfectly quiet. However, we went to the spa at the
Rose which was very nice, but the pool was packed with the throngs of
humanity. We liked being able to visit the busy side of town, but
enjoyed going to our more quiet place. We enjoyed the pool, but they
closed the swim up bar at 7:00 and it didn't get dark until and they
wouldn't serve you, so you would have to go up the the restaurant (in
smimwear) and get a drink. Room service food was decent, but they
screwed up orders at least three different times. The La Nao restaurant
was ok, but very little authentic mexican fare offered on the menu. The
menu needed to change from night to night instead of just offering a
differing buffet. I wish they had more than one restaurant. They were
building an attached shopping area, updated front lobby and a
supermarket on the premises.... more construction.

ALL AND ALL a BEAUTIFUL QUIET PLACE TO RELAX BY THE POOL OR IN YOUR
ROOM.

Time share guy named "Rocky" was rude when he found out we weren't interested. He could have at least been friendly since we spent 3-4 hours of our vacation listening to his song and dance! TELL THEM UPFRONT BEFORE THEY EVEN START SPEAKING THAT YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED AND THEY WILL CUT DOWN ON THE TIME THEY SPEND TRYING TO "SELL" YOU!

This is a very beautiful resort with extremely nice people serving you diligently. We had a great time. Unfortunately the view from our balcony was a construction site. The beach is so dangerous to swim in that security starts yelling if you are close enough to stand on wet sand. Everything is very high in price and to get to town you either ride a taxi ($10 each way) or you ride the free shuttle (be sure to make a reservation) and then walk several blocks to town (you are driven through town and dropped off at the Rose, another of their hotels). Last shuttle is 10:30 p.m. so plan on paying if you stay out late. We rented a car for the first 5 days and it was worth having. You are able to go where you want when you want and the isolation of the resort doesn't impress you. You can drive to the beaches that the boats take you for snorkling. You can go down the beach toward San Jose and enjoy the many beaches available.

This is by far one of the best resorts in cabo San Lucas. The entrance alone gives it a shine. Its about 2miles of road through mountains before you get to the lobby where parking attendants take your car and park it for you. If you dont feel like walking to your room there are golf cart vehicles that can drive you to your room. They have a beautiful private beach the only thing that was very disappointing was that you couldnt go swimming because the waves on the pacific side are too violent and can kill you. So I didnt get to go swimming in the ocean but they have very beautiful swimming pools. Also every day they have a 2 for 1 special at the bar by the swimming pools above all the staff was great. They were so helpful. I had gotten the safe box stuck and within minutes of me calling the front desk some one went to open it.And on a seperate occation I was doing some reading at the beach front and a gentleman that works there walked up to and game me a handfull of shell and told me that he had noticed that I wore shell bracelets and ankles and that maybe I could make a necklace out of them. All in all the staff took care of my friends and I like family. They meke you want to go back. I recomend it to any one who wants to relax and make friends!

My wife and I spent our 10th anniversary at the Pueblo Bonito Blanco.
We were able to see the Rose next door, and Sunset Beach too. We were asked to do the time share thing while there, and were treated like real guests. Sunset Beach turned out to be our favorite. All three Resorts had excellent food with wonderful service. The Staff were always friendly and made our stay a vacation to remember. Everyone was so helpful, and this is what made our stay there so enjoyable. We will be returning, as we are members now. Great service, food, and wonderful people to make your stay complete.
