I just returned from VLE 2 days ago after a 5 night stay. It is new and nice, definitely upscale with high profile/mature guests. Not for 20 year olds looking to party, that is next door at the Palmar. It is quiet and a soothing place. No hassle to buy a unit except one phone call informing us they would be happy to talk to us if we were interested. Nice bath, but very hard beds. Loved the balcony, sat there each night. There are only 2 places to eat at La Estancia-a nice steak piano bar and a grill by the pool, both very over priced. We loved Bella California, a beachside cafe next door at Palmar. Thank goodness we did not go all inclusive and bind ourselves to the resort, as there are so many great places to eat in Cabo. We walked downtown each day for dinner, it is only a 15 min walk each way, or a $7 cab ride, and I believe most VLE guests do this, as many were walking with us. Spa is great, they have daily specials. The grocery store and internet cafe are great too, as is the deli (yummy sandwiches and deserts), which are on the VLE/Palmar property. Very reasonable prices on everything compared to the VLE prices at their 2 restaurants. Never had a problem getting a chair by the pool or on the beach. The only complaints I have are that the beds are super hard and the concierge, Esteban, seems to be very overwhelmed and a bit arrogant. He does not offer you information, you must ask him. And when you do, he doesnt give you all of your options. In fact, we asked for a brochure or magazine to detail some restaurants or info on Cabo and he said he didnt have anything. He also said he didnt even have anything detailing the restaurants at the 2 resorts, the only thing he gave us was a spa brochure. We had to call to find out who had breakfast at the resort, if it was a buffet, how much it cost and when it opened or closed. This was a bit of a hassle, as had they given us this info, we (and other guests) wouldnt have had to call him each day. I just felt a bit in the dark, why didnt they have something about the resort, even in the room? We went next door to Palmar and they gave us something detailing Cabo restaurants, but still nothing on the restaurants on the property. He did, however, give us 2 good recommendations of restaurants downtown. We loved Margaritavilla and the Office, as well as Dorian. Overall, it was relaxing and I would go back . It is the nicest in Cabo and no timeshare hassles.
